DHB Jam Weather Central Report
On 3/24/2005 North Carolina Longboarder- DownHill Billies wrote in from United States  (166.82.nnn.nnn)

Switchblader: Good to see you stoked and ready to go. I know you will be representing the local crew with killer style.

The Boys at the National Weather Service in Greenville/Spartanburg Airport say:

.SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON.
HIGHS AROUND 70. NORTHWEST WINDS AROUND 10 MPH IN THE MORNING...

The Weather Channel crew is saying:

Saturday: Showers possible. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 50s.

From my perspective the JAM IS ON! You make the call if you want to risk the drive. We will take another look at it again tomorrow.

Protection for Dave G/DHB Weather Update

Dave G:
Dude, tell your wife that I will do everything in my power to keep you from getting hurt but there are no gurantees! I want to come rafting on the Big G this year myself and you are the only guide I want to drive me down that freakin roller coaster known as the Beast of the East, Death By Water, and my personal favorite, the Gaulinator!

The DHB Jam is ON! The Weather Channel says this:
Saturday: Scattered thunderstorms possible. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

My boys at the National Weather Service say:
SATURDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. HIGHS AROUND 70.
CHANCE OF RAIN 30 PERCENT.

Local weather nerds on the boob tube are saying:
"It's going to be beautiful Saturday, blah blah blah, but we are hoping for a tornado warning so we can break in to your regular scheduled programming and scare the crap out of you with our Doplar Radar Storm Tracking Down To Your House Number System that tells you that Betty Lou Sues mobile home at 532 Walnut Street, in downtown Cramerton, is about to be destroyed by an F 2 tornado so that afterwards we can roll the Mobile On The Spot Live Eye Right There In Your Face Camera Crew/Van so we can interview the fat SOB with the big ass beer gut and no shirt on who lives across the street and hear him say stuff like "I was just sittin har in my trailer watchin wrestlin and drinking a few cold ones when I herd a noise that sounded like a freight train roarin down da street and then I look out my picture windder and this big black spinnin cloud just busted da chit out of Betty Lou's trailer...man, I ain't never seen nuttin like dat before except maybe when Hurricane Hugo came through 'ere and kick our ass back in '89...."

Close Encounter of the DownHill Billies Kind

Lenny and Dave G: Check this out. Justin (red headed longboarding youth patroller of the DHB crew) had his first skatepark experience this past weekend when he went home back to Maryland to visit his folks. He is riding transition for the very first time at Landsdown when this "older dude" as he described him comes in and starts ripping the place...the dude was Cabbage! They got to talking and he told Justin he knew you guys! Small skate world huh?

The DHB's are everywhere! Just wait and see!

Assuming ups shows up like normal on thurs. Anyway call me anytime on cell 704-437-2913 with any questions or request. Talk to you soon bro. D. HOLT

Instead of NORTH...you boys from West Bygod Virginia know what direction you have to travel...Remember, Statesville is exactly one gas tank from WV.

DHB Jam Directions
On 3/21/2005 North Carolina Longboarder- DownHill Billies wrote in from United States  (166.82.nnn.nnn)

Dudes and Dudettes,
So far, we have Lenny Poage, Dave Gale, Wesley Tucker, Mark Fuentes, Gary Saenz,
Carl Creider, Ben Barkey and a couple of others coming in from out of town to join the local DHB Crew for the Jam. Local interest has been high for the last two weeks so I suspect we will far surpass the first jam in numbers.

Here are the directions from those coming into for the jam from out of town.
On I-77 Take Exit 45 (this is only 7 miles south of I-40)

FROM I-77 NORTH (Coming from West Bygod Virginia):
Exit 45 Turn right at top of ramp onto Amity Hill Road
Take a left onto Murdock Road (approx. 1/2 mile)
Follow Murdock Road until is crosses US 21 in Troutman
Road turns into Old Mountain Road
Turn right into Barium Valley Development (first new development on right)
This is The SPOT
If you go to South Iredell High School on left you have gone too far..turn around Sucka!

FROM I-77 NORTH (Coming From South Carolina- Gamecock country)
Exit 45 Turn left at top of ramp onto Amity Hill Road (cross I-77)
Take a left onto Murdock Road (approx. 1/2 mile)
Follow Murdock Road until is crosses US 21 in Troutman
Road turns into Old Mountain Road
Turn right into Barium Valley Development (first new development on right)
This is The SPOT
If you go to South Iredell High School on left you have gone too far..turn around Sucka!

PARKING: When you come into the development the first road on the left dead ends into a cul de sac, please park as far down that street as possible. We need to keep as many cars out of the skate area as possible. This development is being marketed and we need to be as low profile as 40 skaters and friends can be..
The F-150 Chairlift is in the shop but other shuttle vehicles will be available and we will shuttle riders and gear down to the bottom of the hill or you can ride your boards down.

Tee shirts will be for sell at the jam so bring cash if you want one. We will have the prices figured out by tomorrow. For those of you wanting to be Charter Members special shirts will be available with a designation on the sleeve and will cost an additional $5. All proceeds from shirt sales minus the cost of the shirts and screen printing will go to fund the website...www.downhillbillies.org
Charter Members additional money is to help offset the start up costs.

Also, anyone wanting to pitch in and bring bottled water, a cooler, and other drinks would be appreciated. This development is currently being patrolled by the local police department so alcoholic beverages need to be kept hidden.
We are still working on after jam plans to give you the opportunity to partake in the fermented drink of your choice.
By the way, Troutman is a small town but they do have a drug dog.

Please drop me an e-mail if you need further information. My mobile number is
704 657 9531.

Look forward to seeing you at the jam. Bring your slalom boards, your carving boards, your downhill boards, or just bring yourself! It is going to be a blast.

DHB Jam And Website Update
On 3/21/2005 North Carolina Longboarder- DownHill Billies wrote in from United States  (166.82.nnn.nnn)

Yo Bros and Sistas. Got back from Columbia last night, didn't get to ride any but drove right past exit 46. Had a board in my car but no helmet and my 12 year old daughter was with me...so no skating for Dad! I would have hated for her to have to have driven me to the hospital!

Here is what my boys at the Greenville NWS office are officially saying:
.FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A 30 PERCENT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS. LOWS IN THE MID 40S. HIGHS IN THE MID 60S.

I will post daily updates but as far I can tell the DOWNHILL BILLIES JAM II IS ON!

Website Update: I have the basis site put together but I thought I would wait until we get the pictures from this weekend's jam to put it up on the net. Please, anyone who brings a camera this weekend, send me your pics, either digital via email, or drop them by my office to be scanned.
G-Flash: drop them to me in an email..I will put them in your section! Rock on bro! Send them to my work email marionkarr@execquestDOTcom

Gotta respect the sunshine dance! I was just on www.weather.com and the forecast for the Jam is now sunshine and upper 60s (about perfect). Again, that's way far off and we'll see what NCL's NWS hook-ups are saying, but I'm a bit more stoked on that forecast than the other!
