The Danger Bay event is over the Canadian May long weekend (18th-21st), and is on the Sunshine Coast of BC. From Vancouver, you will take the ferry to LANGDALE, then drive about an hour and a half to Pender Harbour. Figure your drive time to Vancouver (don't forget the border crossing can be busy!!), then add three hours for ferry and drive time.
The races in Vernon and Kimberly are a pertty good distance from the coast...Both are in the interior of BC.
I will hound Striker (Bricin) to come post some details here. You can post at Coastlongboarding.com for more info, we have a few Q&A threads already going. Hope to see you all there!

The idea for a slalom race as part of DB5 has been expressed by many people. It is just that noone has access to a timing system. You should post up at Coastlongboarding.com and Bricin well get to you much quicker.
I thought the Cascade slalom people were in Salem that weekend (May 21) for a BBQ and race. Are you not part of that? The past few years there has been a race in the NW the same weekend as Danger Bay. I have been fustrated because I have had to choose between a downhill race and a slalom race. As a downhill racer, that is not much of a choice.
Keep working on him, there are lots of places to have an event from TS to scary fast and long super-g. Keep us informed also, I need to know what quiver to bring.

Bricin, I'd like to add a Slalom Race to the events at Danger Bay. The CSA crew has all that is needed (Starting Ramps,Timing System,Cones)and I'm willing to run that part of the event.Interested? Let me know. Thanks. John Stryker johnfordfan427@yahoo.com

I live in Spokane WA and it took me about 20 hours to drive to Denver last summer. Kimberley is about 3.5 hours due north from Spokane. There is an actual race in Vernon and the folks in Calagary have set an unconfirmmed date of July 15th for a race. Three races in tree weeks! BC is kinda fun.
there are all sorts of places to ride in this neck of the woods. Just this weekend we had over 60 people hiking Maryhill. Some drove as far as 15 hours to do it.
