Yea, I know that young buck. it's this guy here!
Akron Ohio, ah yes...... this is when Ridel(sp?) the guys that make helmets hired some dude to flag me down and attempt to institutionalize racing. RecSpecs, one of the many companies that sought me out after my California heydaze and make themselves cool with skateboarding. The guy was a dirtbag. And like many of them, they still owe me money!
But it got me to Akron to do something. My wife(Sandy) and I had a good time.
wow. what a blast in the past!

Self generated speed, no cones, no ramps, no rails, no hills, no bowls, no steps... sounds boring? Not when you are going for a long run and you toss a skateboard medium below your shoes. Yes, people think it's an awesome display of balance but the reality of it all, is it's something you can take up in your later years to stay in shape. It ain't a bongo board but it's a bongo board on wheels. It's a method to make you come to terms(turns) with switching stance and alternating pushing legs and mixing it up with exchanging lead feet!
Call it whatever you want, but it's almost like riding a unicycle and you can go straight. The real fun begins when you can go backwards and come to a full stop. Mix that same attitude and balance scheme into a reverse in stance and pushing foot.. what do you have? A GREAT F'IN WORKOUT!
Yes! I'M STILL WRAPPED AROUND THE SKOG. 4 times a week.
Perhaps at the ASR show, I'll be able to demonstrate that there's more to vert, racing and rails/steps. not to say it's better but it's a useful way to rip on your board. video's this year will be better than last and it keeps going!

Chris- It is nice to see other families who are in love with family and skating. My son and I enjoyed skating the La Costa Pump Station with you. Keep up the good work on and off the board! Enjoy the ride-Lance NCSC

Proud daddy of 3 kids all skateboarding and promoting dad's skogging antics.
My son should be waking up from the ollie fog soon. He's been downhilling and skogging with pops recently but still finds it "uncool" but then someone is paying the bills and he gives respect...
Mari(28), my oldest daughter wants to hook-up with the Denver seen and race slalom.
Shannon(20), went back to portland with a cruising deck.
Justin(17) is here in San Diego and I'm kickin his ass into skating it up.

My daughter is visiting from Denver and was in Aspen before she caught a plane out here. Aspen lift-tickets are 87.00 !!! I could't believe it. She went on to say it was one of those days where each gondola ride led to new fresh powder. She's a boarder, I ski and board. As for skiing on the flats, I can "skate" telemark style. I hated my snowboard on the flats. Especially in deep snow. She went on to say that the snow kept a majority of the people off the mountain and in the cafeterias and pubs. YIKES. If I spent that much money on tickets, I would've been the last one up before lifts closed. She was :)
Herbn, nice to hear you're rockin out back....
cheers cYa

Herbn, I went Backhillin' this Morning in 14" of s freshy-fluff snow here in VT! Used a vintage Woodie Burton (well, once the O-Sin Swallowtail had cleared a lead-in path) on most of my runs, just to keep it Authentic. Gotta love making bottom-turns in snowdrifts while avoiding Cows munching on haybales! My skateboards are mostly tucked away in the closet now, except the Longboard my 13 month-old twins use as a push-toy in the livingroom.

we've been getting powdered here in jersey actually sleeted, small amounts of frozen water that can linger much longer than the wetness of simple water, aarrgghhh!! If you snowskated for exercise with alternate pushing stances you could call it snogging, snaking is taken if you cut off all you fellow snoggers and hogged the run, you'd be snaking while snogging. iguess i'm searching a bit hard for entertainment.

and brag at the same time:) I clicked off an INSANE speed run on my DH bike on the open green crossing the mid station at plattekill mt 72 mph then 68 mph on a second run,i was later told that this could could be off because of the nature of the magnetiic sensor on a bike computer, the switch that reads bounces off the contacts and picks up some momentum dispite iit's low mass. So if you use one of these little puppies on your skateboard and reprogram it for the wheel size or figure out a mathematical relationsionship for normal speeds the fact that your little skate wheels arespinning higher rpms and exaggerating any existing highspeed inaccuracys(ies?). I think that my real top speeds were in the high 40's perhap's 50's which is still plenty crazy although a frind of mine that has done the same type of runs on that stretch at about the same era in dh biking says we were cracking 70+ with our bigger gearing(26x3 tires and 46tooth front gears vs todays higher clearence 32/36/38) and the relative smoothness of that particular stretch of dirt.If they had a radar gun on that stretch it could be cool ,one of those giant readouts visible to the rider and those on the lift,it would just promote an activity that could lead to excessive carnage.Regardless of the speed i'd give my bars a solid tug at the mid station flat and pull some extended low altitude flights.

court records will show i joined a small elite crowd of nutzo's
my english gf and i were messing around. she was in her accura and me on the two wheeled pony. we were heading for the kern river for a bike rally. she has a lead foot, passed me and even though my internal RADAR was going off i chased her after she got a few miles ahead of me... i cranked it up, and by the time i caught her, it was too late :(
so even though the ticket was 109.. it could've been a lot worse. because i pulled off immediately, he didnt do the misdemeanor thing and lock me up cuz really the last time i got a ticket was about 35+ years ago.
so he could've went light on me, but Kern prides itself on making money from 395 :) basturds!

SV1000 at 190mph

The SV1000 has a published top speed of 155mph and a digital speedo that is known to read 20mph faster than actual at higher speeds (like many MCs). If you've re-geared or modded your engine these stats could be even further off.
Did they get you on radar or VASCAR? I can't imagine a CHP pacing you at those speeds.

isn't that hayabusa area? maybe witha tail wind,or that "always precise and calibrated" cop radar, kind of screwed you a little. What's the sentance in cali for that kind of speeding. Stay safe.

Yea, I actually lots of link-hits to my sites from it. Bad PR better than no PR? :)
Whatever the case, they pick on various characters besides me. Poor Tony Hawk getting a good dose too.
I figure if I'm doing something stirring people to hate, it must be something signifcant.
Perhaps, skogging fits in the rollerskating threads? I have been hard at the skog for months and it's leading to new moves .... new fun and most of all new awareness for my limbs the more I get out.
So I am making a pact with my skogging angel to at least offer the skog 4-5 times a week thru the winter. If it rains, back to indoor hoops.
Persevering and maintaining a balanced healthy food diet helps too. Things are starting to shake now.
I've know way more lovers than haters for skogging. So... i guess that's a good start y0.
