Rob, if your Bennett's have the original baseplates, then your Lotus wheels likely have little use as well. Besides, Lotus wheels never did a 're-issue', so they're from the 70's. It used to be that if you had the plastic baseplates, you'd find a pair of donor ACS trucks to swap out the Bennett hangers onto (as I've done on my Bahne fiberglass board), but now that the Vector is back in production, there's a Bennett-to-Bennett swap to metal, and No Jam Nut, either!

I have a vintage solid oak Warptail in decent restored condition. New griptape and new original Gordon and Smith Stacy Peralta Warptail decal. Bennetts look good with original plastic baseplates and the orange Lotus #2 wheels look nice but not sure if they are actually vintage 70's wheels or not; they look too new. Will email pics if anyone is interested.

A friend of mine, who does simple video-imaging work, got after me on this post(and so soon after?), but noted that the Fibreflex sticker cut-around issue is easily solved (and this should hold true with other topmount vintage stickers)by simply photo-ing them digitally, and expanding the outer perimeter by a factor of 115%. This profile, transferred to to back of your griptape, should allow for seemless cut-arounds on most stickers that need top-of-the-deck exposure.Heck, if you're good enough with the snipps or blade, you could put CLEAR tape over the older decal set, both preserving the decal, and giving you a full grip-taped surface. I will note one 'old-school' artifact that remains here; be sure of your CENTERLINE along the tape, an be certain it aligns with the deck's centerline. Be careful, because, you'll be marking the griptape underside, and the deck's topside. Also note points of reference along the deck/tape length, just to match everything up as you go. I find that glossy metallic Sharpies are helpful here, as they can put points down on the tape, the deck, and be seen without being glaringly obvious.

Hi Tom, sorry for the later response here- um, wasn't looking carefully... Try Switchbacklonboards dot com for various Seismic hangers. Springs, well, your'e on yer own there, mate, at least until Dan gets with a re-supply program (which,of course, is NOT a Lean Principle, per Toyota, but would mean much to those of us who LEAN into turns!) for older gen Seismic trucks. Keep in mind that Gen 1 and Gen 2 trucks are not quite compatible at the springs, so any hanger switching shinnanigans have to be addressed there, which is about 3/32" difference in spring cassette length between old stock and new. I've only got two such 'mixed gen' trucks, and they're both very limited in spring adjustment. NOT a RECOMENDED means of using a Seismic, as the spring may release mid-turn!! But, if you're using ONLY gen-2 parts (all metal, Chinese) this link might be helpful (while supplies last,um,dwindle).
I've been a supporter of Seismic since ,um '94 or so. Used them on many great boards, including Turners and my Super-G Bozi (hey 2nd wasn't bad at the World's, or 27th as place, as Coleman put it; Ow), and they've performed consistently and brilliantly over the decades. I've found the all-metal trucks to be noisy, and the axles to be not as sweet as the first-gen, first run variants, but the quality is there, still. That's something to note, as I've also noted many premier snowboard companies move to China, only to get the namebrand quality shoved down the flusher. Still, don't go mixing parts about too much, as the sizing is different, and Gen 3 is about to appear. I'd talk to Dan Gesmer directly if you've got Gen-1 parts and-or gen Gen-2 parts that you want to replace.

Fibreflex KT tape job

Robert, if you cannot find replacement tape, look into using black 4" wide MiniLogo tape as a close-to-stock replacement. To fit around the G+S 'Fibreflex' decal (usually mounted about 4-1/2" ahead of the center of the rear truck monuting), you'll need to go about 1/4" around the outside the entire size of the original G+S Fibreflex sticker. BTW, before you start this, be sure to know the center-line of the deck, size of the decal(width + depth), and the centerline(Mark This on the back of the TAPE!) of the tape, too. Use fine-shear tinsnips(used for thin, soft alloys, such as aluminum or copper in thinner sheets) or Kitchen shears for cutting. To do this accurately, I suggest using tracing paper around the sticker's profile, being very certain you're catching all the points of angle, curvature, and intersection of angles and curve (hmm, maybe get a graphics artist student to help here; My education was in Drafting, before computers, so while obsolete in industrial terms, I know some stuff that may be easy for me, but hard to source these days) and have the area that's cut-out of the griptape for the sticker be about 110% bigger than the decal itself. In using the tracing paper, be sure that you use the same THREE points of alignment along the deck, and be sure these same 3 points are reflected on the back of the griptape paper, centered from the edges of the paper! If not, you'll lose your bearings when trying to cut+flip the tape. Use a soft-lead pencil ('F' grade) if ever marking the board's deck. This upper piece, from the front truck back about 5" from the rear truck mounts, should be cut with a full curve along the top of the sticker(3/16" further out than the arc of the top of the sticker). This leaves a tad more than 1/8" of the 'corners' of the sticker sticking out past the side edges of the tape. That's where things get tricky, though, as the G+S logo wedge+curved top sticker also includes a small 'bar' g+s logo across the base of the 'fibreflex' logo. You have to trace around that feature at about 1/8", squared up to the bar from the deck's edges (by average measure, as the board tapers to the tail here) and allow about 1/2" of triangular point from there down. The resulting piece of tape, seen from the tail, ends up being angle-cut back down about 7/8" before being cut straight down, then straight across, at roughly 3/4" to fit the bar logo, the angle-cut again to the triangled point about 3/8" further down. Complex, I know, but if you use a tracing, spaced accordingly outside of the G+S logo, you can cut the griptape to fit around the sticker nicely. I highly suggest that you do a full tracing, patiently, on nothing but tracing paper, TWICE!!, that fits all the elements of tape and sticker placement, even with the board's edges (along 3-to-4 points of the curve!) BEFORE you you start cutting griptape or slapping it on your board! No, it's not easy, certainly with complex cuts like what's needed along a Fibreflex's curved profile, nevermind it's curved-triangle+wedged-bar sticker. Good luck, and consider finding a graphics-arts student to help if needed!
