This is a wild controversy because I too know who the unmentionable retailer is. I love being in the loop.

I remember brainstorming with Dan all through the twilight hours for many a day in the early ‘80's and have had conversations with him while he was perfecting his design. At some point I would have to admit I may have been disenchanted with this industry and could have expressed my disinterest in continuing with furthering the work and design, but Dan plodded on. The energy and time expended by him far exceeds the monetary rewards he has received to this day. Now someone has decided that the time is right to make money from his creation?
I would say steal G-Trucks and send the money to Dan!
...but then you'd still be stuck with garbage.

Thanks for all the info. I'll wait. In the meantime, I still need to put a slalom deck to get me by. I'll probably go with the 7 ply Stinger as I like wider boards. But I still need a good truck to go with them. How good are R 2 150's for slalom? Are there better alternatives for this deck aside from Seismics?

As for the "buzz" about the g-trucks, sounds great, but then I don't think I couldn't live with myself.
I understand the demand, I'm waiting and I understand that they won't be available until winter, oh well at least there are no slalom competitions coming up.
After meeting Dan, all I can say is; "Why would you?" seriously, Dan isn't making millions or anything near that. He's just a smart guy with a great product, trying to meet the growing demand of impatient skaters.
The reason seismics aren't available, is because he's contracting for lower costs, better materials, more sizes, and attention to detail. Sounds like a guy whos dedicated to our happiness. Hmmm, I hope you all realize that seismics are worth the wait. Sometimes great things take a little while.

Dan, After riding your trucks at the Cambria practice session for the first and only time and then getting the chance to talk with you at the Saturday night racers meeting about all that you have put into these trucks - I am sold!! I too am longing to get a couple sets of these trucks. However, I for one, am waiting for the REAL DEAL! Keep us posted on your progress. Skate Fast! Gareth (MB #39)

Thanks Pre-school!!! I was curious of their construction, and had wrongfully assumed they were just ply construction, glad to hear its not so(you know what they say about assumtions). I have considered purchasing one, and actually plan to by the end of the summer, especially at less than a 100bucks, you pretty much can't beat it!!!Rockered no less:)

Barfoot Boards

Stevem, just a note on Mr. Barfoot's boards-They are definately NOT just plywood! Chuck has one luxury that many in this industry don't have-his own factory. That means he can put his thirty plus years of skate/surf/snowboard knowledge into his boards, and then into your hands(under your feet)for less than many 'corporate' brands can sell the mass produced repaints for.As for laminate quality,Barfoot boards are quite nice, though not as flashy as some vertically laminated boards. If you want a good looking board that rides smooth, and don't want to pay for someone's logo,I'd say this is the board... An aside note-Chuck can still mop up most snowboarders on the hill.I had the pleasure and honor of riding with him at Stratton a few years back-how many snowboard CEO's would go out and RIDE with a prospective customer? Since '78,Barfoot has been making some mighty nice snowboards.I've owned 6 over the years, and have two SK8 decks of his, too.Good boards, all of them.

I almost recomended that to you, that guy sells one every 3 or 4 days. But you specified 48" and up, and thats 47". That is a great deal though!!!! If you are patient I've seen em go for around 95- and thats pretty cheap. Of course, as far as I can tell it IS plywood.

The G-Truck, a low-cost licensed copy of the patented Seismic technology, has been extinct for some time. The maker of the G-Truck was never allowed to sell his product in America. This is probably a hoax, but to whomever this may concern, please be advised: I am the owner of a US patent on the Seismic truck technology, and trying to sell the G-Truck in America is an easy invitation to a patent infringement lawsuit. My patent attorney is chomping at the bit. How much of your money would you like to deposit in my bank account?

Gee, maybe you should check out Ed Economy's long boards, if you can't "surf" those to satisfaction, then I don't know what to tell ya. Are you looking for solid planks, or vert lam? wow, sounds like heavy/breakable(for solid) and expensive hard to find(vert lam). Psst, I have a bar of soap for that dirty mouth...there are children here :) thanks.

ok vendors here's what I want so you better make quick or I'll get mad.
nice and long 48" and up, styled after old 50's longboard surfboards, The only boards I can find are the Duke Kahanamoku boards, now those are pimpin but they are damn expensive, we're skateboarders for fuck's sake we don't have money, and if we do, we spend it all on beer and sluts. Now get to work.

Here's a little buzz. A certain US retailer who shall remain nameless at this time will be getting an order of G-trucks in a few weeks. So just hold your breath a bit longer, they will be here. Oh yeah, they'll have Silver Springs for sale too.

Jumbo Camber Pumpkin Longbow 120 cm, Bones HCs, double-wedged RIIs

Must go with the hardcores from Bones to avoid the dreaded RII squeaky bushings.
Nothing floats or pops like the 5" camber Pumpkin Superbow in the 48" length. Never breaks traction either, distributes forces between front & rear like nothing else.
Not a board you can slide, because you can never get a get a hard shock down to the wheels; the suspension just absorbs it.
Rear wheels breaking loose under hard pumping? Not with the the damping effect of 5 inches of floaty camber. True, more of a workout to kick up hills, but you can pump up all the slight inclines and pump up to 18-20 mph on the flats due to the 44" wheelbase.
With most boards, you can't really pump over 12-14 mph because the wheelbase isn't there. With this, you have to kick it as fast as you can go to even begin real pumping. Once you're there, high speeds are sustained.
Double-wedged RIIs keep it carvy enough to shred off speed down hills.

Actually Hugh, the wedged Invaders that Ed Econ. put on the things turn surprisingly well. They turn much better than Indy 215's. I would think you'd also have to redrill, to have the wheel wells line up with RII's. I can, with the wedged Invaders, turn almost as tight as I can on my Big Worm with Exkate 201's but without the added height.

My Ed board is my most prized skate right now!! I can't get enuff of it. 57 inches & 17 ply. Who knows how many trees Ed killed to make this thing, but it must have been alot. My wife asked, "is that your new Supertanker" and I answered, Naw, that my Aircraft carrier.
Marc, I took off the R2's and put on Indy 215's on angled risers and used those yellow Hardcores-turns much better(you were right).
