Skully, I'll probably try it on an RT-X rather than an RT-S, but, my main question for now is what is that binding material around the spherical bearing in the hanger yoke? I thought about filling the space with JB Weld and baking it(if you bake it at about 150-200 degrees for 2-3 hours, it cures a LOT faster and a LOT harder, I used it to do axle re-do's in Trackers, TTC's, Splitfires and had great results).
What did you use?

Hey, I suppose this should be on the "trucks" forum, but I'll say it here since the pictures you posted are right here. Anyhow, THanks! I suggested that same thing for Indy's and Trackers a few years ago and I was told "that won't work", I asked why not, "because you need something like a Radikal", hmmmmm. Glad to see you and GOG are basically doing two versions of the same idea/geometry, I think someone else has done it also. If it were a few years ago, I'd probably buy the truck you have for sale.
Since you have actually done what I'm still thinking of doing with one(or several) of my 8mm'd Tracker RT-X's, is there any structural/shape reason you chose the Ace truck over a Tracker RT-X?, was it availability?, geometry preference? or something completely different. In response to Paul, here's the history of my short truck modifying "career". After seeing many posts about modifying trucks on some other fishy longboarding website, I decided to try my hand at it. The first truck I modified was a Paris 150, which didn't turn out perfect, but is still rideable, and I do ride it constantly. There was a debate on the mentioned website about whether or not a spherical bearing would work in an Indy. (Some thought it would not.) Due to the fact that the GOG Homer truck is similar to any "regular kingpin" truck, I was skeptical about these claims. I happened to get some Ace trucks for a good price, and after riding them without modification and really liking them, I decided to modify one. Since then I have done a few others also - currently playing with Bennetts. I call the Ace my poor-man's GOG Homer, and really like it. The underlying reason behind modifying the Ace had nothing to do with geometry preference, or anything besides the fact that I got some for cheap, and would not be out a lot of $ if I screwed up. ;)
As far as modifying a Tracker RTS, it would absolutely work, probably even better than the Ace's I have done, as the RTS's have a lot of "BEEF" in the bushing seat area.
If you do it, and since you have mentioned that you have multiple RTS's, add a spherical to the hanger, put it back together, and compare it with a non-modified. Then if you're doing multiples, finish one with sphericals in the hanger and the baseplate, and keep one with just the spherical in the hanger. It's quite fun comparing the differences as you put them together.

Hello. I just picked up a vintage Hosoi vert model Hammerhead, signed by Rodney Mullen from the late 80's. The trucks have a knife on one and an axe or hatchet on the other one. The logos are only on one side of each truck. Does anyone know the maker of these trucks? Thanks in advance for any help. Travis

I should have posted earlier, just forgot to. Anyhow, Mr James Peters brought one of his setups with the new Virage front and back trucks to my Salem Slalom Super Session thing and BBQ. I rode them and was pretty impressed by them. The front had that nice immediate response that comes from spherical bearing interfaces and the rear truck felt pretty solid as well. Looking at them up close the alignment appeared DEAD-ON STRAIGHT in terms of axles to axle, axle to kingpin and pivot lines, mounting holes on the baseplate, etc. Nice and simple to adjust or change things too. I forgot to ask what US dollar price they amounted to, but overall they seemed very race-worthy if seeking a slalom specific truck system. Thanks Stridey. -P

I've made a small batch of these. Very limited supply.
They make life soo much easier when changing bushes.
Make's it possible to just plug in the pivot and twist the hanger down onto the kingpin like normal trucks.
Also make the hanger compatible with all Randal baseplates so you can vary your setup even more.
Exact fit so they clamp into desired position when hanger screws are tight.

I am not sure if any of you old Pro riders are aware, but the Mission M1's hangers and bases can be swapped back and forth with the Pro hangers and bases. The catch is, you have to match the pivot cup to the specific hanger. The original Pro pivot cups are shallow, they do not let the hanger sit as deeply as the new stuff (and the replacement stuff). So if you run Pro hangers on M1 bases, use the shallow Pro pivot bushing. If you run M1 hangers in a Pro base, use the deeper M1 pivot bushing.
The cool thing here is that the guys who refuse to redrill their decks (why? who knows) now can have a far more readily available baseplate. The small run of 6 hole aluminum base plates that Walt did around 2004 are rarer than rare for sure, and you cant redrill the plastic baseplates because the mold webbing. So, there are not a lot of choices, but the M1 base fixes that.
As fas as feel, the M1 hanger is a tad higher (~1/8" or so). This gives the truck a tad more "tippy" feel, like a tracker and to a less extent like Indys, BUT the turning radius and feel is still very much like the GW Pro. You can run them loose and still have great stability.
Also, I hate to say it, the M1's feel like a Pro, except you lose that awesome GW trademark notch in the hanger. I am down to 5 pair (2 are spares). Once they are gone, I may seriously look at the M1. I know I will miss the center recess and the way they develope that sweeping arc from wheel to wheel from grinding on cement coping, but its the turning geometry that is engrained in my riding since 78/79 that pretty much makes anything else feel odd..
Also, if any of you guys have some spare pivot cups (red preferrably) let me know. Also, I may tool up some nylon versions in the future.

IMO, the Ace hangers are even better than Indy hangers, especially when you pair them with Core baseplates, longer kingpins, and Venom bushings.
