Hey check out Brookline. Specifically up near Cleveland Circle, past the movie theater on the left hand side. You gotta drive around a bit to find the good hills but there are a few good runs. Also check out the right side of Washington St (in Brookline), off of Beacon. There are some good hills up there if you look hard enough. Traffic is a factor with both these spots There are some cars but it's not too bad. Do you know of any good ones in the area? Your email doesn't work.

there are hills all over the place here! good times! i do the one going down 8th street college drive from fort lewis quite often. it has 2 really tight hairpin turns, the last one is nearly imposible, but i have heard of a few brave soles doing it. then there is another hill towards the airport coming down from a rock quarry. it is nice and smooth, and has no traffic. METAL LIVES!

Hey Alvin in Norway
Get a set of X/T Dirt wheels from exkate and try them on slick icy roads. They are cool. They do grip pretty good so long as you don't do any hard carving. Then you will slide. I use them on my longboard and street luge. So I guess you can say I Ice street luge. They do okay here in Indiana.

utah longboarders rule! i've been longboarding for two years now in the slc area. there arent to many good long parking garages around, i'm still searching for the perfect one. i've skated the irs building without any problems, although i do not advise to risk it. we went at four in the morning and as you might kow, utah nightlife is non-existant. by the time they knew we were there. we were lost in the surrounding alleys after ditching our boards in a dumpster. there is an ok hill up emigration canyon. the end is impossible, and the beggining, although not long is very hairy cuz of the debri in the road. emigration is good also without cars, which is hard to find. late sunday night is the time i reccomend. there is a new 10% grade out by the jail. i wont disclose it though cuz of how good it is, but if you find it we will be accepting. well, i need more places and more people to go with so get your mojo groovin and respond.

New Vans Skatepark in Onterio CA.

Just got back from skating the 7:00pm-9:00pm session at the new Vans park. It's bigger than the park at The Block in Orange, has a small pool that reminds me of the small pool at Winchester. A big pool that requires a bit of a burly drop-in but looks cool. A small snake run that leads into a big bowl 9' deep almost vert. This bowl reminded me of the bowls at Pipeline, kinda hard to gyrate on but a big drawn out transition that is well suited to longboards. There is a cool 5' half-pipe and a competition half-pipe, a street course, and a cool little outdoors set of 1/4 pipes that are 3'-4' in height, real good for learning tricks on. One of my favorite places was a small square resevoir in the back that was real cool to carve around building up a ton of speed in. It was only and hour drive out from Burbank at rush hour, and 45 mins. coming back. This is a must skate spot for longboarders, some of the transitions are big and drawn out which makes longboarding real easy.

In the east bay. On eastbound I-24, take "Gateway" exit, right after the caldecott tunnel. Park, run across a cow grazing field, and you will find a sick as fuck drainage ditch. It has a mellow slope to it, and wall to wall runs down the whole thing are a blast, althought the trannies get tight at some points. Be careful, because it is a bust. Sundays and mornings are best. Rock on.

i just moved here from carlsbad, cali to finish up my degree.at first i was pissed becuase no more surfing every day on beautiful waves or streets, but to my suprise this school has some awesome streets and walkways to shred. the main strip down campus is a long steep hill with some sharp turns through a huge turn around( for cars).

Salinis Skatepark...

Well I just went to Salinis Skatepark yesterday. It is pretty good. It was actually "crowded", but not so that I could not ride.
Basically it is a large sunk in flat bottom "bowl" about two and a half feet deep and about as big as two basketball courts. You can drop in anywhere around the bowl. It is not too steep for a longboard if you hit it at an angle. Inside the bowl there is a flat topped pyramid and a table top structure. Also there are two cement half pipes but they are not lined up. (they are at a 90 degree angle from each other at different places in the bowl, so you can't go back and forth like you would in a half pipe.)
Anyway, I was there for an hour or so. It was pretty fun, once I started to figure out different "lines". It is totally free, and they don't hassel you if you don't have pads. I acutally wore pads, cause I did not want to hurt myself. I got lots of comments on my longboard from all the local groms.
In conclusion, it is pretty good. I mean totally better than nothing, but don't drive hours to get there. But for all you skaters that live around there, go check it out.

For any Denver Colorado riders - I found a nearly-completed parking garage on the corner of 15th & Platte in Downtown Denver. 8 stories, no cars parked in it because it is closed off to cars. It is fully lit, no security either. The ground is a bit dusty, which makes sliding soooooo much easier.
If you want more info, e-mail me.

Just did this hill in daylight for the first time, three runs and I'll tell ya its not scary in the day but its a lot of fun,I don't think the three hills are 40 mph hills anymore but the hairpins are interesting, they are the widest stretch of pavement on the hill and pretty damn flat, I just leaned and draged a glove, and drifted into and through the turns by the time I got around I was pushing for more speed wishing I'd gone into the turn hotter, Technique or rather judging speed needs to be adjusted,I'm gonna throw my Aluminators on and check them out.

I was in Portland for a month, and found some great STEEP, linked neighborhood roads off the top of Skyline Dr facing south, in all those new developments going up. many are ready, others are still dirty. found a number of promising roads in general up there, but too damn high profile except full moon for a lot of them. damn, did Germantown Rd (?)coming off of Skyline down toward the St John's Bridge look good, though.

PSR, Thanks for the Vermont ones, they sound real, real good. I'm going to have to check those out someday. From my pre-longboarding Carolina mountain travels, I've seen lots of promise there, especially abruptly dropping off the Divide into the foothills, but is there anyone out there that's skated any of the roads?

Three sections of highway immediately come to mind, though they fall short in distance, but not in vert footage.1} Rt 155,just 4 Mi. N.W. of Weston,Vt. It is used less than other two-lane highways in the area, and can be rode from the top in either direction.Very fast in spots, some easy curves, and recent tar. 2}Rt 100,3 mi. north of Killington. This is busier,so summer evenings are the best time to run it.It goes from 7% to 4% and back again, with many curves, for close to 7 miles. 3}Rt 17,on the west side of Mad River Notch. A continuously twisty and steep hill that is avoided by most trucks 'cause it's too gnarly for 'em.There are three full-on hair pin turns, and several sweepers that suddenly tighten up mid-apex.It drops over 1200' on this side into the Champlain Valley,at an average 6% grade.
