Pretty cool, but small. It has a snake run and a hill with
a bowl in it, but that's it.

Hey Seth,

Have you tried around Bellingham? I don't have any spots in particular, but from what I remember of the place there's some nice quiet roads around the university. If that fails grab a snowboard and enjoy a day on Mt. Baker.

Santa Clara SkatePark
On 9/5/1998 fiveflavors wrote in from ()

Well, as eggman said, a skatepark is bein built in santa clra but we have been slated
for like a year and a half! It will be done in november and in the meantime, The Youth Activity Center on Pruneridge in Santa Clara
has a skatepark with everything. Go check out if you're in the area! So muchm, not enough to explain! But,
the Zone in Cupertino is gone, gotta wait till Halloween i guess! But the Bethel Skatepark is open!
So, email me further details on santa clara skatepark and any others.

P.S. I have also heard of a los gatos skatepark! I will check out! !

City of Santa Clara Skatepark
On 9/1/1998 eggman wrote in from ()

Hey Kiddies,
Well I visited the City of Santa Clara's webpage and found this reference to a new skatepark being built. Too bad they did not post the plans....

"Skate Park - Carolyn McDowell shared the City's progress on the Skate Park project. The architect finished the construction drawings, and the project will go out to bid in September. If everything goes smoothly, construction should begin in November."

Ok, I hear there might be a snake run, but who knows. I can hardly wait.
later late.

Mission Hills Fremont CA

The hills of Fremont are sick! Anyone in the bay area who has the need for speed should check them out. The next time your drivin on 680 just get off on Mission and you will see what I mean. I don't have the sack yet to take on some of the hills but maybe you do. You can see a sick hill from the 680 freeway going north to Pleasanton if you look up on your right after Mission. If anybody in the Fremont or Bay Area wants to mob some hills e-mail me.

skyline-snake road,oakland
On 8/31/1998 Phil wrote in from ()

this is an excellent run for people just getting used to their board. It's not too steep, and there are very few cars. It's about 2 miles long with a flat stretch halfway in between for those wanting a break from speed. It's conveniently located at the intersection of Grizzly Peak Road and Skyline blvd. This intersection is actually the starting point of two runs -- I'll explain the other one next. Once at the intersection, head off down the hill. I'm talking about the hill going towards the direction of the forest service station about 50 yards down the road. you'll be cruizing for about a mile. There's a sharp turn about .75 miles through the first leg, so be ready for it. Also be aware of cement bumps created by caltrans cementing over pipes and such in the road. The bumps aren't dangerous, just annoying really. After the aforementioned sharp turn, you'll be dumped into a flat stretch. You'll most likely slow down to a stop here. Keep cruisin down the road (still skyline blvd) until you reach an intersection. this is where you reach the start of the second leg of the trip. This is also the intersection with Snak road. Beginners will want to be careful on this stretch because it's a little bit steeper and dumps into a 4 way stop sign intersection where you usually meet a few cars -- a great place to learn sliding techniques ;). So anyway, cruise down snake for an excellent run. I'm at the point now where I don't need to turn at all, just straight bomb it. It's a relaxing run, very few cars. Very smooth pavement. It's about 1 to 1.5 miles long, and can end when you reach the 4 way stop sign intersection I was just talking about. Continue on down snake road after the stop sign for a much steeper windier road. there are more cars, not too many more, but be careful.

Now, back at the Grizzly Peak rd. Skyline blvd. intersection. If you head off the opposite direction, you'll take a slightly steeper run that lasts about 1.5 miles. It was just repaved, so it's a very smooth run. Nice turns, few cars. Some slow down points. A good run for people who take the skyline-snake run easily.

have fun!

Winchester Skatepark?
On 8/22/1998 NorCal Lova wrote in from ()

Campbell Skatepark I know nothing of but I do know about the Winchester Skatpark.
Its in a church called Bethel Lutheran Church. If you were near the Winchetser Mystery House,
keep goin the oppiste direction towards the Toys R Us, and keep goin till you find this Bethel Lutherna Church. I forgot the
dates but its 5 $ to get in and has some massive ramps. Went there, alright i guess, worth 5 $? you decide.
If you have any info about the Cmabell church Park, Please let me know, it would mean
so much as we NorCal Rippers are sick of skating street and begg for some tranny!

P.S. There is some skatepark at the Youth Activity Center of Santa Clara on Prunereidge. It is supposed to be permanent.
I think that it is finished aound the time you read this so head on down there and check it out.
Also, if you were in the Cupertino area, you missed the Zone Skatpark held by Abundant Life Church.
It was great. Shittty ground but you didn't feel it unless you fell. It had launch ramps, so many quarterepipes/ boxes, rails, curb bank thing, 2 minin
ramps, spines galore, boxes, hips, ummm......anything else?
It ended Friday August 21st and was every other Friday in Summer. Of course, itr was free and no pads required.
But Jesus Preachin went on for about half an hour, but there are hardly any ramps in NBorCal so i didn't really mind.
P.P.S. If anybdy has any inof on any norcal parks besides Yuba, Petaluma, Derby, Greer, Napa, Davis, and Antioch, please(and santa rosa and arcata) please please please
post it or email me!!!PLEASEEEEEE!!!!!

p.p.p.s. Croker Amazon is getting redone in the Excelsior district in the Missio nof SF!!!!IT MAY BE THE RADDEST PPARK IN THE BAY!!!GOWLS AND EVERYTHING!!!Email me on more info

this is a great run for beginners (me) just getting used to
steep hills and slides. it starts out with two basic turns,
and ends with at least half to a quarter mile straight away
thats wide with incredible carving potential. stop sign at
the bottom, but enough flat before it to slow down

HWY 1 (North of Golden Gate Bridge
On 8/11/1998 Hep Kat wrote in from ()

Crazy angles (both degrees and turns)- A great series of mini-runs, but often too crowded with automobiles- another negative- the coastal speed limit is a mere 25MPH zone, which is very quickly exceeded. Best to ride during the week, when traffic towards the beaches is light. Also, wear a helmet- it could save your life.-enjoy

the spot is located in a high class neighboorhood that is built around a country club and golf course in San Juan Capistrano. The best street is Marbella ridge which has a 1/4 mile shallow grade run and a 1/8 mile steep as hell run. most excellent spot in orange county and has good pavement quality. Beware of the anal rent-a-cop
