This is without a doubt the craziest hill in South Africa It is a laid brick road and when a car at the top reversed out of uts driveway it rolled over! If that is not steep what is?

Anyone remember the small bowl, no coping, next to the half pipe at the Cherry Hill indoor skatepark? I loved it when I was ten and have been looking for photos of that bowl, wondering if I could clone it. It had great carving lines and could be pumped like a half pipe.

Ok Top of Grand Blvd. & 19th, 3 blocks of 10-15 mph ,at 13 St the speeds get around 20-25 mph straight to Keith Rd. (which is about 6th), East for two blocks, is the Top of Keith and Sutherland from their it's 2 miles straight downhill rolling humps with more speed than you can use comfortably around 50+ mph if ya want it! The grade would be around 10-12% ??? at the bottom across the Lynn river is the World Famous Seylynn Bowl ! Grand Daddy to most bowls. It was built around 1978 ?? I'm still having fun in it today. Peace

Geneva drive Both left and right turns just sharper than hairpins incredibly steep lots of cars and stuff pulling out of driveways. Kloof nek in to cape town steep and trafficky. ask craig about the time that they were carving and airbraking down the hill and were trying to slow down but ONLY hit 50 MILES PER HOUR De waal Drive this road isn't even steep or cornery(if that is a word) Cape Towns busiest road don't ask me ask wayne, kent and craig they're the only ones who skate it during ruch hour traffic!! Bellvue road, about a million% grade into a nice 90 degree corner. Oh ja it is also one lane wide and has houses pulling out the driveways all day long and the tar is kind of like a pincushion. That 33% road that my dad desgined steeeeeeeeeep for every three metres you go forwards you go 1 meter down! not only that but it doesn't even have tar instead it has concrete with pebbles in it the road is so steep that while the concrete was drying all the pebbles slid to the bottom! on the 90 degree corner!!(we don't skate this one!) Andrews road 20 % grade dead straight about a half a mile long at the bottom you'll hit speed bumps. The only person I have seen do it was a rollerblader. and he was on street skates other than that you see the odd street skater buttboarding down to get to the school at the bottom. Llandudno road steeeep into a right hand corner at just over 180 degrees a long steepish straight and a super duper tight left hand hairpin(on this corner Stuart Bradburn probably Cape Towns best or second best skater crushed his vertebrae) a mean little right another mean little left and slam on your brakes before you skate into all the cars parked to go to the beach. probably about a mile and a half long. Red hill scarborough This hill was built in the fourties and hasn't been retared since. It is down a 6 kilometre mountain pass with hairpins going straight into other hairpins. Apparantly they TRIED to skate it at last years DHX in my oppinion this is the most challenging hill The glen ah the infamous Glen road In my opinion the best hill in the world(ok there might be better ones but I have never ever left south Africa) steep with lots of little bends in it and the s-bend(the double hairpin that has wiped more skaters than any other that I know of) after the double hairpins you accelerate from about 50 kph to about 85 kph into a nasty little shicain and a longish straight where you can get all those nice top speeds for standup there is a slight chance of 100kph with a heavy tail wind. That is what I think are the most challenging courses in the world

Does anyone make their own 1/2 pipe ramps or banks because their home terrain is flat? I was thinking of making two 4' high 1/2 pipes around 24' or 32' foot long for imitating waves. Has anyone ever done this before or seen one (ridden one)?

I would like opinions on what people think is the most demanding downhill road anywhere? I'll put in my vote for "Centennial Road" in the Berkeley Hills.
Before you list a road, here are a few of my thoughts on what makes a hill tough. 1. It has to be steep. 2. There should be sharp turns. 3. There should be both sharp right and left turns so the course doesn't favor regular or goofy foot riders. 4. The road should be at least a mile in length.
I'm looking forward to your responses.

quite a few folk have been asking us (www.lushlongboards.com) where the Burbage ride is. Go out along the A625 towards hathersage from sheffield, turn right into bents green up the hill and just keep on going ... 4 beautiful miles of downhill. Could do with a few more turns though. You head towards Burbage Bridge if you're hitching.
check for more uk spots on our site soon!

hairpins that is the road JUST HAIRPINS, Tight scary hairpins. Since the DHX road has been closed till the DHX we have been skating here. It starts on a tight little right. Then a tight left hairpin a slight uphill straight into a very tight right hairpin with manholes and patches of tar all over the road. It the road dips down into the next tightish left hairpin. Another slight drop in the road and then a slam of the brakes for the stop street check for cars and a right turn just over 90 degrees. A very tight left hairpin with a huge pothole in it, one more left turn and another tight right and into the tightest hairpin of the road a tight tight left. I can't take the damn corner without sliding

Australian 10km downhill

Howdy guys, I'm an Aussie who has been riding downhill since 1988. Where I live there is the ocean and the mountains, the ocean has killer waves and the mountain, well! We usually skate in groups of five. I live 100metres from the ocean, so we call a Taxi, 5 of us get in, 1 of us farts, and we are on our journey. Its a $18.00 Aus ride to the top. Split that 5 ways and we have a cheap chairlift to the top. This road goes for ten kilometres downhill and is very winding in its manner. Once at the top the taxi driver freaks out thinking we are gooing to kill him and dump him in the bush. The whole ride goes through rain forest and has more hairpins than Pamela Anderson. Ten Kilometres without taking your feet of the board is pretty cool. Its a testing hill, having straights, hairpins with blind corners and cars. To avoid the cars, we go at night so you can see there headlights coming around the corners (daytime is impossible). Depending on how quick you go you can do it in 20mins topspeed, or like us we tend to try and style our way down the mountain, pulling four wheel drifts and soul carves through the hairpins. Anyone that is keen to come and ride this baby drop me a line at Steen1967@yahoo.com ITS SICK

Hayward, CA BART Station: 4 stories. On weekends, few cars and cops. No slides needed, just carving to stop. Pretty fast if you don't carve. Good fun.
Anyone know of any other BART stations with parking lots. Info like cop situation and # of levels would be appreciated. thanks Jake

Ok, there's a new housing development (go figure) in Pittsburg and the street can be seen from the freeway. Santa couldn't bring you a more beautiful street: fresh black pavement, no dots in the middle, a long, not-too-steep downhill, no cars (it's still fenced off), and wide! Oh, I'm going to hit it tomorrow for the first time. I think I will have the honor of being the first person to skate it. The only problem I may have will be the fence to hop and possibly construction workers at the top. I can't wait!!! To get there: exit on the Bay Point exit off Hwy 4. It's in the Pittsburg/Antioch area. You CAN'T miss it from the freeway. E-mail me for more info.

Hey Adam, I'm in Cape Town! How Fast is your Primrose hill, about? Are you riding at the DHX? If you are coming to Cape Town, I would like to suggest you stop off around the Lesotho Highlands water project dams where i have heard RUMOURS of good smooth fast hills. After that head on down to Plett where there is a hill about 1.5km long...It starts off straightish and you could get to over 60km/h, then you negotiate a traffic circle(!!), then straighter faster, turn left, hook right, mellow straight, and then it suddenly drops off like a massive half pipe, sweeping to the right where you will top 90-100km/h and then it runs out at the bottom.
Let us know about Eastern Transvaal, down here most of the hills outside the city are too rough!
