All right after getting my exkates last week for my new carving board I really liked what they did. They carve like u r really surfing the street it's sick. I have them on my G&S Fiberflex and it rips. Like I said earlier I also tried to mob some hills and found out that these are not the trucks for that. So anyway I wanted to fix up my Envy 57 with some new trucks also after riding the exkates and then going back to my indies on that. I went back to the Purple Skunk and Wendell hooked me up with the new randals. It was cool because guess who happened to be there when I was buying these? Randal himself. He helped Wendell get me the best setup and I could'nt be more stoked. These trucks turn almost as good as the exkates but are much better for hills. So having the exkates and the randals I can say that both are quality trucks. They both offer something different. That's why I now have a 2 board quiver. Just like my surfboards, I have a high performance 9' and a classic 10'. So I am totally stoked I just got back from skating with my bros in a parking garage up here in Newark and got kicked out but we had a blast. Keep cruisin'

Regarding Exkate rattle - the trucks have no compression. That combined with a 45 degree kingpin, especially in the rear makes sidewalk cracks into to real spine shakers. One way to alleviate the problem is to cut up some Doctor Shoals insoles, the heavy duty industrial worker types and stack two underneath the truck. It doesn't reaise the truck more than an 1/8 of an inch but it definitely takes care of half the rattle. Otherwise the rear truck on Exkates chews through bearings in a 1/4 of the time of a standard truck. Someone send me order info and specs on Randals.

Exkates live up to the hipe! Only problem I have is mine rattle real bad on rough roads. The king-pin and the axel side "stop cam" rattle together. Finally I put a nylon washer over the first one so it could be tightened down more. It worked but the trucks are alot more stiff. Any other suggestions? By the way I have blue bushings and am 180#.

I'm 180 lbs and I ride the blue bushings. After 20-25mph, it's borderline stability. Definitely considering going to a hrader bushing on a wider deck so I can still crank turns but get straightline stability.

Ok, let me get this straight...the black bushings are softer
and better for carving while the blue, red, and green ones
are better for bombing because of increased stiffness. Is
this correct? Where do yellow bushings fall in this rating
of stiffness? One final question...do all bushing companies
have the same color ratings for stiffness? I cruise the
streets to get to work but I also bomb a hill every now and
then. I just don't want to kill a fun day of downhill speed
with a major road rash so I'd like a bushing which gives me
the best of both worlds. Thanks to anyone who responds to
these questions!!

I'm about buying Exkate truck for multi-purpose
(Carve and small bomb) usage.I'm 150 pounds
Jackson told me they have 215 and 250 mm width.
Which one is better in your mind ?
So I think I'll buy the blue(medium)bush.
Many of you seems to think the harder the better even for
carving. let me know more about that.

Do not I repeat do not bomb any hills with these. I thought these exkates reduced speed wobble and found out the truth by almost putting myself in the hospital. They are great for carving but over 20 m.p.h and be prepared to eat it. I had them up to 30 plus and was all over the place I thought I was dead but just held on and made it. Be careful and have fun

Do they exist?
Yes- I have them.
They are even stiffer than the reds.
At first when I rode them, I thought they were *too* stiff, but now I'm used to them.
The reds seemed plenty stable at high speed though, and I haven't gone quite that fast on the greens yet.
I got the greens going *pretty* good down the highway, but not fast enough.
Also I had them at the most SUPREME skate spot I have ever found, and they were cool.
The ride isn't like with the blues, where you just twitch your ankle to turn, with the greens you need some power.
I would say get the reds, and if you go faster than they allow, then get the greens.

Just get the red bushes in (after some hammering of the trucks) and been for a cruise. For me this is definitely the best hardness of bush, I weigh 170lb's and consequently can still crank turns in the same way as with the soft black bush, but with LOADS more overall stability.
I can completely recomend this to heavier riders or anyone wanting to bomb hills on exkates, i've had them up to about 20-25mph and they are as solid as a rock, even with the ankles loose and standing high they dont wobble (which the blacks, with their sensitivity tended to).
I will NOT be changing back. Tho' I will try out the blues to see what they are like.

I like the design but I have yet to try them. They're definitely not of the rollerskate stone age design dominating the market today. The price seems good and they claim to have built in damping (a feature my Exkates could use). So if anyone out there has tried Jones trucks on a longboard send in the reviews.

I recently bought a set of randal trucks and put them on my Envy-TwinTip. Kick-ass handling combined with Zero speed wobbles @ 30-35 mph have made these trucks the best investment ive made on any of my longboard equipment. They should include an instructional manual called "Carving made easy". I mounted them on my pintail home-made (49") and there is nothing like it. In the 30 years of skating (yea i'm old school) I have never found anything more responsive and stable. Even xkate's turning radius is challenged by these trucks (in my opinion) and they have definatly stood the luge test and the test of time, the only problem i have found is a place (in FLA) to get these jewels. Anybody know where? I live in the Tampa Bay area, any info would be great!!!

KAPU TRUCKS

I've been riding the KAPU TRUCKS for awhile now and I still
can't find anything better. In the begining I thought they
were a litte high but thats what allows them to turn so
incredibly sharp!!! Much sharper than the Exkate Truck.
The KAPU TRUCKS seem to be more fluid in the turns and has a
softer ride than the Exkate. I no because I've recently
tried out one of there boards, because of all the hipe I've
heard. I'm not impressed! The KAPUs may not be as pretty
but they sure ride better.
I recently bought one of THE NEW D'ADV SKATEBOARD DECKS with
full rocker built in "SICK" I got the 47" noserider. Put
the KAPU TRUCKS on - took it for a spin - the hight factor
is gone!! You can't beat this complete set up!! There is
nothing that comes so close to surfing on land than this.
D'ADV & KAPU COMBINATION
TOTALLY STOKED!!!
