Contest Info:
This is our end of the season farewell to cones. This is a main sanctioned event (as a result of the reclassification of La Costa and the release of that sanction). This is a 2-day event (saturday and sunday) so it will be easy to fly in on a Friday night to Denver International, and get out on Sunday night.
The hill: Overlook is one of the best slalom spots in the country with a consistent 9% grade and double wide. The pavement is top quality and super grippy. The courses will be typical COSS style GS, HS, and TS that all start at 9% and get to speed quick. There is a run out area. You will not need to drag your foot to survive. There are no services on this hill so bring your food and drink.
Click here to see a movie of Pappas on this hill

The weather: Colorado in late October is a throw of the dice, but no more so than June in Breckenridge. We could have beautiful 75 F as we did today, or we could have snow as we expect on Monday. There is no way to forecast this far out so each racer traveling here will need to weigh the risks. It's unlikely that two days of the event would be rain/snowed out so we expect even with one day's light to get 2 events in. We know the chances of bad weather are high, but hey, it's better than flying to Paris and standing around in the rain, no?
Getting Here: Fly into DIA and for the fastest drive to Lafayette take the Northwest Parkway ($6 in tolls).
Staying Here: We made a deal with the Hampton Inn on Boulder turnpike. If ten rooms are booked by Oct. 15 the rate is $69. Otherwise the schmo rate is $79. Comes with free hot breakfast, free internet. Tell them you're "with that skateboard group". It's 6 miles to the hill from the Hampton and here are the directionsHampton Inn Boulder/ Louisville 912 W. Dillon Rd. Louisville, CO 80027 303-666-7700/ 303-666-7374 fax
Entry Fee: $75 Pro, $50 Open/Am, $25 Jr. If there are enough Women (e.g. 2) we'll do a Women's division with Entry fee of $50. You can pay by paypal to cossopen@asphaltplayground.com
