Lugedemon,
try solidskate.com for the M-80's. That's where I got mine.
These wheels have the most amazing grip. We went sliding yesterday and after a while the DH stayed in the car because I could not for the life of me get these things the break traction. If you need traction, these wheels are for you. Dave

Ooops--I meant to put that on decks!!!
I do really like the Exkate M-80's. These things really grip and are really fast. Being wider than Cherry Bombs they would be slower due to more rolling resistance but I've never ridden Cherry Bombs and these are by far the fastest wheel I've ever come accross. The Swiss Bones are'nt even close to broken in and they fly! Dave

I've zoomed a few streets and bombed a few garages now. All in all rode it about an hour. Basically my early impressions just match what others have said about this board. Turns on a dime and thusly could become a favorite carver. Will take some getting used to to become comfortable at speed. I even got mild wobbles, but the Randal Downhills were as loose as they could be. My pre-truck-mounting feelings about the riding area being too narrow and short are unfounded. My feet actually fit perfectly on it. I can't wait to tighten up the trucks and go at it again. I really like the back/rear angle piece for placing your back heel on while in a tuck. Late Dave

Ed,my experiences with these wheels leaves me believing that the Hypers are a tad bit faster. There is an exception,'cause on rougher tar,the smaller core of the Kryptos puts more vibration absorbing urethane under the axles,so they'll rule on older road surfaces. The 82A in front,78A rear combo is fast, and handles well, too. My Hyper Mundos are among the faster wheels I own,but they're 76mm cousin, the Fu Manchu/Livewire,Krypto 76mm are faster yet.

Hey guys, what are you thinking,i was just asking myself which of the 2 setup possibilities is the fastest one(i mean both, velocity and speed).1.setup: on the front truck i use 70mm krypto 82a and on the back truck also 70mm krypto but 78a.2.setup:on both trucks i use 71mm hyper wheels 78a(they are much more narrow than the kryptos).Thanx for your opinion,Ed

hey french dude, from my experience and from what i've heard bigger wheels lasts longer, and harder ones slide farther. i am probably going to get some bones or the green classic ks for my new sliding wheels. in my opinion, the softies like 78a wheels won't last long enough through several slides and don't slide as far either.

Best sliding wheels ?

New to longboard, I ride for a few months a 48"Supaflex Dragon Pintail (french stuff) with 7" Indie's trucks, pretty cheap S9 70mm 78a wheels and Bones Swiss bearings and just wondered how to improve my sliding skills by changing my wheels. Do wheels size and durometer really matters ? If positive, what's the best compromise between grip at high speed and sliding abilities ? Should I get smaller harder ones or bigger stiffer wheels ? Just let me know what you think. Thanks.

Scomo, I'll back up what Mark said. I too use Bones Bomers (68mm/85a) on my board and their great for sliding. I haven't tried the 90a's though. Now you have two people who answered your post. Later.

About your supercruiser. 76 mm wheels is ok on that board, I've seen several people that had that size mounted. There are bigger wheels than 76mm, Exkate make wheel called "Cherry Bombs" and they are 82mm. If you can use them with standard trucks and risers on your board i don't know. but I don't think that they would give you a good ride if the surface are rough (which it often is in cities, but I'm not sure... If I were you I would get a set of kryptos. They provide a really good ride. most of the bigger wheels have hubs which make them less shock absorbing (but faster on a smooth surface). Cehck out the wheel page on www.solidskate.com for more wheels...
I ride my supercruiser with 65mm wheels and my downhill board with exkate 76 mm turbos. Both are ok, but the turbos are a little slippery, and the 65 mm are a bit small I will buy 70mm when they wear out... probably 70 or 76 mm kryptos, provide better traction (according to me...I have just tried kryptos on other peoples board)

wheel bite

richard, just get someone to stand on your board in your living room and lean as far to one side as they can. if the wheels hit, you've got wheel bite. also, you can't just ride over cracks, lift the front up a little bit.

i have a super cruiser complete (with pivot 146 trucks + angled raisers). can i put 76 mm wheels on this without getting wheelbite? im very new to longboarding... are there any bigger wheels than 76mm? i want to ride as smooth as possible. i just moved to NYC, the sidewalks have huge cracks here and there, some of them cause an abrubt and stop followed by some airtime and painful landings. bigger wheels would prevent that i think. all help appreciated. thanks
