Contest Info: illustration by Tim Kienitz Mark your calendars, Thursday, April 22nd, 9:00pm;- The first SUPER TIGHT SUPER FAST mind bending straight 6ft center race of the year at one of THE classic skating spots of all time - BICKNELL HILL !!! This will be a straight 6ft center 30 cone single lane shootout. The drop is similar to an FCR starting ramp, just longer and faster! Your super tight gear will be necessary to manage this course at any speed - times will be in the 6- low 7 seconds range for 30 cones. There is a runout into the parking lot. Signup starts at 8:00pm- Practice starts at 8:15pm and racing begins at 9:00pm sharp. Cash Payout through the top 3 spots as follows: 50%/30%/20%. ALSO: I WILL PAY THE FIRST PERSON WHO CAN CRACK THE 30 CONE COURSE CLEAN AT UNDER 6 SECONDS AN ADDITIONAL $ 200. The first person who makes the 30 cone course clean (regardless of time) will get a special prize provided by SK8R / Studio City. Of course there will be an award/prize for the BIGGEST BEEF of the night as well. Winner will also receive a BICKNELL BLITZ TROPHY!!! Additional prizes will be announced soon. Pads required. Each rider will have 3 RUNS- 1/10 penalty/cone- 10th cone DQ's. PLEASE REMEMBER, this is a night race during the week (thursday) so it is imperative to keep the noise level to a minimum. I ask that every racer please hang out below the gate and not on the street as it will get the cops to shut us dowbn right away. Parking shouldn't be a problem. AND as always remember; THIS IS AN OUTLAW race so there is always the possibility that it could be a bust but so far we've never had a problem. For those who have never been on this hill there will be a seperate practice course set if time permits. Email with questions-Attila RACE UPDATE: It looks like quite a few people might show up; Again, signup is at 8:00 - practice starts at 8:15pm , racing at 9:00pm. If you're planning on coming down please sign up so that I have an idea as to how many people I can expect. I will need some people to help with the coneslaughter to keep the flow moving. Every person who just completed a run should wait until the next rider has completed his run before walking back up the hill (pick up cones and signal penalties!!!) In case it is an early bust, the racer's FIRST timed run up to that point will count as his final/best time. If he/ she hasn't had a run yet, he will get his entry fee back. I will get there at 7:00pm - any help would be appreciated!!! RACE UPDATE (4-19-04): I WILL TRY (TIME PERMITTING) TO RUN A SECOND QUICK RACE after the tight on the practice course. This one will be loose and easy, BUT, the rules are that NO SLALOM BOARDS OR PRO RACERS WILL BE ALLOWED to enter in this race; This is open and locals only- each will ride their street or pool board. Possibly a $ 10 entry fee paid thru 3rd but entry might be free..tbd. 1st Prize will be a killer trophy (wait till you see this!!!), prizes given though 5th place.
