I agree!
anyone who rides my pro 41 with 70mm wheels on it can't believe how smooth the ride is. the acceleration out of pumping/carving turns is SO sweet. i wish i could afford R2's, then it would be even better, by the sounds of it.

Hmmm. The deal with a flexdex is LOW center of gravity, acceleration out of turns, and absorbtion of road vibration. Foot placement make a HUGE difference in the ride at SPEED. Being able to torque the deck and respond to the road is one of the things that can only be done on a flexdex. It's the ride, after all, that we all are looking for. I think that saying "you ride one...you want one!" obviously came from stoked riders all around the world.
The only wood I care for is morning wood, but that's not to say that there are a LOT of really cool skateboards out there made from a variety of materials. That's what keeps skateboarding so fun. I'll put trucks and wheels on my cat if I thought it would offer a good ride...

I was just wondering if anybody has ever ridden one of the landyachtz boards, especially the beavertail or gaffer. I have been looking in some local skateshops and nobody seems to carry them. If anyone can provide info on them, just post it above my enrty.

for all you way-out surfin' doods & sk8-in cats diggin' on those Sector hypes, we sell the best Sector ever made. The reason its the best Sector ever made is that its not made by Sector....get it?...its made by COMPRESSION, who, in their honest search for true reflex action in a sk8 deck, definitely struck pay dirt with their bitchin' tecnology! WHEN YOUR'E DONE PLAYING WITH YOUR KID BROTHER'S TOYS, GO FIND A SHOP NEAR YOU THAT HAS THESE (you'll never go back to SECTION 8 )

Extcad:
I just bought a Sector 9 Cosmic II the other day. This board is incredible. Very responsive and fast. I've got insane rocker on mine (My friends all say I have too much) but the Cosmic II fits my riding style perfectly. At 38" a lot of people tell me its not a longboard, but I say "blah" to them. All the carves, slides, and grinds are done as well, (or better) on my 38" than on my 40.5" Sector "The Nine" board. I know you're looking for info on the Cosmic I, (which is considerably shorter than a Cosmic II, 5" shorter) so I'm sure this isn't much help. Probably http://www.sector9.com will be your best bet. Sector 9 is a name you can trust, and their boards perform perfectly in my very honest, humble opinion.
Thanks for letting me ramble fella's (and ladies if there are. God knows we need more lady carvers out there!)

Bouncy and springy as hell.........you could run over anything like that monster truck they call.......I don't know what they call it, but it's a decent board......I really can't compare it, cause it's the only one I ever owned and I don't have any friends that ride (no friends at all for that matter) But hey, I like it. My shits 48" by 10".......I think it could be wider but it'll handle.......alright enough........keep killin yourselves

Bergler,Does that cosmic have a front loaded camber, center loaded camber or a rear loaded camber or do they have no camber or too much camber. How does this affect their flex with different weighted riders ?

I'm just getting back into boarding after a 10+ year break, so I may be talking out my as*, but I'll throw in my two cents. I'm working my up to longer boards, the Cosmic 2 currently my longest, but it's still relatively short for most folks. At 165 lbs. I don't find the Cosmic real bouncy, it may be due to the concave, but when I stand on the deck it doesn't even flex the camber back to flat. Personally, I like the flex, and due to the wood/fiberglass construction and modest dimensions (length and width) it's really light. I think I would prefer a flat deck with a similar flex and weight. I'm aiming for around 48" on my next deck, But I'll still be looking for some flex. The Cosmic isn't my only board, I wouldn't want it to be, but if you've got the cash to assemble a quiver, the Cosmic fills a gap.

Springy vs Stiffy

I agree with you, when you reach high speeds you want your board to be stable and Predictable. Your knees work great for absorbing shocks. I may be wrong, but most race cars use stiff set ups for their suspension. and i dont see many downhill racers using really springy decks, actually i have never seen one used... but i could be wrong...

Bounce this around the ol'noggin for a while and let me know what y'all think. Do you really think that a springy board is good for downhil ,well dampened flex like a dirtbike or downhill mountain bike, for rough roads, quick springy flex might throw you off. Slalom needs the undampened snappy flex to thrust through a rapid series of turns. Stiffer boards as the courses get smoother, should work better.

I recieved the new catalog, but I can't find it right now. from what I rememer the C1 got a tail and lost its camber. so now it is just flat with a tail, not a kicktail just aflat tail. It still has flex, but no camber , so I don't know how it will respond, whether it will bounce back when you pump it, or just sag. Quite lame I think. from what I remember the C2 is the same. Like I said I may be wrong, so if someone else knows something different, post the truth.

After months of reading stuff about longboards, finally I decided to get myself one. According to the info on PAYASO's website, this board should be pretty functional. Well I think this board is a bit flexier and flatter than my good old Toymachine shortboard, but it goes much more stable when going at higher speed. May be later I'll take it to some skateparks and see how it does in there.
