Great meeting place for skaters and bladers. Nice tarmac promenade, next to Serpentine Lake. Quintessential English park.

Henry, if you are up for a drive, head up to Blairsville, GA for some of the absolute best pavement I've ever seen. Miles and miles of perfect asphalt, plenty of 40 mph hills, s-curves, 3 mile downhill runs, etc. Almost any road in the vicinity is excellent. Take 75 North out of Atlanta to 575, then becomes Rt. 5 to Blairsville. several parks in the area, too. 2 hrs. from Atlanta, and worth it.

I love riding Tantalus. I hit several times on longboard and luge. Just be careful of the wet mossy stuff at the top. The coolest feature of riding here is that you can get a cab ride from the hotel in Wakiki to the top for just a few bucks. bob

Used to live in Hawaii, but never skated there. Most insane run would be Tantalus... but any of the ridges along H1 near Hawaii Kai would have tons of hills.

I live at Camden & Bascom. The bike trail at Los Gatos creek trail has a few real small hills. There is a bank on the path that you can hit backside for regular foot that is right under where Camden crosses over the creek. Keep going that direction and there is a small but steep little hill that you can do and walk back up. On the other side of the creek there is a longer mellower hill that is fun if you start on Camden and push as fast as you can, just remember to move the gate beforehand. If you follow that path there is another small hill and then you can keep going to downtown Campbell where there is a park with basketball courts that has a good parking lot for carving. You can also hot the parking garage at the Pruneyard after that. It's not that great, but if you hit all these things you can have fun. It's about 1 mile between all these spots. Watch out for kooky spandex clad bike riders and joggers on the trail.

David, I live right on Blossom Hill close to Camden. I just started to longboard and am still learning. Now that the weather is nice, would love to hit some small stuff to begin.

i am a bit apprehensive abotu turning you all into this sweetaction ultra bad spot. its been our local secret for a few months now. the hills off of highway 5 in patterson, ca. are the sickest place to dowhill skate ever. there is a car every 20 minutes so youcan own the road. smooth road. hills ro bomb. a few weeks ago i went over half a mile, just crusing with no kicks. at about 17 miles an hour. just watch out for the one cattle guard. it is also ultra beautiful and peacefull. no buldings, excecpt for the occasional farm house. but you and the cows. beautifull little creek. also, for you mt. boarders. the hills on the side of the road are sick action. we bomb them all the time. either steep and killer or long and sloping. i still have some scret places out there i am gonna keep to myself. you might find them. email and i might tell you. but please enjoy it! jake

I found some very decent hills west of Blossom Hill Road near Los Gatos--might actually be in Los Gatos. Good area to take beginners and still have lots of fun if you love to cruise and go fast.
Anybody else out here in this area?

i'm an old skool skate/surfer (34) who has recently started riding again after many years. been cruising my sector9 down my c.d./madrona area neighborhood hills (medium traffic but road conditions can change suddenly) but am looking for riding partners to find some fresh asphalt, long carvable hills, and do night rides this summer. growing up in portland i found many fun downhill spots and used to ride parking garages in the winter - need to find some spots in seatown and peeps to ride them with!

Is Norristown too far? Zip 19403. Paul V. Fly school on Potshop (not kidding) Road. Lots of long, low traffic hills with clear sight lines that dump into the school parking lots. Safe for kids.
40 to 50 minutes from center city phila. Directions on the web, search Paul V. Fly school.

The State park entrance at the end of 64th has just been paved.
The only hill is right @ the entrance and the rest of the street is a 2.5 mile up and down through the park with several grind spots. Low auto traffic, numerous blind curves.
A single track mtn bike trail runs next to the pavement which offers several spots (dirt banks, sand traps, switch backs) for off road skating.

the top of the hill is great for carve boards, the lower side and the neighboring streets are better for long boards.

Anybody know of any spots in the Cherry Hill/Philly area where an 42 year old skate geezer and his young son can ride? My longboard should be complete by next week and I'd like to go riding somewhere where we both can start learning the basics...
