Richy: Thanks for posting the flyer. I hope this brings out a few new ( and old) faces.
There will be yet another underground BIG FLATLAND JAM on Sunday April 27th at the Castro Valley Community Center Basketball courts at noon. I'll see who I can drag out of the woodwork for that one, Clif Coleman, Ray Meyers??? Aaron Guerra, the newst member of the Casper team will be there along with some of the other new generation of freestylers active in the No Cal area. C U There!

Hey Long, Thanks you have inspired me even more to keep on chargin freestyle! When I am spinning 360s or doing kickflips I will be stoked that a dork like you thinks that all freestylers are one dimensional, I am from the old school as are many of the freestylers who go on here that are well rounded in all types of riding! Any one who was on the pepsi team in the 70s did freestyle including all the narly pool legends that you have posters of on your wall.

Hi M.G. if you are looking for an old style Freestyle setup; single kick no concave, Casperindustries offers them.
Take a look at www.casperindidustries.com Online shopping is available as well. Here is a link to some actual shot of Casper Freestyle decks; the black one in the middle is the single kick version. http://home.arcor.de/skateyoyo/Fotos/Casper_Freestyledecks.jpg

Hi guys,
I just found this forum. I like it. A lot of sites to check. Familiar names. This is giving something to read.
I am a freestyler from Holland. Didn't freestyle for many years. Picked it up again at the age of 36. Thanks to the internet, sites like this.
Basically I am trying to get more people into freestyle in Holland. We are going to skate together in a couple of weeks, in Amsterdam. If you are reading this and you live in Holland, send me an Email.
I also have a homepage. A lot of photos which you have never seen! Harris, Mullen, Pierre-André, Jean-Marc, Welinder and more. Enjoy.

Re-read my post. I know who invented it, it was Yoyo Schulz. I was asking him specifically about the trick. I merely mentioned that the only other people I've seen do it were Mark Gonzales and Rodney Mullen. Yoyo himself knows of few people who can actually pull it off (I'm talking about actually rolling into them without taking your feet off the board, not a street plant). The actual Yoyo plant has never been popular, it's far too hard for most people to pull off. Most people don't even know what it is or even realize when they see one that it's different from a street plant.

The Rose Bowl Flatland Jam hosted by Matt Parks will be held in praking lot 'K', this Sunday, March 16th, from around 10am to around 3pm.
If it rains, the new date will be Sunday, March 30th, at same place and time.
Directions to the Rose Bowl and lot 'K' can be found on this site: www.rosebowlstadium.com/stadium/direct/direct.html
Bring your own food and drinks. Closest food is a 5 min. drive away. Restrooms are near by.
Lynn Cooper and others from the Venice Jam will be there as well as other inland locals and friends of Matt Parks.
Venice was a blast and I'm sure this will be also. (see photos of Richy below)
The April flatland jam will be in Orange County some where. Any suggestons?
This is part of a Jam-On-A-Roll promotion to develop flatland communities around the world, make new friends, discover new talent, and increase the talent pool available for contests. I would like to help who ever is interested set up a 4 jam series in their area. The general concept is to have a series of 4 jams, a month apart and around 50 miles apart. This concept allows some of the skaters at one jam to be able to make the next jam. This way skaters get to know each other and will be able to develop a local "flatland community' that will be able to plan more jams, contests, or other events.
There are now 4, Jam-On-A-Roll series planed. I hope to increse that number to 100 world wide in the next 6 months.

Have you ever performed in front of 17.000 people? On a stage, semi-slippery surface; lights, fireworks, loud music ??? Well, we did give a great performance yesterday. The Bravo Supershow 2003 was pre-recorded for several TV broadcasts across the nation. We are talking about lots of teenagers (mostly girls though) and top 40 songs, but on the otherhand a GREAT opportunity to present Freestyle to the masses and a potential target market. We were part of a group of trial bikers, three Flatland BMX guys and two Flatland Skateboarders (Ullrich Schoenborn and YOYO Schulz). Our mission was to do a background performance while the band BUSTED was playing their first song. BUSTED were nominated the „newcomer band 2002 „ at this show, so you can imagine how wild the crowd went when they announced that they were going to play later on. The guys were performing in the middle of a big stage and the other groups were doing their stunts on the left and right stage, so actually we were not in the background. It was an incredible atmosphere and everyone was cheering us at the end of the show and even the BUSTED guys were stoked, because they did nor know what to expect as we had not rehearsed before the show ! There will be several TV broadcasts in the next few weeks on German TV, see the dates below.
Flatland FREESTYLE ROCKS BIG TIME in 2003 !!!
