WE HOPE THIS DOESN'T INCONVIENCE ANY PLANS MADE BY RACES OR SPECTATORS. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF WE CAN HELP IN ANY WAY.

THE EASTSIDE ROLLERS

Welcome to one of many smooth and windy roads of Hillsboro, Oregon. The road is freshly paved 0.8 miles long with one inside banked right-hand hairpin turn almost 270 degrees. This major turn will be haybailed along with the finish line sweeper. Definately an easy course for new racers and still challenging enough for the most seasoned riders. Top speeds of 35 to 40mph will be reached. The course will be closed to through traffic by Washington County on race day from 7am to 4pm. Absolute NO RIDERS may run the course prior to this event. PLEASE RESPECT the local residents that do not want anyone on their road prior to the event. During the race these residents will be allowed to come in and/or leave their property and thus the course will be closed during this time and resumed when cleared. Violators will be disqualified and entry fees will not be returned.

Rock Creek Rally is a charity event with proceeds going to the Annie Ross House for the homeless in the Portland area.

Payment: The $20 racers fee can be payed through Paypal by clicking on icon above. All racers must be payed up by Sept. 23rd to be eligible to participate. You can also send your payment to:

Eastside Longboards
3592A S.E. Harrison
Portland, OR 97214

Location: 20 minutes West of Portland off of Highway 26. Details to be announced closer to race day. Travelers to this event should stay in Portland and drive to location of event on race day. Other featured hills in the area for riders to check out while in town are listed on link: Click here for link

Race Format and Requirements:

All riders will have a prior equipment inspection including checking the board for any possible danger to other riders or spectators. All racers must wear a full-face helmet with a motorsport rating of any of the following:
SNELL M95 if the helmet is not more than 10 years old (ie '96), M2000 or M2005, DOT, ECE-22,BCI. These ratings are tested to more than twice the standard as a B rated SNELL helmet. A B95 or any B rating are for bicycles and will not pass inspection, nor will any non motor sport rated helmet. Also full pads or leathers are required for racing. If any of these are not met to our satisfaction, the racer will not be allowed to participate.

Board Restrictions:

All racing boards must have ONLY 4 WHEELS, weigh less than 30 pounds, no taller than 8", and be totally stock without any add-ons of tape, plastic, foam or any other material or wind type ferrings on the board.

Each racer gets one practice run prior to the first qualifing round. This run may be taken alone or with a group of their choice.

No timing system, we will RACE to QUALIFY in two 5 man heats.

Racers will be grouped randomly for the first of two qualifing rounds. Depending on their placing results, racers will be grouped into the second qualifing round of another 5 man heat. From the combination of these 2 placing results for each rider, they will each be given a qualifer ranking number and then put into a 4 man heat bracket system. From here we will run these 4 man heats with the top 2 from each heat going to the next round. The bottom 2 in each heat will be illiminated. After the 1st round, the advancing racers will race each other in the 2nd round. Depending on how many racers entered will determine how many rounds until the Semi-finals and Final Championship Heat.

Schedule of the Day:

7:30 AM - Racers meeting at the top. There will be a designated area at the top for racers only to park their vehicals and have their equipment. This meeting will include an explanation of the race format, the equipment inspection, and verification of payment.

8:00 AM - Practice Run. After each rider has gone down the course, their will be a shuttle van bringing the riders back to the top.

9:00 AM - First Qualifing Heat. After each set of riders have gone down the course, their will be shuttle van bringing the riders back to the top.

10:00 AM - Second Qualifing Heat. After each set of riders has gone down the course, there will be a shuttle van bringing the riders back to the top.

11:00 AM - First round of 4 man Heats. After each set of riders has gone down the course, their will be a shuttle van bringing the riders back to the top.
