I guess I'll be the first person to say a 6mm hole won't fit over a 5/16" (7.9375mm) axle.

the sleeves have a 6mm inside hole to fit around your axle. the spacer which fits around the sleeves has a 7mm hole which is the same size as the inside of the bearing.

Do the sleeves that come with these bearings have an 8mm hole or a 5/16" hole? It seems like it would be relatively easy to make this part with a 5/16 hole, and then we'd finally have bearings that fit standard skate axles.

Already asked this on the wheels forum but just to be sure: I note the new SIN bearings on longskate have a larger inner diameter due to more balls and so come with some sleeves and a spacer - can I assume these only work with the standard 10 mm space? Or can I substitute an 8 mm spacer (suitable for rollerskate wheels such as Stradas) for whatever they come with?

I got some of these bearings for the site because they use 9 balls in each rather than 7. They are very cool! The system-spacers work perfectly in power paw aluminators. the first thing I noticed was they spin as long as my Broken In Bones Swiss straight out of the box! I tested the silver steel ones-I can only imagine how good the ceramic golds are. Roger, how do you like yours?

Dear fans of advanced skateboard carving performance,
We were, unfortunately, far too optimistic about the timetable for simultaneously moving production from one factory to another *and* implementing major design changes. This has resulted in unexpected, embarrassing and unprofessional delays.
But we've got things on track now. Composite trucks, and all spring strengths, will be available again very soon, and at substantially lower prices.
The introduction of all-metal versions of the Seismic truck has been delayed until later this year, as many have already deduced. But the end result will be better than originally planned: • more widths • cooler shapes • lighter weight • a better approach to implementing the 6-hole mounting pattern (a significant challenge given the unique structure of the Seismic truck)
We thank you for your patience and support through this transition. Please contact us by phone, fax or email with any questions or feedback.

The 70mm are due to hit in the summer. They are needed by buttboarders who are limited to the 70mm wheel max rules. A lot of small core wheels including slalom are soon to follow. I'll ship 'em wherever there's ships!
p.s. In the future, post this kind of question in the Vendor's Corner where I can give you more details.

Valuable Expo Booth Space Available

This is an offer to any gravity sports vendors, retailers, manufacturers, and organizers.
Blue Smoke Racing LLC (me) have obtained valuable booth space at a traveling adventure and extreme sports consumer expo for "free" in turn for providing an interactive display of the gravity sports at the show for the consumers. A few weeks ago the DC Downhill Club and I had done this near my home in Washington DC and the booth and interactive luge and standup part was big hit. The people putting on the expo were extremely impressed with the crowds hanging around the booth wanting more info and getting to push a luge around the floor. They were so impressed that they offered me free space at all the remaining shows in Fall 2001 and will advertise that we will be there, but they regret that they could not pay my expenses to get there. Since I have no product except the sports themselves to sell, I cannot afford to travel to the shows unless I find corporate support or sponsorship for my expenses.
The sponsor will get booth space for adverstising and/or product sales without the risk and high cost of a booth at these shows. The remaining shows are in Portland Oregon, Boston, Atlanta and Philidephia all in the fall of 2001
Please contact me soon if interested. (they are begging me to sign a contract soon)

Kludy Wheels

Hey Rick (Kludy), I will definitely be running my wheels. I'm not sure which of those riders who have my wheels are going to be competing at St. George. Most of the slalom racers don't do stand up or streetluge and most of the local Huntington Beach longboarders aren't into any type of racing. I don't think that any of the South Africans are coming either. None of the photographers, graphic artists, computer gurus, family members or friends are going to be racing.
Why do you ask?

Relic, No bother! I am currently the sole distributor. I am ramping up for online sales to skaters and stores alike. The retail prices should be in line with other similarly sized wheels. Low to mid thirties for the 74mm, low to mid fifties for the 83mm, low to mid seventies for the 92mm, low to mid nineties for the 101mm. Those with a reseller number can buy cases (of 24) for wholesale. Sales tax shouldn't apply to orders outside of California. Shipping is what it is. Handling is a four letter word.
Hang in there, we're getting close!

Abec 11 Unleashed

The wheels will be released on May 1st. It was brought to my attention that certain riders felt that the Abec 11 wheels would be giving a competitive advantage to only those who had purchased them well in advance of the St. George Utah race. Although IGSA's Marcus Rietema has cleared the Flywheels for take-off, I thought it would be best to avoid the appearance of impropriety. I decided to release the wheels after the race which does indeed provide valuable world cup points. This way, no one can say that wheels were only sold to certain riders, and not to others.
For those who don't understand the intent of the IGSA rule, they want to avoid someone from making "one-offs". A handful of wheels that are only good for a few runs and would provide an advantage that is not made available to others. The rule states that "If a particular wheel proves to have a significant performance advantage and is not made commercially available for a reasonable price, it could be specifically banned in the future. Commercially available means the product must have been distributed to at least 24 people outside the company." Someone could make the argument that if 21 vendors bought out all of the wheels (2 cases per vendor at 24 wheels per case) then only 21 people got wheels. Realistically, that's over 1,000 wheels which is enough to set up over 250 boards! And yes, technically I could go down to Skid Row and hand out 1 wheel to 24 different street urchins and satisfy the rule. In the interest of fairness, I chose the other path.
I am flattered that the Abec 11 wheels are being considered to provide a competitive advantage. I am sorry for those who have waited in eager anticipation of the release of these wheels. I am fully dedicated to putting out the best product that I can and I appreciate your patience.

since Alien makes Reflex a good guess would be they should work in they're own wheels,Popped a bearing in one,and,,,9.9 mm between bearings, 10mm spacer,608 bearings are 7mm wide 6900's abs are 6mm,wait,they go in to the same seat, right? so there's still 10mm between them, unless there's a 1mm ring that goes in under the bearing?so the spacer between the bearings should still be 10mm,and the adaptors to the axle ,should have 11mm sleeves+maybe 1mm flanges,24mm total.Custom stuff will be needed to run them in my Cherry Bombs, once again happy to own a lathe.

Herb, Yup, I gottem. I've also got 14.3mm spacers but I'm not sure yet of which wheels of mine they'll work in (I'd love to be able to use the bearings in PP 11mm spacer wheels, so let me know what the minimiser equivelent would be, if you know it). I'm actually already waiting on a set of "Primo Ultra" minimisers, but the retailer I ordered them from seems to be pulling my chain. I waited 1.5 months for him to send it out and when I got it, it was generic, grease-filled minimiseres (not what he originally described to me). If he doesn't come through soon, I'll email you asking for the real deal.
