This could very well stop me from sharing here and I am sad. Maybe like the rest of my life right now. TIME TO MOVE ON ! [/quote:37jq2jy0]Kludy, ur being ridiculous.time to update ur computer to 2009 ur browser can save ur password and have these cookies thing so u don't have to log in everytime. If u haven't notice over the years, Sliverfish have gotten very big, and NCDSA have dropped off in traffic in all other forums except speedboard and slalom..this is partly due to the forum format.TIME TO MOVE FORWARD and not backward!!

I think the single worst factor is less about the potential of the new features and more about the general newness and lack of familiarity. My disappointment is that there isn't as much traffic, NOT the new interface. Hopefully people will get through the initial surprise and get going again. Thanks for being our constant guardian for so long Adam!

Thank you, Pierre. One could even bookmark that link as their main entry point into Ncdsa.com (after activating automatic logins, of course).I appreciate all the love the quirky old site is getting, but c'mon guys; you're comparing a 1972 Vega to a 2009 Corvette. Sure, the Vette has a lot of gizmos and power to get used to but once you do there is simply no looking back. From a strictly administrative viewpoint I can tell you that nursing the old site along (i.e. keeping the database happy, deleting mounds of daily forum spam, etc) had long ago become too burdensome for yours truly.

I can't find the place on this forum where I can always connect with my old friends. This is frustrating. I can't find out what is going on in the community of speedboarders without checking in a hundred different places. This is not working. I could always count on finding out what was going on with a quick check on the speedboarding forum.
Adam, all do respect... we may be old and we may not post all that often but i feel this is a step in the wrong direction. like kludy said look at how few posts there have been since the change. log in, find your forum and talk about things one topic at a time. like a seperate page for each person and if you dont know that person well then your loss.? what was so wrong with a stream of conscienceness we could all look at and be apart of without searching around for what was said or what is next? One stream for each topic and away we go... im not to computer savy and im sure its not all that complicated but why change it. it makes me not want to be apart of it and worries me others might feel the same. I have found this place a home and a great place to connect and meet other like minded people. I dont want to loose such and amazing place to reach out and be reached. please take to heart what I have said and think about what is necessary to keep this community alive. We all love what you have done and dont ever want to see it end.Warmest ragerds Eli smouse[/quote:3uh65m7u]Eli, I guess the old saying about 'you can't make all the people happy all the time' applies here. With change comes some pain, but I think if you give the new site a chance you will come to enjoy it even more than the old one. Keeping up with new posts is considerably easier if you..o Activate the automatic login feature.o Use the 'View active topics' and 'View new posts' links that are at the top of every page.o Use the topic subscription feature that emails you whenever a watched topic gets a new post. While the old Ncdsa software had a certain degree of charm and character, it also had many shortcomings and it was not feasible to try to keep updating it with open source projects like phpBB available. Once I start to roll out features like the mobile device interface I don't think anyone will miss the old bbs.. at least I hope not. As for traffic, I expected it to fall off some as the search engines need to re-index and re-rank us after such a major change. There was also the problem so many members were having with receiving the emailed registration confirmation, which has now been fixed.I've always felt that Ncdsa's value comes not so much from its homegrown software as it does from the quality individuals that choose to participate; that and the lack of inane "kiDdiE cHatTer u c" on most other sites.

I'm with Kludy....bring back the old site. This is just another lame forum now...Where's the individuality? The individuals are being pushed out and the clones are taking over. I used to check NCDSA 5 times day....now it's more like once a week if Im lucky

A redo should be in the works soon, we all are accustomed to the original site, sho us how to dial in an RSS feed and navigate to a quick response. That would make Kludy happy, and/or put the box back on the home screen that tells where people are posting. I had more trouble with the old one than this one, so Adam whoever you are, good job. Going to eat my Krusteaz pankakes and lay low.

I cant take it no more. Deep Price pulled off a full on Basmati Monsoon Kachina dance. Rain, wind, no shine, no problem.Practice and racing commenced with about 25 riders all stoked on getting to show their stuff on a wet desert road, punctuated by lightning and thunder in between sunset colors.Wet, Race, Windy, Dry, Race, Rain and Wind, Race, Wreck and Wet, Race! Leathers are the ultimate are survival layer. I was toasty and Safe. Many had never ridden in the rain let alone raced in it. I couldn't help think of all my Canadian Comrades as I flailed my way into 14th place, smiling and enjoying the couple of fun heats with kids I didn't know and David Angelus and Andreas. Josh Heal up bro! So Good to see you guys! The finals were everything a spectator could hope for. A perfect view of the crux corner (2 hay bales) and a freshly washed Desert Sunset. There were 5 or 6 of us, and also Joel and Haley documenting images.Later a crazed woman awarding everyone she could with warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies brought warmth to the heart of a lot of cold wet racers (and a false sense of caring sponsorship.....)I saw Kyle Wester Fully BOUNCE off of the curb and only lose 2 mph for the win. Why fly off the road and wreck when you can just air hockey right back onto the course? Sweet!!Thanks to Skate School for hosting this rowdy crowd and to Dave Price for taking the time to learn the hard way how to throw a successful race! One at a time. When is #3?
