Stephan, Thanks for responding. Thirty or so! In Burlington!! That sounds amazing. If something similar is planned, and you don't mind another skater tagging along, please post in this forum. I'm a near-novice, but skating with better guys would help me alot. That must have been a blast! Jerry

Claude got a puncture wound on his hand- but otherwise was okay despite a drawn out struggle not to fall. But he put Canada on the slalom map by getting in the News Reel for News 12. see this clip. http://www.users.cloud9.net/~wbtway/farmnews.mpg

Hey Claude, are you OK? I didn't see it but heard you had a run-in with a tree at 'Da Farm and the tree won.

Mark H. Ontario is pretty big so when you figure out where your going let us know.
Toronto has several and you can also find quite a few of them from there in any direction.

Craig, get someone to drive you to the IceLand arena in Mississauga and check out the new park there. It is just south of the Hershey Centre where the 401, the 403 and the 410 freeways all meet.
The Kidney bowl is amazing but watch out for the hundreds of power-groms who are just getting their first experiences in Skatepark etiquette. (spelling?)

Hey, I am a South African longboarder in Toronto until after next weekend. I only have a speedboard with me here, evidently not much use, but if anyone does any cruising around here, or knows the parks and has a board to lend me, let me know.
Otherwise I'm planning on heading to Montreal early next week and I will be gunning for a top 16 qualification at the Top Challenge. I'll probably catch a bus, but if anyone wants to share a ride i'd be stoked
Cheers Craig

I guess I better look for NEW on the front page more often, EH!
It looks like that within a 6 hour drive we could get some good Slalom action going between Hamilton and Montreal.
Ross although Landy has some nice stuff I haven't seen anything taht would offer what you need for the Slalom courses you're seeing. They do have some models around the 40" or so leght(not sure) that look pretty good for longboard Slalom or learnig. They are not like slalom on a shortboard, however.
Brad Kasha is also in calgary and used to do some slalom. He posted once last year on the slalom site under bohika with an e-mail address.
Hey guys think about hosting a weekend comp in 2004. Maybe we can get to work on some scheduling, planning and coordinating.
Thanks again Adam
Many Happy Pumps,

good day, eh? i just wanted to say i was an exchange student in hamilton, ON last year (i'm french, eh?)... and i didn't see any longboarder around. actually no, i've seen one or two at university. you guys are shy or what ? just killing, don't bother being rude with me.
really canada is an awesome country, the main problem i think is that it's way too far from france, and damn too close to the states.
nobody knows me here but i wanna say i'm happy because yesterday i did some nice slides, the ones you guys call coleman slides.
ok, good day, eh? Canada kicks @$$

Slalom Board for Ross
|
On 7/23/2003
Rob

(209.250.nnn.nnn)
Ross:
Pierre is correct - the boards you indicated are speedboards and would not handle slalom cones.
All of the decks he recommended are excellent and come with different price points, depending on how much you want to spend.
If you are interested, I have a Comet Gary Cross in mint condition that is available for sale. This board would be a great board to get into slalom for it is drilled for two different wheel bases. All you would have to do is pick up a set of Tracker RT-X/RT-S and the wheels of your choice (3dm/Turner or ABEC 11 Stinger) and you are ready.
If you are interested - please contact me directly.
Hope this helps.

You are joking right? These boards are serious speedboards but are not very good slalom boards, you should look into Roe Racing, Turner Summerskis, Comet, Fibreflex, Pocket Pistols, these are slalom boards. Have fun with the cones!
