How exactly does one "use his brain"? Just wondering because evidently my career in education (either teaching, or getting my M.Ed.) must not qualify? Like everyone here has said, you're a kook. Go play golf, get fat, and wish your life was as fun as ours. I agree with it all, except one... Hey Mark!!! What's wrong with being bald?!?!?!!? :-)

JL, you puss. Yoy have no idea about life. Most of us guys play with our skateboards cause we like it. I sk8 with my kids and my grandhild (another one on the way soon).
A lot of the guys here inspire the kids you speak about. One of the kids that sk8'd for me 12 years ago is making close to 1/2 mill $ a year playing with hid toys. He is one of several making good money from what I have dedicated my life doing.
Quit doing, what I'm doing? I get to work at a sk8park, build ramps, do demo's, TV, Newspaper and coach kids 7 days a week. What a life. Wouldn't change it foe the World. You know the best part of it all. I'm getting to COMPETE with the best skateboarders in the World at age 46.
You may want to re-think your chosen (whatever it is you do). You should come on out and play with us sometime. I'll take you on on a Slalom race and I'll ride on my hands just to give you a chance.

Bruce called me on monday and did not give me his last name- or I was not paying attention. I did not know who it was- several drinks had accumulated in my body by then. He "e" mailed me and that;s when I realized I had been talking to Brewington. Anyway, he will be piggybacking with us to Stockholm next month. He was sorry he missed Paris this year as he had been last year.

Sure Mark McCree is a role model. But I'll tell you who I miss. Bruce Brewington! What happened to that guy? The people of Paris loved him too. Somebody call him up and get him back out here.

A great shot by Niall of Mark McCree blasting in Paris.
I'll bet when we are all in wheelchairs we'll STILL be racing.

You damned 40 year old young punks don't know what yer talkin' about! At 51 many, many things become much clearer, and as far as I can tell, I'm a faster and more exuberant skater than about 98% of the people I meet out there. Stay young, work out, eat better, skate smarter, then rip when you blow out of the gates baby. Glad to see my 40+ bros out there killing it and schooling ANYONE who cares to show up!
John O... are you going to make it to Maryhill? How are you geting there?

It's a blessing and a privilege to be involved in something so cool. Most of these guys have very full and productive lives -- and "use their brain" all the time. The difference is they don't keep it locked in such a tightly closed box as you do. Take the lid off and live a little.

JL, What's the deal bro? Like Mr. Richie, I am also 42 year old. I skate because I like it. I skate because I can. I skate because it has led me to life long friendships. I skate because it gives me an opportunity to share with other people, both adult and children, my faith. And I skate because it freaks out all of the people in my town that are like you. What's the rub? What does it matter to you what some other person does as long as it does not harm you or affect you in any way? Do you play golf? That's a game. Why in the world are you playing games following a stupid ball around a field? Do you watch NASCAR? Cars going around in circle over and over and over again seems kind of silly doesn't it? Do you follow any other sports (baseball, basketball, football, etc)? They are all games. Games are for children. Why would you waste your time sitting around watching other people play games? Doesn't all of this sound ridiculous? Just because skateboarding is not an activity that the majority of adults participate in or are involved in, by no means relegates it as children activity only! I am skater. I am proud of being a skater. I will be a skater until I am no longer physically able to be a skater or I die, which ever comes first.
And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... our SKATEBOARDS!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
