Seismic Axles

Dan,
Please use only 8mm axles. It really makes a big difference in fit. I have had problems with every other truck manufacture, but never a problem with Seismics. 8mm diameter is very much worth the extra expense.
Ideally the axle length of the 110 should be much much longer to accommodate large spacers (8mm) between hanger and bearing to fine tune hanger widths. I have seen the 135 cut down to 110 leaving the extra long axles and think that it works very well.
I have a set of 110 on order, and will buy more sets - but only if the axle is 8mm!
Thanks, Roger

Please note: At the earliest opportunity, we will increase the length of the Seismic axles to accommodate wheels that take up to a 12mm bearing spacer. We apologize for any inconvenience that our factory's initial oversight is causing.
Scabs, SolidSkate got its order before Longskate and Poolskater due to an unfortunate confluence of freight-forwarding mishaps. No ill intended. We are an equal-opportunity vendor!
I am personally available at all times to address any questions or concerns that users may have. Thank you!

I put it together in a bit over a day last week. I really needed another 4-6 hours to clean it up a bit, but time ran out. Thanks for the props. I'm glad slalom made a showing at ASR and that Turner is back, Seismic is back in production and races are happening.

thanks SimFuciuos,
I'll be starting work on the Cambria video this week. It'll be the same deal as the Hamm Slam. For a preview of Cambria footage http://www.turnerdownhill.com/images/asr2001/TurnerPromo.mov
Speaking of Hamm Slam, there are less than 10 videos left. Get yours now.

Ya know, when you have your equipment dialed in just right, everything seems to happen automatically. It was like that for my slalom setup yesterday. I tweaked the trucks a little and voila! The board seemed to just go wherever I looked and then sprang back as if it knew I had another tough gate on the other side. This "return to center" is a feature that conventional trucks just don't do well. Generating speed by pumping was quick from the start and then fast and furious without ever feeling sketchy. It came about without too much effort. For the style of course that we ran in Gaithersburg, the Seismics could not be beat.
Thanks Dan for giving me a competitibve advantage over "conventional wisdom". I look forward to trying the Seismics on the upcoming Turner/Abec 11 combos. Win-Win-Win.

NCDSA- I am in the process of gathering some Really Rare skateboard equipment to auction on eBay next week(after I take photos) and I thought this might be a good place to let people know about it.(See a few items Below) -Bill Hanes(Variflex)Slalom Board-This is an “Ick Stick” made by Rick Howell for Variflex in the late 70’s/early80’s The board is near-mint(NO-Dings or Chips at all!)Reserve will reflect this. (28.75 x 8) -Winterstick Graphite Slalom Board-This board was made by an early snowboard manufacturer,It is a Foam core with Graphite on top and bottom. The board is incredibly strong for a weight of only 15ozs. This is probably the Rarest slalom board there is! I have only seen (2) other skateboards made by “Winterstick” and they did not even come close to the construction masterpiece this board is.(27.5 x 7.95) -Green Kryptonics Slalom Wheels-No Cores ,First Editions!(Ridden only a couple of times, still have sharp molding edges) -Tracker Magnesium Mid-Tracks-This is the smallest size Magnesiums Tracker ever produced(They Never made Mag. Half-Tracks)These have been used very little and they had copers on them when they were.(Paint Chips Only-No Grinds!)

Makes me wonder if that axle and nut are going to be 5/16 rather than 8mm, it would bring the cost down a lot versus the 8mm. It would be a shame, but I don't like the older fastener since different wheels adapt poorly, and its hard to set your wheels...keep the 8mm, add the nut, that's the ideal.
