I checked out the payaso page, they're stuff looks pretty dope. Make their own tires, and they got straps for their boards!!! That's bad ass. Does anyone know anything about them? How do they ride? They claim to be the first company to pattent a longboard....That true?

Hey guys, Manu's here, the french rider, i know very well these boards and their riders are very big friends of mine. I think you know the "hot snowboards company" they are also making longboards. I am a sector niner but i must say "hots" are good boards . It's a different concept ... i don't think it is the reason why Remy won in kaunerthal but for those who are interrested by the product go to the "hot snowboards web site" or come to see the french mafia at the gravity games ! And never forget the best board doesn't exist...there is just good riders

Hot longboards are good stuff. I tested a proto version and it was very good for cruising and slalom (quick turns). It was equipped standard indys. There were diffrent flexes also and I think that the proto model has maxium flex. Very good thing is that the deck don´t loose stifness.

I just got a new *Hot Longboard* from France with Gullwing trucks and 70 mm kryptonites. Any info on these boards? I havent had a chance to try it yet. The guy who sold it to me said that the winner of the European downhill competitions rides this board.

Had it for like.. 2 weeks now. Mostly bombin hills w/ this one, Randal speed trucks were not made for cruising. I'll break the whole thing down, bottom to top-
Wheels: TVS 72mm clear black poly, lotsa grip, square profile. Not 2 hard, not 2 soft. FAST. They look really cool too. I don't slide so... not sure how they do in that dpmt.
Bearings: sealed abec 3's.. what can I say? they're new.
Trucks: Randal Speed Trucks, fastest fu*king things I've ever ridden. I've tried em tight, really loose, and just loose enough to turn (how I usually ride), and NO wobs.. NOT EVEN CLOSE (around 40mph). Now I'm getting the rush from pure speed, rather than just tryin to hang on.
Risers/Hardware: Black29 stacked deck, I put these risers on every deck I own, cus nuthin else rides like soft rubber angles. FAT SIDE IN. Not really sure if this is right for the downhills, but I got wheel bite w/o them because of the way the hanger sits back on the truck. I also think metal to wood and metal to hard plastic are both bad combos, and dont like the ride. The new school dork at the local sk8shop laughed and made some comment about the 70's when I asked about em.. then proceeded to tell everyone in the shop how board length doesn't really matter, its all in the wheels..and by the way, your risers are on backwards..HAHAHHHAAH so if yer lookin hard try www.black29.com, they'll be happy to send you some. The Deck: TVS 48"... you all probably know how I feel about TVS by now, but regardless.. It ROCKS. Perfect flex for speed, totally, 100% solid, which is something I cant say about any other companies' decks. Tried the RII's on it and it carves like crazy! The combo of the square profile wheels, RII geometry (which seem keeps the wheels flat on the ground) and the camber/flex of the board made for some serious power carving. The wheel base of the 48" is a little long for high speeds I think, so I might make it my carving board, and put the downhill trucks on their cruiser model for my speedboard. Cut outs were designed for indy's I think, but RII's w/ angles also fit just right. The fact that these boards have a functional nose and tail is awesome for manuals, kick turns, popping up curbs, and carving off the tail. High quality, rock solid construction, and they look really smooth too. TVS/Ordering the board: They were happy to set it up w/ Randal's for me, *at no extra charge* which they dont mention on their website, www.streetboards.com JUST ASK! It took 5 days to arrive, including a sunday. Gripped and setup rite in the box, which was convenient. Oh yeah they custom drilled the deck for the Randal's *no charge*

MAN, What a bunch of whiney crap. WHo really cares whether one of you works somewhor another or what the hell you ride? ever thought about the art of design that goes into the stuff you are bitch slapping each other over? ever thought that it is after all pretty good product? S9 is huge, and sending stuff all over the world. so that is that. Success comes from people liking the stuff. Period I have been building boards an a garage level for years under the Poorboy trademark, and the stuff has always been at least ok. Just shut the f*ck up about all the shit and talk about product and application, so everyone reading this crap can get something for their time invested. Check out a Central coast company called Payaso. some amazing stuff, and nobody is doing what this guy Tim is doing... truly crossing the surf style with skating... and the end result is unlike anything you are dwelling so much on. I recommend any of you that are old enough to get INTO ASR in San Diego, to swing by booth # 2036 and meet this friggin mad scientist. booth # 2036. Peace.

Just wanted to put my two cents in on the Dregs Maggie. I bought the board a couple of months ago offthe site and found the guys at Dregs to be extremely helpful. They sent the board out to me in New York and I have been having fun and turning heads ever since. It is not often that New Yorkers see a 33 year old guy in a suit cruising on a longboard to work! The board is very comfortable, turns on a dime and is very smooth. I have not gotten it out to a park but I imagine it will perform well. Highly recomended as a great way to get around with style. Reasonably priced at approx. $145 complete.

I think that this board is awesome for anyone who likes a good strret board with an oldschool, and moves to match, but can also manuever well enough to go for some slalom. With the wheel cutouts and the extra wide trucks, this board can do anything. great for ditch riding, it's concave makes it a good stiff, yet flexy enough to let you go downhill, with a little camber to spring you in and out of your turns. This is one board the all around longboarder cannot live without

I started a review of this deck a while back so this is a continuation. This board is super fun. Awesome for downhill and flatland. It'd be a little much for banks and parks but thats not what I bought it for. I love riding this thing down big steep hills. Theres no weight over the tail so you can throw it into really controled sliding turns. I should tell you that the guys at Tahoe got wheel bite with the R-IIs but Im riding them with double angled risers with no problem. The guys at Tahoe were super cool, really good customer service. Got me some R-IIs and then told me the problems they were having straight up. If I ever have my own company this is the way I want it to be run. For freestyle there is a nice big functional nose, the weight is different than what I was used to wheelie-ing but now that Im used to it It's sick! The weight actually gives you more of a balancing aid I think, kind of like when tight rope walkers carry big poles to help them balance. Over all this board is an awesome board and well worth anyones money. Later

Chis, Thanks for understanding the love of our great sport. These other clowns have no idea what kind of damage what they are doing to thier(friends, business, or reputation). Why would anyone want buy any crap that only looks good if you can put down some one else. It sounds more like they are to afraid to stand behind thier own boards. I have more than one board so I couldn't care less what you ride. BUT, don't ever talk sh@% about someone who has already put in the time, money, and effort that inspired YOU to make these t.v.B.S. want-a-be longboards. When you want to grow up come to this forum to offer something productive to say, then I may listen. Until then you should concentrate on getting out of the 8th grade.I feel sorry for all the REAL longboarders out there, hopefully we won't have to deal with this middle-school mentality any more.To those that care, Keep the faith, I will continue until my body no longer can keep up. Hopefully not for a long time.
Peace, Steve "O"
