Appreciate the condolences :)
It was her time. Like all of us,, we have a date with the life givers to return to the universe soup for further preparation.
And this event above any other event in my life has given me more motivation to waste less time !
Like a bat out of hell, I seek an angelic form to grab on their coat tails to catch a glimpse of the true purpose and meaning of what the real big picture is.
Cheers Chris Yandall

I'm going to log my outtings HERE from now on and it's linkable from the skogging site.

Weather is looking sucky again! Playing it by ear now. 10 hours to drive to rain and camp is no fun and expensive :(
Need to have a clean bill of passage. Hoping!

Maria at Sk8kings.com shipped my new skogging deck and it arrived today. I set it up with Tracker 149 Racetracks, 78a red Retro Zig Zag 66mm wheels, and Bones Reds bearings. I haven't ridden it yet since it's really cold here in West Virginia (0 degrees tonight) . I stood on it and it seems to feel fine. This deck is really nice since it's flat, wide, and has a long wheelbase. I have a 10 mile running path I'm going to try it out on as soon as it warms up. Thumbs up to Chris on this deck and for Sk8kings for offering this deck for sale.

skogging truck set up

I have a variety of skogging decks. the one you refer to is a testing setup that I decided later on to use a seismic rear(slightly deradded) and a skennet front/radded, instead for a very very very very interesting riiiiiiiiiiide .
getting that killer front cranking tight turn, along with a nice stable rear weight ride is key. only seasoned veterans will get it. the young kids like those tongue decks from the 70's .... open wheel over my feet are worse than wheel bite for my style. but dang, those adam colton front truck manuals rock on 'em!
the kids are still finding their way. :D
i'll just skate circles around them.

Finally after many years of creating an all around fun deck, I GOT ONE!
The board performs well in many conditions but overall, this is the board to get for older people wanting to dip into the sport.
It also represents an era spanning 40 years of deck designs. A little bit of Logan Earth Ski, a little bit of G&S and the rest a current design logic "FLAT IS BACK" from John Galac. The truck set up is simple. Lots of turn up on front truck and stability in the back makes for great recreational board for flat land aerobic skating, downhill cruising up to 40mph(can go faster but tweeking required) and best of all, flatboard tricks.
My personal transportation device.
I'm stoked! Awesome graphics and I'm getting a tattoo based on graphic!

Jack, nice to see you back! Just like the song. Go back, jack ....
giggle
So the best skating for everyone is the one you go out an do. right? at least once a day, i'm on my board looking for a new approach to getting that total body workout going.
SK8KINGS is releasing my production board. I also have a custom(pricey and a paint job you don't want to messup bad). You'll need a custom email sent to chris@yandal.com to inquire about the custom version. i'll pop you an email asap.
On the production board from SK8Kings, the deck is a great hardwood laminate, very stiff by design and with a very very flat deck surface. The setup for the new "Skogging" decks will have dialed in trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware and gripped for real skoggers!
Mind you my son loves the board's capability to go from slow fats to 40ish speeds with great control.
I like the simplicity of the board. Skogging fits into the scope of flatland skating with a board that just feels right the first time you get on it and cranks turns, rides smooth as velvet and best of all, turns on a dime yet has great stability at higherspeeds.
Give www.sk8kings.com a call and ask them!
and welcome back to the fold. great to see you back!
Thanks Chris Yandall

Here's some serious skogging footage. I'm starting to think that going downhill switch foot carving may be my next endeavor to bring a downhill style that adds another dimension for necessitating chairlifts for a downhill park. Anyone got 10 million laying around? I'd love to spearhead an R&D group to do so.

Hey Chris, Used to be Jack in Aurora. Great to see your videos. I've moved back to California. I've been out of it for awhile getting over various maladies. Did you ever put out that 38" deck? I still have my prototype and it has become my favorite all around board. I also still ride my 34" signature. I don't try to skog anymore. I've got balance issues standing on my right foot and have had two bad falls trying to get the hang of it. I broke ribs on both falls. I'm still pumping though and the 38" is still an awesome ride. Anyway I wanted to say Hi. Please shoot me an email jmerica@earthlink dot net. My 13 year old wants to know if you made anymore 38" boards. He wants one. Cheers, Jack in Burbank

"Let your haters be your motivators!" Good motto to live by! Don't let others jealousy & hate get to you. You keep on doing what you're doing & have fun doing it. That's all that's important.

In the spirit of this thread, one alternating leg before the other helps the opposite side leg movement become symmetrical and in the process, a band of balanced muscular development occurs. As these muscles work in a balanced process, special endorfins create a physical state of gyroscopic bliss.....
yo Miller! we're passing up this weekend due to family illness. my mom's 2nd CHF has us all on pins and needles. she's recovering but only in the hospital bed setting... i know you guys will kick it. will be thinking of you!
