Well heres my experience with TVS boards:
I only weigh like 100 lbs. and i can't ride stiff boards, Exept my D'adv 48' gun, unless they'v got torsions or randals. My sis's TVS 42 is way to stiff. It has indys and it is not right for me.

HOW MANY TIMES MUST I MENTION THAT THIS ALL STARTED WHEN ADAM ASKED WHICH WAS BETTER, TVS OR S9!?!?!? IF ANYBODY THINKS I WAS TRASHING SECTOR, THEN SHOOT ME FOR ANSWERING HIS QUESTION.
Chris- I couldn't agree more w/ your first post. The second? I will continue to defend TVS in the posts, cus their boards rip! Im not tryin to be a dick to anybody, all this info, like I said before, is for the sake of debate, comparison and a BETTER RIDE.
Steve O- Its tuff to type when I'm laughin so hard..."my backyard company"?? I DONT EVEN WORK FOR TVS!!! You tell me to learn this and not to forget that, but yer just talkin out yer ass man, cus you dont know shit about me, or TVS for that matter. How bout answering my questions instead of "telling" me a bunch of bs? *www.streetboards.com*
What has everyone ridden BESIDES their s9's? Has anyone tried riding a TVS? What does everyone want to read? Honest reviews on products the reviewer has tested? Or a bunch of ass kissing happy stories about how much they love the one longboard they've ridden? Personally, I love to hear everyone's opinions, positive or negative, as long as its for the sake of debate and not just a bunch of self serving ego babble. Oh yeah, TVS RULE.

That's what I like to hear from longboarders. It is just better to see the friendliness that has brought this great sport to us. So let's knock this silly crap off (Jake & Adam) and just get along and see every company for what it is and not be dumb and obsessive.

I have no problems with any longboard companies out there nor do I have any problems with people who support them. I have been longboarding (both surf and later skate) for longer than you (jake or adam) have been alive. I have no problems with anyone speaking thier minds. What I have noticed is the fact that you have to put other companies down to make your personal favourites look good. As you grow older you will realize that you won't need to do that. That is if your back yard company is designed well enough to withstand the test of time. Since my business takes me all over the continental U.S I always carry my boards with me. I have yet to here about this or see this "company". When you boys grow up, we will see where you are. My sons, in thier performance auto racing business, have never had to put down any of thier competition to make thenselves look good. They are the best and they put thier money were thier mouth is!!!I just hope that you will grow to understand the way busines works. If you went to college, you should have finished, otherwise you would know how to market your garage "company" . I hope you don't take this anyway other than a learning expierience. You my not understand this now but you will.
Never forget the soul that we started for you many years ago.

Steve,Jake,
Can't we just get along. So what if Jake likes TVS's and Steve doesn't. But isn't this silly bickering crap a little useless. If Jake works for TVS that does not matter. If he did that would probably meen that he likes there boards. Damn it i love sector 9 boards and i would love to work for them and definatly try to get them more buisness. So why does steve give Jake crap about liking there boards. Longboarding is a peacful sport without all the hate and anger. So boys lets all get along. A better idea....instead of making cheap shots a each other get off the computer and go out and ride!

Ok Steve O, and everybody else who magically seems to know where I work: Once and for all, my name is Jake, I live in Portland, ORegon.. and I AM ADDICTED TO TERMINAL VELOCITY STREETBOARDS, but I don't work for them. Steve O, how many times must I say that Adam, (who also doesn't work for TVS) asked which was better, 48" TVS, or S9 supercruiser. I answered the question. In case you didn't notice, I also said some great things about Black29, so put your "one" company fears to rest. BIASED REVIEW?!?!!? OK how the fu*k are you sposed to review something without bias?? HELLO? I compare every board I ride to every other board I've ridden. Should I compare them to string cheese? Or would you rather there only be good reviews on this page because "every longboard is special"??? I am offering up this info for the sake of debate, comparison, and A BETTER RIDE FOR ALL. Dont tell me to regain my love for the sport. I never have, and never will lose it. What surprises me is that with all your lofty talk Steve O, you didn't even bother to read all my posts. And by the way, wtf are you reading the completes page for if you dont care what anyone else rides? What are the wrong reasons for riding longboards? Gimme a break man...
Adam- I now understand where you are coming from, but regardless of Steve's attitude, TVS makes better boards, they are just pissed cus S9 sells more. You and yer bro will be totally stoked on the 38", I can't wait to read your review.

Motherlode Longboards

I recently got a Motherlode Longboard (www.motherlodelongboards.com) and I can without hesitation recommend the company and the board. After not skating for over 20 years, I pulled out an old board and cruised around a local parking lot. After doing some research on the Web I discovered that longboards were the way to go. After reading all the reviews on this site, and elsewhere, for a couple of months, I kept coming back to the Motherlode page. I e-mailed them and told them the kind of riding I'd be doing (cruising down the street and parking lots), and they recommended a set up for me. They were right on with their recommendations. I got a 13-ply board with Randal IIs and Krytpo Classic K (70 mm, 78a) wheels. The board is nice and stable, tho there's hint of flex when I stand in the center (I'm 6.1, 175lbs.). The bottom is finished in a translucent blue stain, with some rally stripes on the top in the same color. The grip is a clear epoxy and works well. With the wheel wells and the Randal's I've been able to do really tight turns; I'd swear the board was reaching over a 50 degree angle with room to spare. As important as the quality of the product, I'm especially impressed with the level of service. As someone whose been out of the game for so long and doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, Motherlode took the time to answer my questions and steer me in the right direction, and they always answered emails promptly. They also made a point of telling me (more than once) that if I was not satisfied with the board for any reason, I could exchange it for another one. Anyway, I'm a satisfied customer and having fun riding.

Well the thing about TVS is Steve(who works for them) posted a bunch of good reviews for TVS under a bunch of different names so that made me wonder, but my brothers getting the TVS 38" in september so ill ride his and give an honest review. Also, I got mail from steve after i told him i wanted to go w/ the s9 saying things like " sucktor 9 " and calling s9 poser sticks and thats what made me not even consider TVS.

TVS or B.S.

Adam or Jake: I have no idea why you would post such biased reviews on this site. I must agree that you(which ever one of your personalities is involved) must work for TVS.That is sad, you are doing yourselves no good. I have only been longboarding for about 3 years. Only within the last 6 months have I been logging on to this site. For the most part I have found some informative board reviews. But this biased B.S. should be taken elsewere. I may be new to the sport and I have no ties with any company out there. As far as I am concerned anyone that rides a longboard is good by me. If TVS is so good then why do you have to trash any other boards. The big thing that turned me on to the sport was the availability for me to get back into my passion. I can't ride the ramps anymore (for at least 10 years) but I always run into people in my shoes that still love to skate. Longboarding for us keeps us commited to doing what we were doing long before a lot of you even knew what a skateboard was. I just hope you can get over your "one" company biases and and regain the love of the sport that has given us so much. I couldn't care less what kind of board you ride as long as you ride them for the right reasons.Yes,I do own more than one longboard, and no,You they are not from the same company. Keep your heads up, you never know who will be passing you at 5o+. It may not be often but it may be me.

Judge- Ytf would I have ordered my second TVS board if I didn't like em??? The way I ride, I can't afford to take chances w/my karma like that. Just a little info for ya: I live in Oregon, TVS is in Carlsbad, kinda a long commute wouldn't you think?? Anyway, I'll mention AGAIN that there was a specific question, on this page, about which was better TVS or S9. I have ridden the both the super cruiser and the pintail complete, so I can honestly say that neither board lived up to the hype. I seriously doubt you have ridden a TVS, cus if you had you would be agreeing w/me, especially if you are into hardcore speed. I'd really like to know what everyone is comparing their S9's to. What else have you ridden??(see my post on indys in the trucks page)
Adam- all the dimensions are on the website
Oh and don't forget this- if you think popularity is any measure of quality, none of those little teen dream girls are unsatified with their Back Street Boys albums. What's better isn't so because its underground, its usually underground because whats better is always ahead of the rest.

Adam- If you think I work for TVS, have fun in yer little psuedo-reality. I wish I did, cus their boards rip and everyone I talked to down there is way cool. You specifically asked which board was better, so if you didn't like my answer, well.. noone is apologizing.
more on TVS: I was sick of dreaming about it so I ordered the 48" yesterday, and they're settin it up w/ Randal speed trucks for me (see? all you gotta do is ask). I talked to Gary Hardwick, the designer of the boards, and downhill record holder(62.5mph!?!?). Guess what he rides?? A TVS w/ a custom version of Randal's speed trucks. This guy claims to have been breakin 50mph for the past 20 years, and like I said he designed the boards, so I trust his opinion. Try riding one.

(in my humble opinion) Life is SHORT. Too short to get cheap longboards. If want you want is performace, safety, and a great experience, then spend a few extra dollars and get something good. You ARE worth it. It's true that you can't buy happiness. But you can buy a good time. Having confidence in your equipment leads to riding with sense of adventure. Show up. Go big.

Adam: Sector9 or TVS?? Really, sucktor has no comparison to TVS..especially the 48". I have ridden both complete, the TVS rips except for the Indy's..Indy's suck they r heavy and wobble bad.. TVS decks are super solid, and awesome for cruising or speed, seriously if you are thinking about a sector9 please, do not buy one, if you want pure performance..it all about TVS. If you just want to cruise, and bomb some fun hills chk the Black29
On Black29: I haven't seen many posts on these guys..I bought a complete "classic performer" and I love it. This board has mad style..even girls like it. Everyone...even middle aged suburbanites constantly ask where I bought it. A true crusing machine, just the right amount of flex..came w/ a pair of 10" invaders and angled risers, which makes for a a really low, wide feeling setup..the best way to describe it is that it rides like an old 60's Cadillac..and has that same mean look to it..no cheeseball space age graphics, just beautifully stained birch with some nice subtle labeling...every deck is singned and has its own serial #..My personal fave for gettin pulled around on by my dog, and carving mello hills. "Very high quality" is what comes to mind when you ride these boards, and Ken & Zach (the owners) are as cool as they come. Check out their website www.Black29.com o yeah? the wheels? love em..but I'm not 2 picky..dig the narrow profile tho..all in all a killer ride, with x-tra points for style.
