Race Info:

This will be the first dual race ever held at the farm and it's going to be epic. Also, for the first time in slalom history, we're going to have RAMPS in New England. Big thanks to Troy Smart for his excellent craftsmanship.

We'll start the day with our main event, a 60-70 cone Hybrid Course. The top 8 will qualify for the "A" Class and the next 16 will make up the "B" Class and the next 8 will be our first ever "C" Class.

Next we're going to run a dual TS race. If we have enough time, 32 racers will qualify and race. If we are short on time, only the top 16 qualifiers will race. This will be made clear before qualifying starts. There will be no "B" class in this event.

If the day runs smoothly, we will carry on the tradition and have a single lane, one run Vintage Race. All boards, trucks and wheels must be pre-1978. To make it fair, bonus points will be awarded to racers with vintage clothes, hair styles, plastic decks etc. The fastest time will not necessarly be the winner. Style can also give you additional points.

Derby Hill

As you can see the hill is wide and long but not quite as fast or smooth as Shady Lane. Avalons or Grippins will probably be a good call. I give the surface a 6.9 on a scale of 10. Speeds will be similar to LC '01.

Tenitive Schedule

7:30-8:15 Course set-up
8:15-9:15 Hybrid Practice
9:15-9:30 Racers Meeting
9:30-1:30pm Hybrid Dual
1:30-2:30 TS Practice
2:30-6:30 TS racing
6:30-Dusk (If Time Allows) Vintage Race
8:30pm Awards Party at the Hays Barn
9:00pm Til Dawn - The Hays Party

The Hays party is not to be missed this year. Live music from Bomb Squad along with many other surprises. All racers and family members will be treated to some of Port Chester NY's finest Mexican Food. Goat, pork and steak tacos are just a few of the items on the menu. Bring it on!!

Detailed Map

Misc Notes*** For Friday night, I suggest staying in the Danbury, CT area. Bethel is approx. 7 miles from Danbury and is a very quaint CT town. It offers some nice resturants and even sports a few bars. However, for Saturday night, I strongly suggest camping at the Hays Farm or staying in Norwalk, New Canaan or even Stanford, CT. The drive from Bethel (race site) to the party is very difficult at night though it's only 17 miles. You can take main roads but that will take you approx an hour. We will pass out maps at the race and do our best to make sure nobody gets lost. Please feel free to email Tk or Tway any questions, especially if you're a first time farmer.

Also Friday night, there will be a welcoming party at the Tway Farm in Vista, NY. All racers and family are welcome and camping is permitted/encouraged. Bring all your gear 'cause it's primitive.

Final Notes, Sunday August 8th is our rain date.

This years primary charity is going to the Bethel Police Departments K-9 Unit and will be used to spayed and neuter local strays.

This Race is limited to 50 Racers
