What a cruel deception, two days ago, I tought we were going to have some good temperatures, and maybe (what a fool I was)no more snow. Tsk tsk, when I woke up this morning, it was there in the street, 6 inch of f¤!£* snow. At this moment, it's almost a feet, what a cruel deception. I won't be able to ride my longboard until a week or two. I envy all of you who live on the sunny side of the earth

Here in Utah, we have something MUCH better than a skate park. We have a fatty trail that goes right down the middle of the canyon. You ride along next to the river in the middle of the canyon. There are hundreds of trails that you can hike up to sit and chill. Gorgeous view, private, sleuth for chilling and best of all, that downward slant and a few hills to bomb. It is great fun.

if you are in the coast guard then this is the place to skate. no other tropical islands have these types of hills with such maintained roads. the hills are of all types; long, short, steep and real steep. One road that goes way back past all the aandon housing, 4-5 miles long, is all down hill so there is no stopping and the speeds get almost unmanageable. there is also two more hills that should be mentioned, one between the phone bank and the Mc Donalds and the other that goes out towards cabble beach, you'll know it when you see it. there are not many carsat all, 1 car per five minutes if that. the only thing that you'll have to watch out for are banana rats, rats that are litterally the size of your cat(they can't see very well at all so you'll sneak up on them real quick). the patole seemed to have better things to do than hassle us so they aren't a probblem. there is also a little skate park, it's pretty nice.

East of the 5 fwy... between Castaic and Gorman (aprox 60 miles north of LA) Exit east on Templin, drive aprox one mile to the top of the hill where the stop sign is (Old Ridge Road)
This is one big ol fast-as-you want to go hill!!! 3 miles long with a 1500 ft over all drop. I'll gps and photo it next time I go up... this time I only had time to ride.
It has several tight turns, several straights and some of the biggest 4 lane, 1/4+ mile long, 150 degree right hand sweepers I have ever seen.
Not much of a run out, so braking sliding at the end is a must. I was hitting the mid-fifties with VERY conservative riding. Hill is easily capable of mid to upper sixtys... HR

For a Santa Rosa native, this is about as good as the longboarding gets in Bozeman. 9 miles of the best pavement in Southwest Montana. Little to no traffic and some sweet views.

Brea VS. San Clemente

I like the bowl at Brea. The street course/open bowls are better at San Clemente but just barely. If you're close to Brea and you like the bowl, don't bother with a trip down to Sna Clemente for the skatepark. Go 10 min's north of Brea and go to Diamond Bar. Bigger 1/4 pipes mainly a street course surround by 5'-7' 1/4 pipes.

The new bowls in vancouver kick ass!! I haven't ridden them as they weren't finished when I was there three months ago. Three bowls at different depths connected in series with spines inbetween. There are hips throughout the different levels and a street section surrounds 90 degrees of these perfectly constructed bowls. The coping looked consistant throughout as well. Slam city jam is going to be very good this year!

Near Snow Shoe ski resort 28 lucious miles of steep and curvy hardly ever any traffic. If you want to carve it's a never ending journey. If you like to bomb you can't wait to get to the Williams river to start slowing down!!

I went out to the left side of the Valley to check out the Knapp Park ditch. It's still going. There were 3 kids riding shortboards in the upper mid section. Below that, there was water running and there were sections that need some concrete patch. The very top section by the baseball field looks the best but there are some willows growing over a section of it. It's small but could be fun to skate.
