I`m giving out a Longboard-cd with many longboard-songs! Here is one of the songs! (The songs are maybe a little bit groovy)
Ride (dadaadadaa), ride (booom), ride as a condescensionic man. I WANNA RIIIIIDE, I WANNA PUMP UP TO HIGH SHAG SPEED!!!!! I WANNA CHANGE MY NAME TOO JEFFERSON REED!!!!!! Ride (dadaadadaa), ride (booom), ride as hard as a spicegirl fan. I RIDE WITH HOLY PRIIIIDE. (cabongbong) (in the background: "the board is my saddle, the board is my saddle"

I agree w/ SoulSkool. Int'l Longboarder Magazine is one of the best things going for the sport right now. I think that Michael has really captured the spirit and attitude of what longboarding is all about. We should all support it, and make sure that it is a success-- it deserves it!

To top that off, I'd like to say that International Longboarder Magazine rules and anyone who's a longboarder or not needs to check it out. It will either convert you or just solidify what you already know about not only longboarding, but the soulful roots of skateboarding. ILB is like the paper equivalent of NCDSA. Let's support stuff like ILB, NCDSA, Nose Wheelie, Skategeezer,Zboys.com, etc. It's not a just a trend, longboarding is a brotherhood.

Hi,
there was a post a few days ago about a guy being ripped off by the new international longboarder magazine. Well, I publish this magazine and it turns out that the guy in question, never actually subscribed to the mag-so we never had a name or address. Just for the record, NO ONE got ripped off. If you have subscribed and have not received a copy of the magazine, contact me...Those who have just recently subscribed will be getting issue #3.
Hope this clears any confusion.
Best wishes
michael brooke

Hi my friends, i'm 35, i'm not a real skateboarder because i only practice since two years, I was snowboarder in slalom and now i'm skateboarder in downhill but it's not to be a pro or an old skater which prove what you are, but your way of thinking and act in life. Be yourself, and enjoy life ! Sk8 safe....

Because THIS is a forum in cyber-space...we can't actually see each other. And since this is the NCDSA site, we are all talking about various kinds of 'downhill' skateboarding.
A lot of people look to this website to reach out and see what others are doing. Unfortunately, some 'kids' think they have to do only what is 'cool' within their age group. I'm sure a lot of you reading this are about 14-18 yrs old.
I'm 37 years old now, I've quit skateboarding about three times for different reasons, I surf, ride a Mt. bike, and do LOTS of other stuff too.
I've had probably twice the whole 'lifetime' of one of you kids to mess up and start over again in many sports and projects growing up.
One thing you will find along the way (when you're 25 or so) is that you just 'KNOW' if you are a skater or not. It is in you or it's not. You can put the skate away for ten years and still be a skater.
Stop trying so hard to prove what you are and what you are not. Just skate and come here to talk about it, or go do what you do. It's all good.

Second thoughts, I hate when people think they can only enjoy one activity ,I don't hate the people ,I hate that attitude, or maybe after 25 years of skating and owning a Bmx bike my bike that only went unrepaired for about three or four years and I only stopped skating for six months when I broke my back.I really can't imagine seriously announcing that I quit skating to do something else,it sounds like a joke.

Doesn't sound real, but who really cares?but I do hate people who think they need to specialize in one thing,I,m not a kid and I have many forms of cool entertainment two different Bmx bikes Dh and crosscountry mountainbikes and of course a couple different skateboards variety is the spice.

I was wondering how I could get that longboarding magazine you are talking about. I saw a web page that wanted us to send a check. Unfortunately, My friend did this about two months ago and still has not seen his mag. I think he was ripped off. thank goodness it was only ten dollars. Any suggestions??

Congrats to adam for hitting 3 years with this page! What a great service it is. If you thought things were going mental this year with our great sport, you ain't seen nothing yet. My gut feeling is that longboarding will hit even bigger heights in 2000. Watch for the new issue of Int Longboarder coming out in Feb-we've hit 32 pages on glossy stock!
cheers mike

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to sk8boarders all over the world! I haven't got the longboard yet but I'm gonna get one for the new millenium! I can't wait! I've been looking at the big hill right around the corner and I can't wait to drop the longboard bomb on it! The U.S. Bombs 'Skater Dater' has been getting me pumped up for this, and I'm amped! "were carving, were grinding, skater dater!" it's all about smooth, fluid, flowing lines across asphalt and concrete! Carve those lines now or somebody else will! It's all about FUN and nothing else! Longboarding from my perspective is about what skateboarding use to be about at one time and that is nothing but FUN! You don't have to be the first to break your neck while attempting to do the latest trick-of-the-month-club! Carve on brothers! Oh, and have FUN!

THE DARK LORD OF FUZZ

Well it's kinda like that Newbie, but I'm a shortboard surfer (regular rides are a 6'2" and a 6'5") and I suppose I'm into pulling deep carves, re-entries, big gouges, blah-de-blah... but what I'm getting at is JUST because I'm a shortboarder I have been given a label, "ATTITUDE SURFER/SKATER"... If you ask my mates they'll say I'm one of the coolest little bunnies about. This new-wave extreme sport attitude has a lot to answer for... and before you know it, it will crossover into longboard skate (you mark my words ). I longboard skate coz I love it, OK I don't pull all the old school board-walking stuff... I like deep carves, power slides, etc, coz that's where my surfing is at. We shouldn't pigeon hole each other, brother! We should accept the individualism within each of us and nurture it like a small child... You dig?
Be cool people and you too shall walk in the path of the FUZZ Come to me one and all... LORD FUZZ xxx
p.s. Happy Chrimbo!

I hear ya man. This topic has sprouted up in many boards on this page, (maybe a new board should open up for this topic).
Anyway, longboarders are a diffrent breed of skaters. Their roots come from the longboard surfing culture that is a little more laid back and "soulful" than the short board riders of skating and surfing.
Our "Family" needs to stay close to our roots. There will always be progression in this sport, but it doesn't need to destroy it.

F**k the skate attitude, man... that has even crossed over into surf now. I'm fuggin' sick of it, sitting out in the line-up at my local break, 40-50 guys out, black wettys and intense scowls, dropping in on each other with that banzai/kamikaze/I-don't-give-a-f**k attitude... man I@ve had a guts full of that shit! That's why I really love Longskating... no attitude, brother! Serious, it's like we are one big family, obviously there is some differences of opinion sometimes, but thats what families are all about... you know: growing, developing, evolving... Yeah? you people dig? So let's all be chilled little bunnies and bond together... coz you're my family! I love you guys!

HEY LONGCARVER... Yeah I'm into ROM or STOCKWELL, just E-mail me baby... you know where I hangout. Heaps of snow down here at the moment... ditching the sk8 in favour of the snowboard. Headed up to Brecon yesterday arvo after a morning surf at perfect 4ft offshore Llangennith (look on the map baby!), chilly yet satisfying! Roads a bit icy to longskate, could perfect my Coleman slides though...
