I want fast turning, unlike my friend...and i wanted to get 180 mm...does the size really matter? I wanted to get the 45 degree too, am i doing the right thing... i also saw these Revenge Alpha II. hey... i was wondering if anybody knew how to get an wider axle installed... or install one myself, into my randal dh trucks. I know that that a lot of pros do this to their trucks to add stability.

Hey, You're a jerk but we love you anyway, good to see you resurface and still kicking. Thanks for all you've overspent yourself on, "We" the slalom community HAVE benefitted from what you've done directly or indirectly whether we're riding your trucks or not(some day when someone sets a course for a competition flat and tight enough, you'll see me using mine-it's the ONLY one for that job). Good to know you're still around - P

Radikal is fine. Jack is doing a wonderfull job taking care of the patient customers waiting for product. Sparky and Jack are getting things together and It will be rocking and rolling. Titanium supply and axles were the hold up.
On a personal note---the mid 6 figure $$ I dropped in the last 3 years in the slalom scene is catching up with me. This little ditty will sum up my situation:
There once was a man whose life was never a mess.
who got a startling visit from the IRS
He was put on a leash
Now life is a BEEEEEECH
But It's better than prison wearing a dress.
OUCH
I'm reduced to drinking $$, food $$, and gas $$. That's about it. I miss the scene and wish I could just galavant around the race scene like I used to. Maybe in a year or two.
See ya.

Those are legit... but they aren't the ones that I am looking at. Check out www.sector9.com and look at their board called the Hydra. It has some nasty trucks... and I don't believe that site you suggested carries them. Thanks though.

I'm thinking about a new set of trucks for my sector 9... I know sector 9 sells a board (Hydra) with gullwing sidewinder 2 trucks. I have not been able to find those trucks anywhere else except attached to that board. Help me out on this... where can I hook up a pair of those trucks with out having to buy a complete.

not free randals,7-8years ago randals distribution was kind of sketchy,i would try to order them for my shop from eastern skateboard supply, they would routinely be out oh yeah they don't even stock dhs, so since i like to keep them in stock, i'd order them direct, and i saw a lable under my address lable and peeled it back.

Herbn - The box thing is cool. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one.
It's funny how Fausto's brands were all different quality aluminum. Indy, Thunder, Venture... all poured at Ermico and they all ground very differently—even more-so today. I don't think he ever did anyone elses trucks at Ermico. Not that I can think of, anyway.
I'd like to see some good pics of your trucks. E-mail them to me if you have time.

i still ride/have a set, they do turn quick,i used to slappy the crap out of them and had just a few fail, some people don't break trucks. never said all aluminum was the same, when i see ads that specify the type of aluminum it's usually a356 t6 the manufacturer of randals truck traces back to x caliber, i think i've gotten shipments(of randals) in boxes that still had those lables under the lables that had my address on them. The indy/thunder question is a good one , they are both poured at ermico,i can't imagine why fausto(rip) would pour trucks for someone else out of better stock,or heat treat them better. I like 7075 t6 for my trucks, they take weeks/months to make, granted i don't put in 8 hour days, but once i get obsessed i machine of hours. I need to send pics to computer savvy friends and have them posted for me, is hugh still doing new stuff on his site? ehh , i should have my own.

$200 + currency coversion + duty + shipping for a set of trucks? No thanks. I'll pass. I'd like to try Radikals, but not at that price.
They may indeed turn faster,or flip back and forth like crazy, but for me, I've realised killer geometry must be balanced with resistance to get the best performance out of a truck even pool trucks. A little resistance seems to translate to a more solid pump. And my modded Bennetts provide all the turn I'd ever need.
Kludy - Thanks. I'll have a look.

Radikal vs. Bennett

I'd wager on your statement as well Todd. Radikals are the s#@! for slalom applications, and will outperform the new Bennetts I'm sure.
Slob-Air never claimed that the new Bennetts would outperform Radikals, and he said himself he's never tried them. The $200 per truck price tag might have somehing to do with that.
For the average Joe like me, who's improving his skills and becoming more an more competitive, the prospect of these new Bennetts are just what I'm looking for. I think they will be a nice alternative to Indy 101/Tracker RTX as a front truck for the beginner/intermediate market.
I start placing higher in bigger contests, and feel the need to increase my chances, then I'd consider splurging on Radikals. If I were to do that now, I'd feel like those dudes that show up to the hockey rink with the $1000 skates and $250 stick, but keep falling on their butt cuz they can't skate their way out of a wet paper bag!

Ride it without seeing it?!! No way, that kind of thinking has lead some unfortunate dudes to waking up after a night of boozing and seeing the girl they brought back to their hotel room scratching her balls! LOL!

You guys are tripin, Its a dame skateboard truck! I have raced with the same speedtruck that walt and I came up with for the last 6 years. Same base plate same hangers and they are strong and I have been 65mph on them many times. The bushing are all that and gullwing is not makin it in adds or on the webb , they just make great trucks for speedboarding. We did not run adds because walt was about having fun and makin great trucks! You can talk whatever you want about anything to do with skateboard trucks and you will not find a better truck in the world, its just not talked about! gULLWING IS LIFE IN THE SKATEBOARD WORLD.

herbn - If you think all aluminum is the same, I'm afraid I gave you more credence than you deserve. It's not. The difference between early Indy aluminum and current Indy aluminum and process is not only completely different, but a tragedy. The aluminum in OG Thunders, though poured at Ermico alongside Indy, far surpasses the lower quality aluminum used on Indys, old and new, as well.
I really doubt Ermico would pour Bennett trucks—that's kind of a ridiculous aspersion, I don't know who is doing it though. Is xcalibre still around?
There are huge differences in the aluminum used. Most truck companies these days use previously alloyed aluminum which can't compare to virgin aluminum or even the custom alloyed. There are a lot of grades available—and the US made stuff is generally way better than overseas. Same with steal. We're talking night and day differences.
I've been riding Bennetts since '76. Never stopped, just eventually focused on specific applications. Today I use them for primarily slalom and cruising. But that wasn't always the case—I have a couple sets I've ground down pretty good. Since I got the aluminum Bennett baseplates in about 1980, I think, I've never had a problem, and not a single component of 5 sets have failed. Even the bushings still rock. Previous to that I broke a few baseplates when they used the bullet proof glass, but not a one since.
Living in the past? I don't think so. I just appreciate it. It's been a great 31 years skating and I hope I'm still as stoked and can still do it in another 31 years. My connection to the Bennetts is Concrete Wave—I recently interviewed them. I'm an associate editor with the magazine (and others).
Similar situation with my Stage II Indys and OG Thunders—they, along with my Bennetts, out perform every other truck I've tried. They grind longer, turn faster and last incredibly longer.
Have you ridden Bennetts? The geometry is indeed magic. Definately captured the sweet spot. They out turn every truck I've ever ridden, and I've ridden just about every commercially made truck out there except for Radikal. I have quite the collection of garbage I'll never ride again.
Bennetts do grind well too—they just sucked when you hit a seam in the coping—same with ACS, Lazer and others.
Sorry you can't share the stoke, man, that's a true tragedy and your loss.
