Hey all.
Shayne, i think it is a great thing you are doing, iwish you the best of luck and speed on your journey. I was looking at the vidoes on www.whoisadamcolton.com (awesome riding by the way) and wondering what boards you are using, primarily the very-longboard used for the sponsorship video(with the cool graphic on top). Thanks,
Tom

Shayne, Drop me an email. The DownHill Billies will hook your crew up with some DHB shirts for your trip. Also, if you decide to journal your trip on your site we will put a link to it on www.downhillbillies.org.
Site update: I apologize for the delay in getting the site up...my schedule has gone crazy the last few weeks but I am traveling to Chicago today for the next 3 days and will have quite a bit of downtime at the airport and at the hotel. I am taking my laptop and will be working on the site.

Shayne,
Look next to DISIPLINES above for the discussion forum entitled "SAA" (it's the last one on the list.)
That's the discussion topic created the last time Jack, Nick and the rest of the crew skated across America for Lowe Syndrome. You might want to read that and get some insight into their experience.

Odd... I have the same phobia! But for different reasons. I fear chainsaws, because usually when I am "directed" to use one it means spring is here and instead of running cones or carving a clear road...I'm dropping trees that offend the garden and threaten the abode. Oh well, I did get to harvest some Catawba,Chestnut and Palonia wood that may come in handy for a few homemade projects

My wife has a phobia of chainsaws. I mean if a weedwacker is too loud, she freaks. I ewas shoicked when she let me take her to the movie last year. It didn't have the theraputic effects I hypothisized...
Just thought I'd share.

Dudes! I scouted the Hobby Park (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) Soap Box Derby Hill today and it is seriously sweet for some slalom! Seriously sweet! To keep from duplicate post, check my pics and posts on the Slalom Forum that I am going to do here in a few minutes. I will also post a copy on www_slalomskateboarder_com. Dudes, this spot would be cool for some longboarding too....
Dave G: Got to talk to your lovely wife on the phone today..something about you going to rent Texas Chainsaw Massacre...oh, no...I mean you were gone to get some gas for your chainsaw....

Austin: Sounds awesome bro! Keep killin it.
Winston-Salem riders: Dude, Hobby Park near Clemmons has a soap box derby hill. I haven't been there in few years since I quit racing mtn bikes after my neck surgery (there is a sick mtn bike trail there). Any one been by there lately? What does the surface of the Soap Box derby hill look like? What does the runout look like?
I need to ride by there...I would like to set up a slalom course there sometime. If anyone has some info give me a shout.

Anyone of the DHB's that want to ride down with me to Exit 46 give me a call or drop me an email.
Talked with Jaybird this morning and apparently Steve O is feeling some better but still has a big headache and his vision is still a little blury. I have been knocked out three times in my life and I know what he is going through. Again, all of us need to thank God for keeping us safe and as DHolt said it---WEAR A HELMET!

Exit 46 Session April 10 AT NOON

Exit 46 session THIS SUNDAY AT NOON.* I will probably get there between 11:00 and 11:30 and try desperately to set a "trade street style" course": some easy offsets at the top, five wide breakers in the middle, a screaming rip at the bottom with a kicker to the left.
This course is good for any kind of board: regular slalom or you can steer a planker through it if you're up to it. Also, anyone wanting to bomb the hill is welcome. Pads, Helmets, gloves and maybe a rosary are highly recommended.
*Watch the weather for WHITE OAK, SC.
