There is a couple of quicktime movies of the skatepark at: http://www.extremesports.com/movie_vault/industry2.html#
We see the snakerun, the bowl, and pool riding. I live way too far to ride it but it looks rideable for a longboarder if you are in the area.

Go to Loch Raven on Saturdays and Sundays. The road is closed parking is kinda of a bitch though. Cops don't care about the green. Great place o work up a sweat and go rock jumping. if you in the area it is a must do.

Slam, sounds good. It would be nice to get together and take turns driving. I`ve skated the Tech center some, but it would be nice not to have to walk back up the hill! Keep in touch, and let`s bomb some hills! Happy 4th. Skate hard it`s later than we think. Drop me an e-mail if you guys want to get together

Fantastic night riding - quiet, super-smooth, dimly lit wide streets with good decents. Bars and cafes at ther bottom and cheap bus rides back to the top of the hill. Massive amounts of fun on Kiwi designed and built longboards.

Dear Fuzz, Jeff, and Hizzout(if your listening), I think there may be a few places to go ride especially if we do some shuttleing. I hope to hear from you all so we can get something rolling:)

OB Skatepark, least crowded sessions

Least crowded sessions are the weekday mornings (the first few hours after it opens at 9AM), so that's when I usually go. Today it was a little more crowded than usual because of the holiday. So, when there aren't any holidays, a weekday morning is best, even with kids out of school it's pretty decent, but when their in school there is even less people.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the info. Since I last wrote I found the 12 story you're talking about on 17th & Sherman. As far as I can tell there's no security on weekends. We also got really lucky yesterday at 15th & Welton downtown. This one is one of the best I've done so far and and we walked right through while the guard was sleeping!! It's 12 floors and smooth but grippy. This one is only possible on weekends because of security. Also, at 19th & California (west side of street) there's another 12 story that is super smooth and fast. It has two sides, one with security and one without. It will be great for sliding once I get that down. I'll keep posting my finds.

Fuzz, I used to skate the parking garage at the movie theater on Colo. Blvd. alot. Also, I`ve skated some garages south of Colfax where all the hositals are, Rose medical center etc. Have you been skating that 12 story garage west of 16th? That was a great run. We got ran out by security and I haven`t been back.

Doobie-UCSD is a better school than CSUN. The University of California's are better and harder to get into than the California State Universities. UCSD is a real good school. San Diego rocks. When my kids are grown and out of school, I want to move down there. They also have some of the best skateparks with Encinitas, Mission, and OB. Good hills and surf to boot.
The Brickyard skatepark http://www.brickyardskate.com/ I went here today to film a couple of pro skaters from the 70's and 80's. Tom Fain, Sims team and Eddie "El Gato" Elgura. The park is real nice, it has a real nice transistioned 5' mini ramp and a smaller 3'-4' mini ramp, a bowl that is 3'-4' in the shallow end and 6' in the deep. They have a bunch of street and big vert walls and 1/4 pipes outside too. The mini ramp and bowl are real longboard friendly transistions. The only thing I didn't like was the coping in the shallow end of the bowl is real burly. With 60mm wheels, you run into it instead of rolling over it. There are a ton of real nice carving lines in the bowl though. It's about 1 1/2 hour from the Val and worth the drive.

I'm not sure of the situation down there, but would love to find out. Feel free to drop me a line. Anyone else in the mile high city wanting to get together to ride and discover I am down with that. Parking garages or endless roads woohoo! Ever take a look at doing the lower part of loveland pass?

Hugh ...I know where some good hills are in Northridge, chatsworth, Granada Hills... and there is a bike trail along some place like the basin or something... I have a weak memory... and they used to have a full pipe in chatsworth park if I'm remembering correctly... I went to a school out in Granada Hills when I lived in Chatsworth 6 years ago.

Within 10 minutes of CSUN are some very nice hills for both carving and charging. Check riding locations on my page for a few nice downhills in Northridge.

My mom went to CSUN and It is pretty flat and skateboarding is against policy... UCSD sounds good, is it real hard to get into? This is good, I'm getting college info for how good the skating is and how hard it is to get into, My parents would be proud :) ---DOOBIE

I still live at home with my parents in Santee, CA, 30 mins east of San Diego, and go to school at University of California, San Diego.
To make it on topic: I like to hit the Robb Field Skatepark (Ocean Beach) on weekdays when I'm not in class. It's fun, but I need harder wheels I think, Gravity Super G's 80A aren't the ideal for smooth parks. UCSD can also be a fun place, it's got some gentle hills, and some fairly steep short ones. Could be a good place to practice slalom (wide parking lots with mellow grades), though I never have since I haven't gathered anything to use as cones. What also could be promising is that a bunch of new parking structures are currently being built there, I'll see if their worth the ride in a few months.

Well, when you said CAL I immediately thought of University of California, Berkeley, because that's its nickname, which is probably what Jake thought too. I wanted to go there, but didn't get in, and now that I've taken up skateboarding, I sometimes wish I was there (hills, hills, hills!).

I PLAN to go to school in California, I don't know why I capitalized the CAL, but that's just my abbreviation. I think I can get in a good or at least decent schol out there, as I am in honors classes and have like a 3.8 GPA. I think I am doing pretty good. That's how I know that I'll go to school in California. I want to go to Cal Tech though. ---DOOBIE

We have a sucky park out here, but I ain't gonna complain... you all keep bitchin about your parks...out in So-CAL... We have one sucky park out here and that's it... so don't be complaining, I'm here in Kansas and have to Fly or drive somewhere far away to be at a decent park... although I skate our park every day, cause I am determined to get better... regardles of how bad my park is... and so when I go to CAL for college in 3 years... I can rip some good parks... until then I'm stuck here... so stop complaining...you could be worse off... like I am. ---DOOBIE
