Seen the wahoo's ad with the surfskate? Payaso is the only company that has never sold an "incomplete" board. Since 1992.

Got my carve board yesterday!
Haven't ridden it much yet (sick), but there are some things that are apparent. Rene is right you gotta carry them back up the hills. They aren't for transportation. These aren't big deals because this isn't why I bought it. I bought it to train for surfing. Nothing that I have seen or heard about tops the carve for this function. I have received several email regarding carve vs. sector 9. All of them bashed the carve calling them pieces of crap. This statement couldn't be farther from the truth. These things are rock solid. It is craftsmanship. And they look sharp as well. I'll keep ya posted on my progress. Hasta

I have one for sale, its a narrow, side cut, slightly concave dh carving board,I picked the 201 (wider) trucks and cherry bombs(no extra money on completes) abec 5 bearings the deck is definitely the most primative thing about the board,I tried and didn't like the trucks ,I used the narrow ones, the wide ones could be a little less eager to snap back to center. The wheels ,are great.

Hi, does anyone know what this baord's like? I know Torsion trucks should be cool (though I like my Randals), but I'm curious what the board's like, because it looks kinda cool on the eXkate site. thanks for your info,
Ali.

Hey saw those boards, actually know Gerlach (pro surfer, his dad owns carve) ride nice, just one thing, think about it like a mtb board, its great to go down hill, then you got's to carry it back up, u really can't skate them like a regular longboard...If your looking for a real nice board for all around carving/skating then look for a brand that comes with Randal II or Torsion trucks they make more sense much easier on the way back up any hill...

I make my own out of .25 inch thick, 6061 grade aluminum stock. I'm fortunate enough to have a local place called Research Alloys sell me their scraps cheaply at $1 per pound. That factors out to be cheap rails. I use 1" wide (or 3/4" depending on deck--If I actually plan on frequently sliding on it, I go with the 1 inch rails; If I just use them to protect the graphics, I go with 3/4 inch). Rails are cut to length between the cutouts or wheel divets, drilled 3 or 4 times (depending on deck length), and screwed into the deck with stainless steel screws. Depending on the concavity of my decks, I sometimes use nylon spacers between the rails and the decks. Check in the phone directory under metal or aluminum fabricators.

I want to improve my surfing. Which board is better for me a sector nine cosmicII or a carve board? I'm very attracted to the carve board. Have you checked out the video for download on their site. It is worth the download time!!! I talked to the guys at carve and they almost have me convinced. I wanted to see if there was anyone out there with knowledge of both products and how much they could help me. Thanks in advance and have a great day,
Sonny

This board is quality throughout. I bought one last fall setup with Randall IIs from Rene at longskate. At 42" it's great for around town, one-lane descents and bowl/ditch riding. With loose trucks, the transition from a 4ft sidewalk onto another 90-degree intersecting (and equally wide) sidewalk is possible to stick without tailturning. It's quite the functional board with a nice amount of concaveness, but on wide, steep hills its sort of twitchy unless you crank the trucks down. And at that, I'd still probably switch them out or put it away for anything over 30-35 mph. Powerpaws with Abec 5's are a great match and the price is right on. The board has held up well, but I have installed 1/4" aluminum rails and skidplate on it. If you're looking for something is this length, I'd go for it. Both the Tahoe and TVS boards at this length should also be considered.

Bobby has been moving around quite a bit and yes the new Turners are worth every penny. Any hole pattern can be drilled into the deck as it will come undrilled unless you specify what types of trucks you are to use. If you do get a hold of him, have him drill the holes as most kids in the skate shops have never seen a Turner, let alone know what it is, and screw up your board that you have been so desperately trying to get by putting the holes in the wrong place.

Is there anyone who has E-mailed Bobby Turner (bobby@k-online.com) and hasn't got any response. I've e-mailed him three times with no answer. I really want to buy the new turner summer ski and I can't wait any longer!!!
also, has anyone tried the new turner, is it worth the price? I was also wondering if they have the new school truck bolt pattern, because I wanna put some seismics on it.

I have the Feugo model -- very, very nice. Read my review at www.bobstricktips.com
I saw the V at ASR. Its a super nice deck. Its a really nice length. The power paw wheels are totally killer!!!!
I'd go for the Randal II trucks. I think they're better for all around skating than the eXkates.

You've got the kicktail, the intense flex/camber deal..if you can master that responsive board you're surf riding will improve.

carve skateboards?

This weekend I was at the beach (atlantic beach NC iron steamer pier) and I saw an interesting skateboard. It looked a lot like one of those mountain boards. IT did not have places to put your feet (bindings?). It had those real big wheels on it that look to be inflateable. The wheels were all the way at the front and back of the board and they were set of to the side of the board. They were also taller than the board. It was really long maybe 60+" It would turn on a dime. Maybe that is why it had the word carve written on it. Does anyone know where I can get some more information on this product? Thanks in advance,
Sonny

I need some help! I am thinking of getting into skateboarding to help improve my surfing skills. 1) Will skateboarding improve my surfing skills and if so how? Ebone at flexdex claims it will! 2) What skateboard(s) would be appropriate for this endeavor?
I have looked at flexdex probably the tim curran 30 model. I have also looked at Sector9 probably the cosmic II model (what a kick ass graphic). I surf on a shortboard, but I'm not that agressive or performance oriented. I like smooth and fluid cutbacks and speed (but not a lot of speed on asphalt) more than I like bashing the lip and 360's etc. What words dya got for me?

Thanks guys! It sounds like that's one quality line of boards. I haven't added a slalom set-up to my quiver yet but I'm sure some day . . . I just hope when I do that those boards are still available & that I could afford one. Thanks again for the info--I'm totally jealous. hang loose . . . .
