So that explaines why every time I have a skatespot question you have an answer. I met a film industry guy out at brea a few weeks ago on a friday, was that you? Talking about going to a place called the jungle bowl?

I've been blessed/cursed with working in television which is seasonal. I have recently had 4 months off. My side business is filming and editing video for dental surgical companies and skate companies. ( both involve blood). This sends me off to most of So.Cal. to film or as I tell my wife, I have to go to these parks to check when the lighting is best so I know the locations to call based on time of day and hazy/fog/clear days.
She actually bought into the excuse.

Santa Barbara to So. Orange County
Good- Temecula Public Ollie House Temecula Vans Orange Brickyard Skatelab Brea Public - fun bowl. Bell Gardens Public - fun little bowl Diamond Bar Public - nice overall layout Santa Barbara - not confirmed but I hear it's good Vans Ontario - not great, fun outdoor section. Corona #1 - could be fun if no groms are there. Malibu - only one thing to ride but it's fun San Jacinto Assembly of God church skatepark - being built and designed by Tom Fain. It will be open in a few weeks and will have a bowl.
Don't bother - Fullerton - best of the lame parks, real small street only San Dimas - smaller and lamer layout. Nazi cops. Glendora - lame layout Long Beach - horrible concrete and coping work Camarillo - bowl can be fun but hard to keep speed in. Santa Clarita - don't waste your time, if it's not groms, they're filming Razor ad's. Glendale - you call 3, 2 foot ramps a skatepark? Burbank - you call 4 dangerous ramps on a tennis court a skatepark? Clairmont - small doesn't describe how small this place is. Huntington Beach - too crowded and small, if you had it to yourself, you could have fun.

rj, could you give a little more detail? So Cal is big, and there are lots of parks. Brea in north orange county is fun. I've heard good things about fullerton. San Clemente is good too.

Richmond VA The best spot I've found is Hollywood Cemetary. Steep and winding trails and everything else. Downtown Richmond is nice too but too many intersections. I know Blacksburgs best spots too.

I heard that the concrete work was awful and needed to be completely rebuilt. It's nice to see that they are going to rebuild it. The other cities with poorly design and constructed miniature skateparks should follow Coronado's example.

this park rocks . not exactly a longboard specific park like temecula . but a well all around cocrtete park mostly pools and spines . smooth transisitions . great 4 pool boards and sector9 clouds but it ripped the most on my brudo gravity . several elements can be combined 4 a snke run . few short boarders!!!!!!!

Any carvers in SLC area need to check this out- South end of the valley, particularly in the rich areas of South Jordan and Riverton, are the most beautiful hills with the most beautiful cars never driving on them. In fact, hardly any cars ever drive on them. And these hills are perfect for leisurely rides. They range from 5-30 degree slopes, the more shallow the longer the ride. These communities were seemingly designed for longskating. Anyone wanting to go carve w/ me, e-mail at illbox@hotmail.com.

Denver Skate Park - Commons Park Near 15th and Platte

I live near the new skate park they're building in Commons Park (this is just North - via the Platte River Trail - of the REI at 15th and Platte). It looks like construction is coming along. It should be a hoot to ride there.
Does anyone know when the completion date is though?

Where is your shop, I might happen by on a Saturday sometime. I'm getting ready for some outdoor climbing again, so I'll be at Campmor or Ramsey Outdoor in the near future. It would be cool to ride with someone who has some experience. I'd like to see what other people are doing with the sport!
Thanks.
PS - I'm going back to Vegas the weekend after Easter to climb the prince of darkness. I got waethered out in October. I didn't get any response to my posting back then, but I've had the Red Rocks loop road in my mind since then. The pintail is coming with me!!!! Hugh R also had a couple nice pictures of some ditches in Henderson. I wish I booked a longer trip!

I've just checked out some of the hills around Bethpage Park and some of them where all right, none where to long, but you could get some speed on them. Watch out a buddie of mine busted his head and had to get stiches, along with the worst roadrash Iv'e ever seen on someones face.
