Dude, Moreno valley is not far from where we will be! we are in Anehiem hills, the 91 & 241. Without traffic it should be about 1/2 tops? It would be great to borrow a set up we can only bring so much on the plane. What/where is GMR? I will see if Jason Mitchell would like to join us, I am sure you have met him but if not he and his wife are SUPER great people. Funny how many ex-california folk are in the Denver area. I tried to find on google earth but not sure which direction to look from the center of town???? that sunday the 24th would be awesome!

Mac, the dump will be closed on the 24th and 25th for your riding pleasure. It's quite a drive from the beach towns, but one of the best "fast" hills in SoCal. The dump hill is near Moreno Valley if you want to check a map. I live pretty close to the dump hill and would be stoked to meet you guys there and give you some pointers. I've got some spare DH boards and leathers if you need to pack light. If GMR is still closed to traffic, you guys might consider riding there instead...or skate both if you can! Who has the news on GMR? Did they open it yet? Yep, we like beer!

I assume that hill is somwhere in so cal. Team M&M will be in So Cal the friday before Christmas through the 30th and are looking for some skating, We could bring our DH set ups. We would be in the novice class but would love to hit at least part of that hill and if any of you cats want to cosch a us a bit I will buy the beer for the "post sesh sip".

I forgot about the wheel question. I ran everthing from the new 85 Vents to 70mm ZigZags that day. I was running Pink Gummies for the video run. Wheels don't seem to make much difference at the dump road. Over 50mph it's all about aerodynamics!

Thanks for putting that up John. That was a fun day for sure!
Yea Jamie, that's a pretty fast run. It's 50 to 60mph for a good portion of the hill. The video shows that the draft really starts to work well above 50mph!
Yes, we have talked about a DH school. It could happen one day. Your best bet is to come to SoCal on your next vacation and just come ride with us. Leave a Sunday open if you want some drafting lessons at the dump road!

Don, No secrets here. I'm really not sure what bearings are in my boards at the moment. The shields are so dirty that I can't tell the brand. I like the Pleasure Tool sealed abec3's for everyday use. I have never raced on ceramics. I think I own a set of Ninja Ceramics, but I'm not sure where they are at the moment. I used to buy a fresh set of Bones reds or some cheap ABEC3's before races. I used to think that the "looser" ABEC3's and Bones bearings were faster than "tight" ABEC7's. Bearings really don't make a difference to me. Biltin's are easy to use and just as fast as the rest. I like bearings that are under $10 a set.

I agree with Tyler...I think the old Azonic AZX and similiar Snell B95 rated full-face mountain bike helmets are a good choice for a "fast" downhill helmet. They look and feel sturdier than the hang-glider lids, and the B95 testing is similiar to what the Snell motorsports rated helmets go thru. Seems like a B95 /tested/rated helmet might be a safer bet than DOT, since DOT does not require any testing.

Thank you Dave. I understand. But why are you so bent on no one knowing what they are? I do understand it doesnt make a difference (I really do), but it adds 'tight lip' 'eye squinting' question of still....what they are. Steering away from the bearings, and more towards the obvious. Thats cool. I would guess either custom ceramic Biltins, Oust, or something along those lines anyway. Goodluck next year! (like you need it) Don

Don, bearings are the most insignificant factor in the speed equation. You should spend your time and money on things that make a difference. Work on your tuck first. Custom leathers and a small helmet will make way more difference than any wheel, bearing or truck change.

You know sometimes when you see a video(of yourself)you think "Man that looks way slower than it felt". This one looked FAST, you guys must have been going pretty fast! Have you Bros thought of doing a DH school? Also what wheels did Dave run?

I bought this board along with "bindings" and I would like to know, if I decided to sell it instead of use it (it's unused), how much is it worth? How much would you sell it for?

yeah how about some aero helmets... i've got a motorcycle helmet but it sucks because whenever i tuck it WILL NOT... WILL NOT let me see farther than 25-30ft in front of my toes. is this a problem? should i be thankful it doesn't eat my head like a venus flytrap? yeah... i need a better helmet, any ideas? i already know about the icaro and fibertec or whatever stuff but i need something affordable.

Thanks Mr. Price and Papa Kludy. I'm stoked to still be involved in the downhill scene. WHY?....We all know what Rick says about STANDUP!!!!!!!!1 Thanks to Mr.Caften and Mr.Brooke for thinking we are worthy subjects and keeping us out of trouble with the questions.
Kludy and DC...I'm up for some testing and tucking. Let's see if we can rally some of the troops. If GMR is still closed, we might have a tough time pulling the GMR Boyz away from their favorite hill. How about the SD Boyz?....Sawyer, Justin?
