Take 2

This will be our second attempt at our first slalom race. As some of you know
the first attempt got rained and rained and rained out.

But enough with the past. This event WILL be a great one. (positive thinking
people)

The event will be preceded by a fun day here in Berlin. Saturday there is a
fair going on here in the city. Not huge, but activities for young and old and should
be fun. The best part of the day is at dusk when they light the boom piers which
run up the center of the city on fire.

Click here to read a brief history about how the boom piers got there

I would encourage anyone who is thinking of coming up for the race to
consider coming up the day before if your able. The city is excited about having
all you racers here and we are equally excited to hold our first slalom race.

Here are a few links to some hotels in the area. I recommend looking at
Gorham NH only 5-10 minutes south for a place to stay if you do decide to come
up the night before.

Town and Country

Top Notch

Royalty Inn

And a host more here.

The fall foliage should be underway also. Another reason to come up a day
early and spend the day relaxing and enjoying the area before the big race!

Here
is the GSI page with pictures of the course and other information.

Here
is a link to directions for getting here.

The entry fee is only $25.00.
