Speaking of the Rippey, I got a trip planned to Tahoe in October to work with Rippey on an update to his model and prototype a second model with us. The guy just had ACL surgery 3 weeks ago and his therapy is riding his flexdex.
Note: All flexdex are shipping with dual coned spacers in the new Shadow trucks for even tighter turns.

Great board. Smooth ride, lots of flex, carves , and has a decent tail, not a kick but long enough to do some tic-tac etc.
Really enjoying this board, either dodging cars and pedestrians in Boston or cruising rolling hills in NJ. Softer truck bushings make it even better.

First off, the Freebord is not a skateboard. I’m not really sure what to call it. I prefer the word ‘hybrid’. The freebord was designed to mimick snowboarding, even more than a conventional longboard does. The deck is shaped like a smaller verson of a snowboard and the outer wheels act as the snowboard’s edges. When you first get on a freebord, you will fall. Many times. So, you better wear some wrist guards and a helmet. This board really looks strange too.the deck is 48” long and the trucks are 16” wide. One of the problems you will have when switching from a longboard to a freebord is kicking off. When I first got mine I would kick the wheels all the time. That just comes with practice. Anyways, The freebord has 2 caster wheels right behind the kingpin of each truck. Caster wheels are like the wheels on a shopping cart. They will spin in 360 degrees. So when you want to slide the freebord you put your feet over top of the center wheels and throw your weight off the board. If you want to do a Coleman Slide, or the Freebord version of it, you just lean back and let the board ride. You can lay down a 30 foot slide easily with a decent sized hill behind you. When you get done with riding your hill, you can also retract the center wheels so it will ride like a regular longboard. This is useful on the flats. The freebord is a definate head turner too. People yell stuff at you, old people stare, it’s great. When I first got mine, I didn’t know how I wanted to ride it. There are different riding styles for each ‘setting’. You can change the settings by, tightening and loosening the trucks and by moving the center wheels up and down. When you first get one take it to a street with a gentle slope. After about 5 or 6 hours of learning time you should be able to links turns and execute 180s. A few more hours and you should have the 360 down. Don’t expect to be able to ride like the guys in ‘Concrete Powder’ as soon as you get your board. It won’t happen. Also, mess around with the settings, find on you like. Different people like different settings. I like to ride with the center wheels as high as they can go and the trucks both very loose. The board is very carvey and slides easily. You can take any hill with a freebord. There is no such thing as speed wobbles when you are on. But, there are some negatives to this board also. I think that the trucks are too wide, I’m always hitting my foot on the back wheels. Maybe the guys at Freebord could make a different board with trucks that aren’t as wide. Also, I don’t usually ride mine on the flats, so I carry it, and it’s heavy. I think it’s so heavy because the trucks are so huge. They could make a lighter one. Another thing that discourages people from them is the price. The Freebord retails for $299. Maybe they could do something about that too. For more info check out the Freebord website.

I got an S9 supercruiser w/Indies. It's my first board. I like it. I've got it to about 25-30. I want to get a board built for speed- one that'll haul ass like the mighty General Lee with Luke behind the wheel. Recommendations? Anyone? Also, William Shatner is the coolest ever, 2nd only to Homer J. Eddie Haskel comes in a distant third.

That is kind of lame putting a tail on the cosmic 1. The reason that I liked it so much is because it didn't have a tail. If I wanted the cosmic 1 with a tail I would buy the cosmic 2.

I've been riding these all around for the last couple of days and everything else feels like it doesn't steer, randles and torsion. I'm sure they'll be ok on the hills at speed, in loose Randles and Torsions feel stable to me now so the Strokers could be excellent training for high speed stability on "regular" trucks, pics should be coming up soon.

I am considering buying either the 62 or the 52. I weigh in the low 130's, and was wondering if anyone knows how the 62 rides for a lighter rider like me. How does the 62 compare to the 52? I was also considering a flexdex hang 10 48". Thanks for any info.

In the setting they're in I have 15 degrees board tilt to about 23,24 degrees wheel angle this psycoticly quick and would workout to about a 53 degree angle of steering if they were linear but they're probabely not. They're probabely quicker in the middle due to the upward angle of the links, they are extremely fun though.

This is not a speed board (not with the links set as they are) I just moved the links out temporarily and tried them slower less twitchy perfectly smooth steering, I wish I,d made the posts where the steering links attach to the axles longer ,it would have made it totally easy to dial in any degree of stability. The is set right back to twitchy fast, at this setting its a tight slalom deck with a thirty six inch wheelbase ,rolling berts that don't slow up you can just put your hand down and carve around it.

Just looked back to the archives, started this project two and a half monthes ago, today it was riden, with a deck, for the first time, nobody has ever ever riden anything like this board before; ever. With a 36 inch wheelbase it turns as quick ,quicker than my 26 inch w.b. lib with exskates, this quickness can be detuned but I'll wait and see if it wobbles. The deck is only 3.75 inches off the ground with Cherry Bombs it does not tip on to two wheels is just tracks all four massively wide grippy cherry bombs evenly, unfreakin real can't wait to get it to a big hill. First it needs to be laquered and gripped and thouroughly polished to look like a terminator skeleton, with a deck bolted on.

I rode the Cosmic 2 and did not care much for it at all.it did not carve that well to me and was scary going fast on it.I have the Fusion 44 and it seems to me that it being wider than the Cosmic gives you more power and leverage to power into your turns and feels safe going fast.I think the Fusion 44 is a much better package and the components that come on it are nicer than what comes on the Cosmic. My friend Dan has a Cosmic and he always wants to switch up with my Fusion when we ride.I have 2 Tahoe boards now. A Tallac 62 and my Fusion.I also have an old Gravity I bust out when someone wants to borrow a board.I never lend out my Tahoes.I take pride in those bad boys.Good luck!

I am looking for my first longboard and I liked the Sector 9 Cosmic 2 but I also have talked to the people at Lake Tahoe Longboards and was considering the Tahoma 42 or one of the Fusion models. I am new to the sport and don't have much experience(none), so I would appreciate any help. Thanks

I just rode a Super cruser for the first time and i realy liked it. It was my friends and he just got it. I mostley ride Gravity but I like the concave and flex of the super cruser alot. I felt alot more stable than a gravity because it is alot wider. One problem that i had is that it got wheel bite when you are carving real hard at slow speed. I think with some randal r2s and some softer whells I would be a great board.
