Hey, I'm going to New Zealand from June 6 to June 20. I want to skate! Aside from New Zealand's plethora of skateparks, can you skate in June? We'll be in Hamilton from June 6-12, then traveling after, and would like to go to Wellington, Christchurch, or other south island destination. Is there enough snow then to snowboard?
If you are down there and reading this, shoot me an email! LYnn

This forum has been a little quiet lately, but there's been a lot happening down here. In March we had an IGSA World Cup Downhill event called Newton's Playground that also included slalom and a bunch of other "extreme" sports, and more recently the annual Conehead Cup slalom races series began with a race in the rain on a totally wet course!

Japan! I'm here and wondering if there is a downhill scene. I'm working off and on for the next week in Tokyo. If there is a kind guide willing to show me some hills, I would be most gratefull. Thank you. Matthew

cheapskates are the biggest skate shop chain. also www.frontsidegrind.co.nz is 'mature' skate forum, lots of info there for the asking. and tich williams is a surf/skate distributor/wholesaler at surf city in ponsonby, auckland. and http://www.rrsport.co.nz/ is another monster 'extreme' retail chain.

Guys thanks for the info and if you come across some more stuff that you think i should know, email me. As for sponsorship, as we grow, we will definitely be looking to have some people on our team. We are still rather small, bu tlook for us in the coming year to make waves, concrete ones...i know that was bad.

Yeah manly blades/skates and cre8ive sk8 are the big ones i know of. There are also the big chain surf stores like city beach, etc...
gravitystunts.com is another forum where Australians discuss skate related stuff, specifically downhill.
As for progression of longboarding is Australia it is definatly gaining in popularity. I feel there is a demographic of people who are interested in longboarding, that in the future are likely to start longboarding, eg surfers, people who pose as surfers, etc...
Another alternative you have to promoting your boards here in Australia is to sponsor me, and give me heaps of free stuff.haha.im obviously joking but that would be cool. hope that helps.

Bustin Boards is a custom longboard company out of NYC in the US. We are trying to expand our boarders to Australia and South America. I am looking for any information possible on the longboard scene in Australia.
info i would like to find: -website links to anything concerning longboarding. -magazines either local or national for us to advertise in -popular skate shops already carrying longboards -Forums that Australians use to discuss this sport -any information regarding longboarding in Australia so we can paint an accurate portrait of how the sport is evolving in your part of the world.
I look forward to hearing back from any and all readers of this forum. all help will be appreciated. thank you
