new trucks
On 11/29/2006 herbn wrote in from United States  (205.188.nnn.nnn)

yeah ,now that someone mentions it,i have a bit of experience with radikal problems. I saw one that came factory crossthreaded(kingpin) and needed a new nut and a bit of thread chasing on the bolt. But i do like specs, as an example if you read about a bike frame there are many specs that are very openly available, headtube angle, wheelbase ,suspension travel, top tube length ....

I rode Richy's GOG set up on the GS at the Dixie Cup. They are all that. GOG is Good. Just my 2 cents.

GOG
On 11/27/2006 William Arnette wrote in from United States  (150.216.nnn.nnn)

I am a little bummed that the price is higher than promised, but I saw these things perform flawlessly at the dixie cup and there is no hype in them. Now if you got the money for radikals you can buy a GOG and not have to partake in the headache that is a radikal trucks.

Btw, i dont know what you germans are smoking but you never ride a slalom truck to the liquor store. Something with a wide wheelbase so you can be stable as you brown bag back in style

I love all the new performance gear that's been coming out lately....but it's pretty funny that this guy just broke the 100 cone record on a fiberglass/wood sandwich with standard trucks and HyperStradas.....straight out of 2001..you gotta love it

specs paypal and the sense of it all
On 11/27/2006 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (84.62.nnn.nnn)

there are folks around me who invested 24.000 usd in the first batch of those trucks,i call these folks partners and friends.
they will not comment here, because they ALL think that this discussion is bulls#@!.
these folks invented/created that truck with the hardcore racer in mind-not the keyboard racer-not the massmarket.

these folks didn't even want to really market that truck in the beginning.

these folks also don't see any sense in bringing spec sheets online comparing their truck to any other truck on the market.

these folks are not in it for the money, and no s.c. we are also not waiting for your money.

all the profits being made on the actual product either flow into a sponsor pool or back into the next batch of trucks to be produced.there is no interest in making a profit at this stage and there has never been one.

swallow that.

if you are so keen on how this truck works, try one,you don't even have to buy one,if you are involved in whichever way you might have the chance to actually try it.
then you can take your info from there.
i don't want to make this our task to publish those details here.

so as a german i'm arrogant and not so funny,eh?

arrogance is your interpretation.
mine is:i am so fed up with that senseless brabble here!!!!!!!!!!!

funny?
the other germans involved or being part of the deal don't post here, because they think this is really stupid.

whatever i did or will do:it is to improve the sport and not my typing skills, nor do i want any of my products to be your favorite discussion subject, which,in the end, leads to nothing.

and now you can call me arrogant and unfunny or maybe i'm just in it for the money.
that was by the way the best insult i ever heard in the last year.

s.c. thanks for that interpretation of why and how i do business.

Imagine
On 11/26/2006 Eddy Texas Oultaws wrote in from United States  (70.115.nnn.nnn)

I own both Radikal and GOG Trucks they are both awesome trucks. Can you imagine if everyone was still driving Model Ts because no one had the drive to advance, move forward, look ahead. We would stagnate. Mark Mc Cree had a vision as well as Donald. Both of them have and are continuing to strive for our sport to advance. There is no room for stagnation in our sport. I have been treated very well by Marc, Kieth and Sparky from Radikal. Marc replaced my first set of Radikals that Fed-Ex left on my door step, after they were ripped off. I miss seeing Marc on the tour. Donald to has been a good bro to me as well. Have not met him in person, but the bro is making some killer products. I myself am not a fast racer, but I have gone fast. As Fatboy said to me at DHB as we looked at a bunch of skaters our age holding their old Dogtown boards, standing on the other side of the tape, " we could be on that side of tape, but I prefer to be on this one " Same here. It has been a great ride and I hope it gets better. Bring on the Fyre Trucks. Eddy Proud Member of the Texas Outlaws.

On 11/26/2006 herbn wrote in from United States  (64.12.nnn.nnn)

When i saw the original posted pic og the gog, it was the ajustable one set very flat,in that position the kingpin is definitely hunting any crack or rock. I think of any skateboard truck as if i had that on my board and i was doing a daily skate on it,on a closed slalom course they'd be fine, the front trucks are fine they're quality looks excellent i won't bother looking back but, that's all i said about the gogs, oh yeah ,and the adjustable ones are gonna be expensive, not a rip off, just expensive by nature of their design. d20 is just being the very serious german that we have,i'm also very german,i'm helping to maintain the balence,i have a feeling we may need a few more funny germans to really even things out.As i've said before d20 started the thread on his trucks ,with a pic, aparrently,he didn't want any responce to the pic except a line of customers with paypal in hand.

not yet,but maybe... not at all fat,,,you don't need to try to be arrogant. Slalom seems to be more serious than i like to take skating,,but i can get a whole lot off a internet image, i built a very fun ,better pair, of strokers off a s#@!ty internet image from this website, that's one of the things that got me started visiting here. Actually the "different" comment ,i laughed my petit ass off, was part of a train of thought after reading d20's post. I thought, i would like and exact explanation of how different from radikals these gog's are. A spec sheet column A (radikals) column B (gogs),list of specs for both; axle height, axle width, turning angle, axle offset from turning axis,.....axle position in relation mounting holes ect ect.

HERBN PROBLEMCHILD
On 11/26/2006 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (84.62.nnn.nnn)

whenever you visit this forum you will see at least one or two herbn comments on trucks.
some people got really annoyed by his comments others love him following their coattatils.
herbn knows it all,has comments to everything imaginable regarding trucks, but LACKS true experience.
herbn is maybe not experienced enough,or too fat,or whatever, thus he feels motivated to share his wisdom with the willing or unwilling world-he doesn't care,he posts it.
in the beginning herbn was concerned about the length of the kingpin(G.O.G.) because you might get stuck with it when cruisin to the liqour store or to donut-heaven.

that says enough about this character.

i really love answering questions regarding the truck which come from actual racers.
or from people involved in the biz with a vast construction knowledge.

i find all the dumb questions and statements of herbn absolutely annoying and i will not answer to any of those questions anymore in the future.

i am not trying to be arrogant, but your dimwit comments and questions really tick me off.

these trucks are made for people who race not for donut-guys.
and before you comment on stuff-maybe ride it?

what's your mission herbn?

maybe you should get a life one day or find a few friends!

Hey Herb, maybe you want to reserve such comments until AFTER you have tried them. I know your SO smart that you can look at a few online images and tell the world all there is to know about these trucks, but the truth is, the DO have differences, they DO feel different under foot, and you ARE annoying.

And those of us that are actually out skating and racing, I think we know how to bolt our trucks on.

Go buy some gullwings and be done with it, im sure they are more than enough for you.

GOG BUSHINGS
On 11/25/2006 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (84.62.nnn.nnn)

the bushings are just decorative.we do not recommend anything since the truck is made to accept aynthing.each rider has his own choice and we go from there.we could deliver the truck without any bushings at all and we got those reddish bushings which we think are really s#@!ty to be honest, but they serve their purpose.
did we tease you with the adjustables?
hmmmmmmmmmmm
they come out in two months.
the trucks are radikally improved and they turn different than a rad.
they feel different
they look different
they are top notch engineering
they have alsmost a year of input and skating in them before they were for sale

maybe you just skate on one of those trucks and you can make it up yourself what is better or not?

GOG bushings
On 11/25/2006 toddc wrote in from United States  (207.215.nnn.nnn)

I see the clear 'thane which is not identical to the krypto/radikal 'thane. How does it compare in diameter? thickness? Duro? Rounded edge? Lookslike Holey thane - though could be anything.

The rest of the design looks very Radikal except for some tunings.

We we're shown and teased with the "adjustable" GOG, and we're delivered the Radikally "improved" version. Can someone list the improvements (mounting rub...? others?)

Thanks.

HERBY
On 11/25/2006 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (84.62.nnn.nnn)

when we did those trucks in gthe first time it was just to have something on our own.we were fed up with waiting for replacement parts and all the other hassles involved in even scoring a R"§$%KAL.o there were no real intentions in selling those trucks at all.it was me who talked frank into mass-production.there's also a reason why frank never posts here or anywhere else-he doesn't want to take up with characters such as herbn or get involved in senseless discussion.
the trucks are good,i really like them and i also know that frank has considered a lot of points on the truck to make it good.
the pricing is as it is or should we do it for free?
a reason for the bad pricing is the current exchange rate, another reason is the fact that we have to ship them to the usa and another reason is richy who needs money for his new ferrari.
herby-you don't have to buy that truck, there's no need to.buy a bennett and you're all set.why is it that you worry about our pricing?

geezer:thanks for your compliments on both truck and board.i'll shoot you a mail and give you franks contact.
he would like to have your input on the truck and talk about some details.
that's input we highly value,herby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On 11/25/2006 Geezer-X wrote in from United States  (71.166.nnn.nnn)

These things RIP.

I also very much appreciate the lack of hype and BS on the behalf of the manufacturer.

It's really sensible and logical, the excecution is nice. Someone's gonna round out out the internal hex in the kingpin, cause slalomers in the main are manglers when it comes to caring for their stuff, but in all, a very, very nice bit of work. I got a red/blue one, but now I want black to match the PVDs on the back...

BTW the Pavel/Axe foamcore is also super. I'm really stoked to race next season.

I like you Herbn, but it seems ALL you do is theorize these days. The trucks rock, high price or no. So there is no need to point out your wonderful vision of the future, and say I told you so. No one cares about I told you so`s.

Go skate. Its not winter yet.

not that i really care
On 11/24/2006 herbn wrote in from United States  (205.188.nnn.nnn)

but the original discussion was that gog's were gonna be economical slalom trucks made for all the buds cutting cones, and radikals were called overpriced.Well they're the same price as radikals 175.00 ,and the adjustable ones WILL be more. Not that it's not normal or fair or whatever, but you told me(and anybody reading)that i was incorrect ,putting out false info on something i knew nothing about ,but i was just hypothesizing/guessing, and i wasn't off at all.
