Haveyou ever heard of or seen the movie "Gleaming the Cube" it has an awsome downhill part with sliding through corners. it wasn't on a longboard, it was an old school board. but it is very cool

eVo
I don't have anything against the boards. I put some trucks on a waterski and it rides good. Turning radius is a function of the type of trucks. It is the style of advertizing and the tone of thier web page I don't like. Check it out for yourself and see if you think they are "cool". http://st6.yahoo.com/evoskateboards/index.html

Hey - I dunno what this eggman has against evo (eVo?) but my friend Cari got a couple of these boards dropped off by these guys in white suits a week ago in Pacific Beach. They stopped in a beat-to-shit Caddy and told her to "ride" them or something and that they'd be back to pick them up later. So I rode the big one called the Fat Daddy and she rode the longboard - I think the website says it a Carvin Marvin, and they are RAD. I am personally not too keen on the Fat Daddy graphics, but I couldn't get over the tight turn radius it had. The other board rode insane as well. Similar to Sector (are they behind this?) but with the trucks, it turns way better. I think they use Randals. I am no pro, but I know what I like. So that's the first hand news on eVo.

Well here's the deal: I'm trying to find a board that will suite me best. This will be my first board and I want to buy a complete. I am an avid surfer of 5 years and LOVE to carve tight lines and rip. I live in florida so there aren't many hills. I'm thinking more like some HUGE parking garages aroung here and mabey even a trip tp the park. I am 5 9' 150, I've looked at the Flexdex KS40, KS29, and the Kalani Rob 33. Any Suggestions at all?

Hey Manu
Better go to www.streetluge.com and check their message board. They don't know your name so they call you "that fast crazy French guy from France." Just thought you'd get a laugh out of it. Good luck in Gravity games I'll be watching.

Mike, The eVo Fat Daddy looks like a nice board. Mine is in the mail right now along with a carvin marvin. Don't pay attention to anything anybody else says just e-mail the eVo guys and they'll hook you up.

HOW TO STOP?
Probably a silly question, but..just got a sector 9 and I'm wondering if I should use snowboarding techniques to stop. OR since we're dealing with wheels here there just isn't anyway to stop without bailing.

Oh no it's starting! Mike, dude, you gotta check the Deck archives about evo. Use the search feature on this site! Then you will get the stoy on these guys(er, I mean kooks). Go with a Tahoe or something if you want a big board. I even heard that the "luke nosewalker" by S9 is made from crappy wood, but I am not sure.

Now i am concidering gettin this board for myself. Has anyone heard of it, or has it. If you do, can you please tell me what you think of it. Take a glance at the new issue of Spin Magazine (the one with the top 100 albums of the 90's). Inside you'll see a clothing company using a girl and a guy riding a longboard-looking very happy I might add! So, here is where it begins...Pepsi...Coke...are you ready? Longboarding is moving from the unknown to the ad world...

Check the latest issue of Popular Mechanics, in the part where they list new products. There is an add for a longboard. Kinda looks like a gravity, but it's not. Peace Gabe

I recently purchased an Envy "Classic 57" longboard and I was curious if any companies still make nose and tail guards. I am trying to protect the nose and tail in case of some misfortune. Anyone with info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Hey everyone... first time at the site and I am overwhelmed at the amount of information available here. I'm a bodyboarder looking for a longboard to buy to have fun with when I get back to college away from the ocean. I only found one thing about the topic i'm looking for.. which is heavy riders. Someone mentioned about some home-made board for a guy that weighs about 250... Well I'm looking at maybe a Hang Ten 46" board (its on www.flexdex.com), or maybe a spin dog (www.spindog.com). I'm 6'1 and weigh about 225-230lbs... anyone have any advice as to what I should look for?
Thanks, Jeff
