Holy crap, Jeff Goad! That video put such a smile on my face. I have to wonder how it ends though. Did the rider (you?) have to frantically slow down to prevent flying off into an empty pool at the bottom?

Great video of the waterslide. I'll connect through St Louis next flight out to Ca and I'll claim security check problems made me miss my connection. I've got an Aunt there to visit anyhow.
To keep that spot running with no problems make sure you don't park your cars where they could be seen by a trooper.
"Hmmmm why are there cars here..... ohhh hmmm skateboarders... lets watch and see what they are up to.... Hello this is car 79-K I'll need a big transport van and restraints 10-4."

Hey Jeff, That video is great. What is that thing, was it made for skating? Whatever it is, it looks fun as hell. You have an interesting method of stopping. Peace

Hey Kids! It has been a long time since I posted, so I hope everyone is doing good. I have been a bad boy and not logging into the greatest page on the internet, so I have been out of touch for like three years...
Anyway, I finally posted a short video clip of a "Coleman Slide" (four years later, I finally get a video capture card...)
This footage is of Scott at the infamous "Scott's Creek" run. This footage is from an "offical" NCDSA meet back in 1998,(before the lawyers got involved, and shut down the "offical" part) and it is a killer shot of a classic Coleman Slide, set to some original music (That's me on the drums!)
You can download it on my page... I have posted it at the top so you kids won't have any problem finding it...
Go check out the video and download it, and if you want to drop me an email, do it.
You can find it here...

Stevie B.- thanks for askin'......but I don't know exactly what film clip it is your askin' about. You gotta remember - in those 1970's- skateboarding was boomin'!! A lot of skaters like my bros. and I - were getting skateboarding related work; [ Pepsi Team demo's- commercials- motion pictures -television shows- stunts- etc.] unfortunately, a lot of people were filming our skate stunts- and you sometimes did not know where that film would end up ; or who was gonna make dough off of it! But man , I gotta tell ya- that was the best time of my life! Definitely!did I spell that right? Hey! Stevie- you can catch the Carrasco Bros. in a cool skateboard documentary that is playing around the world [except the U.S.- would you believe that?]....it is titled: "The Concrete Wave"- the history of skateboarding. I believe it is playing on British Television. Our interviews were filmed right in front of my house! We put on an "Old School Skateboard BBQ- at the Carrasco House" back in 1999- and a lot of old pro's showed up -and the whole place was lit up with lights and camera's! The film crew came in from Canada! Oh yeah- check out the brand new book "SKATELEGENDS"- it's hot!!! p.s. - look at page 63! Praise God! Amen! God bless you Stevie- ..........................Rene -the pepsi kid- Carrasco.

Hey Glen, here's some more trivia from the movie SKATEBOARD-remember the Palmdale Skateboard Championship in the movie? We actually filmed that scene inside Devonshire Downs Auditorium in the Valley. They put up banners everywhere saying Palmdale [to make you think that you're in the desert- and they had a lot of people wear cowboy hats in the crowd]. Tony Alva, Bobby Piercy, Me, Lief Garrett, Chad Mcqueen, and Richard Van Der Wyck were in that ramp/slalom race scene. It was a long night shoot. It was 1976. Man, that was fun workin on that movie! Hey Cliff- I actually read for a role for the movie GLEAMING THE CUBE- over at MGM Studios - Elizabeth Leustig was the casting director, and I had about 3 pgs. of script memorized - 2 whole pgs. were a solid speech! It was one of the best readings I probably ever did for a movie- but she said I was too old. Oh well. Want to here something crazy? I almost didn't get that part in the movie SCARFACE -[hit man] because they thought I might look too young![1984] Whew! ***Back to Glen - Saw your video THIS IS NOT SKATEBOARDING the other night at bro. Richy's house! Man O Man! What a video!!! Congrat's on a great job! Keep up the great work! To Michael Brooke if you are reading this- saw your brand new book- SKATELEGENDS over at Richy's yesterday- Fantastic! Glen Miyoda's photography was great! Glad to see you appreciate his fine work! -Very honored that you included the Carrasco Bros. in your book. You've done it again- another great skateboarding history book![Concrete Wave]. To SteelwheelBob- the beautiful Maria C.- and Scott Peer- great people who support skateboarding in a big way - thank you. God bless every skater reading this!Amen!...........................Rene Carrasco.

hc,
Thrashin' has some sliding in it and the rider is Rich Dunlop. Rich also did the slide/stunt work for Gleaming the Cube. He was rooming in the same house as I was in about 1981/82 in Berkeley. As far as I know he now lives in Sausalito. He had a bad bicycle accident in Paris last year and might still be recovering. Rich is originally from Boston and once wrote an article about the first slide race for Thrasher magazine. The first slide race took place in Montecito, CA. It was in the early 1980s. I organized it and we ran it on a road I found called Park Lane. Park Lane is the same road featured in Future Primitive and the riders there were Rich Dunlop and Chris Iverson.

I have the surf video "Fluid Drive" and it's lacking the skate footage. When I saw it when released (1975) there was some RAD skate footage of the Z-boys at Revere. Anyone know or have it?

If you want some of the best 70's skating get Hal Jepson's Super Session http://www.surfart.com/Videos/video_jepsen.htm
It has Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Larry Bertleman, etc Lot's of Revere footage, some old pool footage. It's mixed into a mainly surfing video. Great stuff!!!
