Hi Guys,I have a set of Stroker trucks I bought new in 1977. I only used them a few times. They were great for downhill, but not so great for freestyle or pools. I also made a set of aluminum wedges for them to change the rake. I'm debating selling them. Anyone interested?[img:39shqrea]http://alp-sys.c om/strokers/StrokerTrucks1.jpg[/img:39shqrea] [img:39shqrea]http://alp-sys.com/strokers /StrokerTrucks2.jpg[/img:39shqrea]

Santa Cruz Vintage Skateboard Collector Info!!
On 1/4/2010 vintageman wrote in from (66.245.nnn.nnn)

Posting per instructions by Steve In Ariz when I relayed this info to him!... You old timers will remember him on this site 2005-07, earlier? Then a son, and gone!  Yesterday got the most fabulous ANAL collector information from a former Pro Skater. I am sure you all have been wondering; How can one tell the difference between Color Logo Santa Cruz Skateboards 1975-79? Turns out its pretty easy...Note on either side of the SANTA CRUZ LOGO you will see lines. Single Line either side of logo it is 1975-76 issued. Double Line either side of logo it is 1977-79 issued! :o :o :o Now on the blue and orange, easy if holding deck as picture is difficult to see. There are severallines, but are so close essentially make up one line. The blue deck is 1975 issued per Jeff Kendallin a email to me 2004... So there you have it folks!!!!!!!! OH, I also noticed that on 1977-79 decksa USA is screened into logo area A mystery is solved! :D :DSantaCruzCollectionNov2009-1.JPG[/attachment:1356hg70]

I agree with you, I prefer do not restore this board.for the trackers, yes, I agree with you to! and it would be great to have trackers or lazers to put on it. But, here, in europe, I don't know why, it's as difficult to find LAZERS or TRACKERS trucks than it's easy to find ACS. maybe in the 70', ACS was more agressive sellers than the other companys. I didn't know ALVA rode for INDY. tonight, I'll re-read BUILT TO GRIND.....P.S: it's a big thing for me to have this ALVA board. When I started skateboarding, in 1977, he was my idol, and he is still my favorite skater 30 years later.
Other than pulling those ACS's and putting on some trackers....Alvas should have only trackers...[/quote:33og7fkr]Tony rode Lazer trucks after he got tired of being ignored by the Tracker team manager, then he got sponsored by Independent and has ridden Indy's ever since. Not sure what year TA got on team Indy. There are pictures of Tony riding bowls on his prototype Alva deck with blue bottom and yellow Alva logo, and he is riding Lazers.

even touching up that logo, or the tape, would completely destroy any value for that Alva....it would be as cheap as a home made fake....seriously....the scuff on the logo doesnt bring the value much lower than any other ridden one without the scuff....i wouldnt touch itOther than pulling those ACS's and putting on some trackers....Alvas should have only trackers...

well, I don't know for the ALVA restoration. sometimes, I do restoration, sometimes not. I like boards "dans leur jus" as we say in french, something I could translate by "in original use"?I think If I restore the blue logo, then I should restore the die cut grip, and also the board. I realy dont know....

With some patience and the right color paint, you could do a restoration of the blue Alva logo. The green Kryptonics wheels on that complete look like they were not skated much!

Skateboard Identification Question
On 11/10/2009 vintageman wrote in from (199.67.nnn.nnn)

Request for info on your Maherajah Skateboard...The following is IMO/personal experience and open to more knowledable sk8ter input!!! :D :D Maherajah Skateboards..... http://www.mahaskis.com/A water ski company that made skateboards on the sidefrom approx late 1976-80. Manufactured several different lengths/widths...That is my guess-ta-ment on manufacturing dates....Deck, the wood design does not quite look normal to me. Has more of ahobie in-laid wood style vs the rosewood style strips I am accustomed.I will post my Maha, and you can compare. Not in anyway questioning the autheticity!! Who knows why the look. Different tree/wood used??Tracker Trucks..... http://trackertrucks.com/one of the early "advanced" skateboard truck makers, still in biz today. I think are Tracker ful trucks, but guessing. (4.5 inch long hangers approx). Look at axles if threaded end to end is a first series. Although mids trackers never had that.Tracker haf and ful traks can be found with fully threaded axle for original bb style bearing wheels.I know several gurus on the subject of skateboard trucks.NCDSA truck guru often is Herbin.... I will defer to him and others of course!I have full set, early issue of Trackers will post Haf, Mid, Ful trackers truks...I know nothing about Powell Bones products. Check out the site was little difficult tonavigate for me... This is the vintage ad page. See their link for other info http://powell-peralta.com/history/ads/a ... 970%201979Powell Bones not OG (original to deck IMHO)... But thenMaha I do not think had any original OEM specifications/recommendations as to trucks and wheels.Bottomeline your deck in question is a very cool deck to vintage guys. I would ebay value it $125 to $250 depending on size of deck, if rookie bidder isbidding  and a few other odds and ends.cheersVintage ManMy Maheraja and Vintage Tracker Truck Collection: Haf, Mid, Ful TruksMaherajah-2.jpg[/attachment:31wds213]Sk8brdTrackerTruckCollection-2.jpg[/attachment:31wds213]
