We have got a wonderful parking house at our local college, totally empty from 6pm, 8 levels connected through ramps, you can go down fontside or backside, with tight or wide turns, and lots of stairs to walk up again ...
Perfect Spot ...
Any more parking house "downhillers" out there ?

Repair Man - I dunno about spots more south than where I am in NJ (I think it'sa pretty darn flat down there), but if you and the boys ever feel like a short road trip up the Parkway to exit 116 - The PNC Bank Arts center is a great place for all riders of all skills. The front lots are on a nice grade and you can zig zag in and out of each level (the pavement could be better in the front). And in the back, there's a nice smooth steep straight away that takes about a 70 degree left and then straightens and then goes up again. Pavement in back is great. I can email you a clip of this run, if you like.

Sorry, just saw you were wacky, not whacky. . .
We were not going to bow to terrorism and planned to move ahead, but we had 2 people involved in the meeting's father die, some others who still expressed a desire to not travel, and some others who had "other things" come up, wo we've postponed the meeting until 11/12/01, so I doubt it will be nice enough to ride, and not enough snow to ski, so who knows.
I usually carve on a G&S Fibreflex Leemo with Exkate 201s and Kryptonics Classic 70mm (green in front, red in back). I have a Landyachtz Chief with Randalls and Cherry Bombs for bombing. These were the two longboards I would bring, then I'd probably bring my Comet Race Wide with seismics and NGENs for some serious high altitude pumping. Maybe November, eh?

Lansdowne Skate Park Update

FYI for all those who have not been to the Lansdowne, Maryland park in a while - there have been a few changes to the park since early August. The park is still free, but there is now a helmet and pads rule, as well as established hours of operations (weekends 10 am to dusk) and (after school til dusk during the week). Also, you now must sign a waiver, which the city/county will process and mail a Lansdowne "membership" card.
There is now a fence around the park and a gated door with a lock. When I was there (Sunday, 9/30), the door was manned by a older gentleman from the surrounding townhouse community association (yes - the homeowners association). Unclear on whether he is getting paid to do this or not.
The new rules are this:
1) Pads/helmets must be worn at all times 2) No bikes 3) No scooters 4) Established hours of operation
Interestingly, you can still spraypaint/tag the park as much as you like. In any event, the guy running the door told me that the city/county is going to be making some improvements to the park. Also, you can now drive up to the park, as opposed to parking on Bero road.
All in all, the changes are minimal and really do not impact on skating. The best thing about the changes is that there is less debris and glass to hit and/or be cut on.
Later,
Andrew

this little death-trap has been my main spot for years, and it's right down the street. the best part is that its fast, its on a slight decline, so you start at the top, and carve and slash all the way down. concrete waves! i just pretend that i'm surfing a stationary wave. (i live in misery MO.) 60mm wheels and up are a must, due to cracks and holes. and speaking of holes close to the end half of the ditch a large chunk has eroded away, and you carve over it if you get the stoke to. its not the best but it works. anyone who knows of other ditches and or banks in stL. let me know, and if you go, let me know, i'll bring the beer.
