Yes,hmmmm that G&S freestlye masters board reminds me of the one and only Jason Catalono. He stayed one summer at Kieth butterfields house and the next contest beat him. Kieth quite after that and was never seen again. Now lets get back to my main focus and thats stroller slolom or cane slolom my Grampa is the best slolom racer out there he scored a 99 in tight slolom in front of my moms house. Some peaople my Grampa admire's are Bruce Logan, Henry Hester, Rene Carasco, and his brother Richy he says those guys are the fastest in the world and can beat anybody on the circuit today. Well I got to go my mom says lights out. Dagoo

Yeah Roller Balls! The deck looks circa 77-78ish... that transition from solid wood to plys... which is why it would be kinda rough. I don't remember that model though.

Well, the wheels look like G&S Roller Balls, which were a round wheel all the way.Once you wore them down, the running surface got wider. I have no info on the deck though.
A Happy and Healthy 2004 to all of you out there.
Great new sk8kings website! See you in Switzerland again

Mr. Bean,
I came across this one at a garage sale... couldn't talk the guy out of a custom TA built deck, but he's going to be digging some other treasures out of his storage unit for me to take a look at soon!
No markings on the wheels except for the perfectly symetrical lathe-type marks (though I suppose they could be part of the mold) The color reminds me of a kryptonics wheel, but the feel reminds me of a powell perelta.
All I've been able to find out so far is that Chuck Webb rode for G&S in the 70's.
The deck is very light and doesn't appear to be of a paticularly high quality material... it's finish is painted on, but through some wear on the the tail, I can feel the wood... course grain, light colored (doesn't feel like maple... maybe ash or poplar or similar)
Thanks, HR

Great site Maria!!! Congratz on a masterpiece.
The hard work really shows. The site reads very well and surfs well and most of all it tells a wonderful story of the kick ass revival of flatland freestyle and slalom over the last several years. An excellent blend of lasting legend power and hot young blood. That one great low angle shot of Nils brought tears to his grandpas eyes. Well done. Everyone should check it out.

Wow, HughR, where'd you find that score?
I don't recall that deck at all. I'll have to bust out the old Skateboard World and Action Nows to see if I can place it. The wheels look familiar, are there any text/print on them???

SK8KINGS.COM site re-launch
Just wanted to let everyone know that our web site has undergone a pretty major overhaul and after months in the making -- the new version is finally on line.
Some of the new things you will find include extensive photo galleries, a video theatre, team rider profiles, news and much more. The goal for 2004 is to help keep the heart and soul of skateboarding rolling along and hope our SK8KINGS web site can be a tool to grow the stoke. Check it out: SK8KINGS WEB SITE
Happy New Year to all. Looking forward to seeing you all at the next HB flatland event -- date coming soon!!!! Shooting for the second or third week of February.
PS -- Bob -- your plans sound great! I'm working on a calendar for the new web site which will include both flatland and slalom events as well as anything else I get wind of. Should be added next week. If you have a list of events thus far -- please send to me so I can be sure to list. Cheers!

Thanx Rene for the ASR pictures. You have been a great supporter of the WFSA and its events through out the year. Most of us on the inside know you and know how much you are involved with all areas of the skate world and I would like others to be able appreicate your dedication and visit your web site from time to time.
I need to know what the slalom schedule is for 2004. All the jams and contests I do in California must fit around that schedule because so many key skaters that I work with are involved with slalom.
WFSA is in the process of setting up the WFSA International Foundation to be the body that acquires major grants and then gives out the funds to various WFSA chapter groups and their projects. If any of you are interested in being on the board of directors please let me know. The board elections will be on the 20th. It is all about fund raising so board members mostly just review grant applications and proposals both in and out going and make recommendations and vote. Piece of cake.
Officers will be elected at this time also, so Rene, I suggest that you consider running for president. Thanx, Bob

The Venice Flatland Jam scheduled for Dec. 27th at noon has been expanded to include the Venice Skateboard Association and SPAUSA. This will be an end of the year skate party for all three organizations. WFSA-LA, SPAUSA, and VSA have interacted numerous times this year on a variety of skate projects and now it's time to play with the kids and give a little recognition to the hard working volunteers that made the wheels go round.
The party will include street, flatland freestyle, and high jump skate activities in a ghost jam format. Grab bag give aways and probably pizza will round out the event.
So get all your Christmas present return issues out of the way on Friday and join us on Saturday the 27th for hours of fun.

I forgot to give you guys Lynn Coopers web site, in case you don't know it already. It's www.skatelegends.com I don't know if any of you need graphics for anything. whether it's for a web site, shirt, sk8 deck, business card or what not. I am taking graphic design and I also majored in fine art for over 10 years now. I can do these things for a fare price, if any one is interested. You can view samples of my art work at www.artistitouch.biz . I Recommend the flash version of my site, unless you have a really old dinosaur computer that can only handle Javascript. I have a Java version of my site Too. talk to you all later, and If I don't hear back from any of you befor then, Have a Merry Christmas, If you don't Celebrate Christmas, Have a good Holiday!

To all of you that responded back to my last thread, Thankyou for responding back. It's nice to hear back from some people that I vagely remember. I do remember the name John Leathers, I just can't put a picture of you in my head since it's been a while. I haven't heard anything from Jeremy Ramey or Mike Kinney for a long while. My brother Terry is doing o.k. He can't skate any more due to artheritus in his ankles. He works at pearl vision, loves to play with slot cars and play video games. So he is still a big kid at heart, just more limited then before. He has his own web site based on slot car racing. The web site is www.geocities.com/vulcanspeedway/ . I could easily say that Jeremy Ramey was another good entrapanuer for me, as well as Mike Kinney. I saw that Jeremy ranked high scores for doing a lot of power moves, and Mike for his technical tricks. I just thought they all looked pretty cool. So I worked pretty hard on those tricks. I also had the good fortune to Sk8 with these guys atleast 2-3 times a month. I have the most recent SK8 video up on my web site. They are a bunch of short Freestyle clips grouped into one mini movie from the show Reading Rainbow. It has myself, Mike Kinney, Fabian Kravits, My younger Brother Jimmy Trimble Rollerblading, and Credits at the end for my Brother Terry, since he was the one that recruited all the skaters for this t.v. show. I feel that My brother deserves a big hand and hats down to him, since he did a lot for the sport. He not only helped run these casl and nsa contests, but he sponsored skaters during the terror at the towers contest when they lost their other sponsors. He helped build ramps 2 nights before the competitions. He really enjoyed doing these things for all of us and I feel that he still deserves recognition for his efforts to this day. Some people are remembered for their fame, fortune, or athletic abilities, and some are remembered for their infinite desire to help others. That's what Terry did a lot of, He always enjoyed helping people and still does. I gave you his web site link already, and it's your decision whether you want to e-mail him from his site or not. Best Regards, John Trimble p.s. If any of you would like to e-mail me in the near future you may do so by just clicking on my name above each of these threads. Also if you want to see the new video, you can visit it their at www.artistitouch.biz/Talents.html Also If any of you would like to get some videos of you skating in competitions, you probably would want to talk to Lynn Cooper, since he did a lot of filming at a lot of skate events.

John, you are very fortunate to have video of your comp routines. The one thing that bugs me about when I use to compete is that I have no video of those routines. I dug them!
And it was soooo great to see Lynn's video especially him doing a trick I had worked on but never mastered, the pogo impossible to pogo. What a sweet move!
Nice site too. You can be sure I'll be back to look at your artwork. St.John
