Contest Info:	Divisions (Pro and Am/Open) apply to Slalom contests ONLY. If there are not enough entrants in either class, the events will be run as one open-class group. Other events will also be run and/or judged in one group. Info about Slalom contests The two slalom races will be a long-format Hybrid Slalomcross and a straight-ahead 50 cone Tight Slalom course. *The slalom portions of EISF2009 have been granted ISSA PRIME status.* The slalomcross race will be fairly long, single-lane, and will include some brief sections without cones so that racers can pump up the speed a bit. In the Am/Open class there will be sections where pushing is allowed so that racers who can't pump as well can still maintain speed. The course has not yet been laid, but we're probably looking at 150-200 cones for the Pro class, somewhat less for the Am/Open class. The TS course will be on a slight downhill with only a bit of curve to the course. Prizes for the Slalom will be Cash for Pro class ($100 for first) and gear for Am/Open. There may be a bit of gear added for the Pros or a little money thrown in with the Am/Open, but we'll see about that when we get a bit closer to the event. Downhill Slide Contest There will be two slide contests, one hard- and one soft-wheel competition. Wheels 90a or higher will be considered 'hard,' wheels below 90a will be considered 'soft.' Riders will have one run each to demonstrate their best slide. (practice runs will be allowed ahead of time) The winner in each contest will receive an Earthwing Drifter deck. Longskate Freestyle Competition Each participant will have a short amount of time (tentatively set at 30-45 seconds) to show off their sickest, smoothest string of longskate freestyle moves. (or, if you prefer the term, 'longboard dancing') We're looking for creativity and new maneuvers, so originality is a big plus. *Board restrictions for the longskate freestyle contest: Boards under 36 inches may have only one upturned end ("kick"). Minimum wheel size is 60mm* This is intended not to discourage any riders but rather to promote creativity. We've tried to keep the restrictions as non-restrictive as possible, if that makes sense. Cruise to the River There is a nice riverwalk that goes along the St. Joseph river, about 1 mile south of campus. If you may want to cruise down and ride it after the event, check the box above. Alcohol/Tobacco/Drug use is not permitted on campus. I apologize to all who dislike this policy, but it is the school's rule and not mine. If you need to smoke, the campus isn't all that big and you're welcome to step outside the gate and light up. Sorry for the inconvenience - again, not my rule. The entry fee is payable in cash on the day of the event. There is a waiver that needs to be signed prior to racing. Minors (under 18) MUST have a parent sign it. Download the waiver form here There are many fast-food restaurants withing walking distance as well as a family-style restaurant. We're working on providing free pizza for all racers for lunch.
