RED BULL SKID ROAD WELCOMES BACK THE USA’S TOP DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDERS TO TACKLE SEATTLE’S INFAMOUS “SKID ROAD”
WHO:
Top invited professional downhill skateboarders and local/regional amateur boarders obtained via open registration.

WHAT:
Red Bull Skid Road brings together the world’s top downhill skateboarders, alongside amateur boarders from around the world, to cruise down the legendary “Skid Road.” This course will take riders on an excursion that combines the skills of an urban street skater with those of a traditional downhiller.
After launching down the course, riders will reach speeds exceeding 50 mph while navigating straight-aways, sharp angled turns and unruly terrain, making this one of the most challenging downhill skateboarding experiences in the USA.

Interested amateurs can register to compete on Saturday August 24, 2002 at the Paramount Hotel, 724 Pine Street, downtown Seattle.
WHY:
By combining the world’s best downhill skateboarders with amateurs, Red Bull Skid Road remains one of the only US events that supports longboard downhill skating. This event was created and produced by Red Bull Energy Drink to challenge and support the downhill skateboarding community.
