Matt,
I've only bombed around in town...mostly the parking garage and West Street. Scroll through the archives and you'll find old entries for Massachusetts in general and a few for the Pioneer Valley. There's a bunch for the Boston area. I actually copied most of the Mass ones out and could email you a copy if you want. Are you in the valley?

Potola Valley California

portola valley is a small town outside of redwoodcity. If you want long sweeping hills, and speeds of fourty plus this is the place for you.
If you don't care about your life this is the place for you.
The cool thing is that Portola Valley is a small town so there
are virtually never any cars on the street.

How did I end up in the I.E.? Only place around with smooth
surfaces and no traffic. Make it late and watch out for the Rent-a-snitch. Any others in the area into downhill and know something I don't, drop a line...Peace!

Anybody out here in Western Mass looking to send some runs together? I've been mostly cruising the hills right around town (and the parking garage in NOHO) but was out on 112 this past weekend in the Ashfield/Goshen area and all I could see where epic runs for the longboard...swooping LONG hills. I'm psyched to head out there this weekend. Gimme an email if you're interested in sniffin out some send-ables.

There are many different ways down to choose from. The streets are pretty windy and lots of stop signs. The distance to Lake Merced/Albertsons are is maybe 3 miles at longest and 1.5 miles at shortest. The long way will have some uphill areas.

From the top, where the park is(huge cross on the very top) take any street down but find your way to Terecita Blvd. Take that street down to where it hits Monterey Blvd. Go right up Monterey for a couple of blocks and go down any street on the left until you hit Ocean Ave. Take that until Juniprea Serra. Then go to down to Stonestown. Then take the 2nd street north(right) from the mall down to lake Merced. Cut right to Albertsons and get a cab back to your car. email me if you want to skate this with me or get a map. 1 hour ride.

Sacred spots
On 1/7/2000 Herbn wrote in from (207.198.nnn.nnn)

I wouldn't worry about ruining a spot on this website, just post something else that pushes the "secret spot" out of immediate view, and almost no one will see it. No one (figure of speech)reads back or searches, if they did the reoccuring questions about wedgepads, bearing care and such would not be there so post away ,most of the spots are probabely riden by more people than you think ,unless you hang there 24-7 you don't know everyone that skates at "your spot".

Cory, e-mail me your number again. I'm probably going to be up there again tonight.

Yeah, last night was colder than a witches tit but I usually skate in a hooded sweat shirt under my snowboard jacket, gloves, and a toasty warm beanie...my nose is the only thing that freezes.

Hizzout,

you should really call me up so we can do some of these hills. I really need to get out. Wasn't it a little chilly last night to be longboarding. I think I got frostbite on my nose just walking from my house to the car. jk.

Entrance to Six Flags Eliches (For the Denver Boys)
On 1/6/2000 Hizzout (Formerly known as Newbie Boarder) wrote in from (4.18.nnn.nnn)

Last night I found that the entrance to Six Flags Elich Gardens (On Elich Ave. off of Speer Blvd.) has a fairly nice slope to it where you can get some speed.

In fact, last night after about my 5th run, a cop pulled up beside me and told me I need to leave, I was going too fast in the 30 mph zone. Now I don't know if I was going that fast, but I was stoked to hear that.

Hope to see the Denver boys out there some time!

Santa Cruz Skatepark (Jose Park)
On 1/4/2000 eggman wrote in from (156.39.nnn.nnn)

Hey all.
A new skateboard park opened in Santa Cruz. No, this is not the long awaited Santa Cruz skatepark, this is another one! Anyway, it is pretty small and not as fun as Derby. It looks like it could be way fun if nobody was there, but it has been crowded with little groms everytime I have been there.

So, it is on Jose street which is off of Capitola road, Exit Soquel drive off the 1, and turn down 7th street, towards the harbor. Turn left at Capitola road and it is like the third street on the right.

As far as the other skatepark, I just got this e-mail from my buddy....
"Well it looks like the big skate park in Santa Cruz has finally got
approval. It will be built near the waste management plant on Bay street.
It is supposed to be a 14,600 sq ft. skate park. Sounds big to me which
also sounds cool."

Anyway, now you know what I know.
Later late

42nd and Ulloa in the sunset, gives you 6 wide and smooth blocks of downhill with only one stop sign. Some flat areas but enough grade to keep your speed up. I hit 35mph on it yesterday.

an elevator at the bottom. then some kid got hurt, his parents
sued the city and now there are security gaurds..if you are
feeling adventurous, you can still get a couple of runs in
before they chase you off...

we need to retake the concourse!!!

Sk8boarders starving for carving make your journey to Landsdowne,MD in the southern part of Baltimore. Go during Spring or Fall Sundays and your in zen! It's free, but do bring food, drink, a broom, and a dust pan. While you're in Maryland you'll want to head to the coast and check out the Ocean Bowl in Ocean City as well.
