Beast of the East 29 Registered Contestants. Event Date and Time: Saturday, June 11, 2011  10:00 Event Duration: Two Days Location: Davidson, NC Entry: Open Helmets: Mandatory Divisions: Open A Open B Women? Junior? Classes: DH GS Slide Jam Open Skate / Call Out Races Organizer: Downhillbillies Map: Entry Fee: Free Contest Info: The Beast of the East is back kids!!! Two day outlaw jam in Davidson, NC Saturday and Sunday June 11-12, 2011 Officially sponsored by our GOOD friends at LOADED / ORANGATANG Best of all... It’s free!!! Saturday: Pracice Runs - 10am - Racing starts at 11:00am Push-in Downhill - 4 rider heats. (Divisions, brackets, and single/double elimination dependent on registration numbers.) GS - Single lane, best of 3 runs. (Again, divisions dependent on registration numbers.) Start time following DH racing Shine and Sh*t Talking - All day Sunday: Slide Jam at 10:00am Slide Jam Call out racing Open Skating Shine and Sh*t Talking - All day The DH hill has a low grade at the top and gains good speed at the lower half as the grade increases. 30-35 mph. Big curves so it will be suitable for all levels of riding. This ain’t Maryhill, so don’t come expecting it to be. The GS will be held on the lower, faster section of the DH hill. Off a ramp, about 30 mph. Again, it will be suitable for all levels of riding. The big ramps are sitting this one out as it is an outlaw race. The Slide Jam will be held on another section of the same road that has a short and steeper grade. Should allow for some good stuff. After the Slide Jam - call out racin, free ridin, likker drinkin, skeeter flickin, cone kickin, banjo pickin, sh*t talkin, and injury show and tell. If you are traveling in and need a place to rest yer head, there are many hotels in the Mooresville / Davidson / Cornelius / Huntersville area. All fairly close to the spot. If you’re semi-local, go home at night or stay and get down. Restaurants are abundant, but you’ll need to bring your own supplies out to the event. Winners of the last BotE Must be present, otherwise your “winner” status will be revoked, you’ll have to send back the belt, and we’ll talk smack about you all weekend! You know who you are! >:-} There will be a moratorium on whinin’ and bitchin. Punishable by caning followed by demotion to official coneheading and drink fetchin duties. Y’ALL COME GET SOME!!! 1st Place Finisher: 2nd Place Finisher: 3rd Place Finisher: Overall Results: HEY EVERYBODY!!! We had a great time out on the hill(s) this weekend. Some good racing and sliding. Best of all, a new event has been developed... SLIDE BOWLING!!! Yea, you may be saying "whatever", but everyone had a good time setting the standard for a fun new competition (pics and vids to follow) We would really like to thank LOADED / ORANGATANG for throwing out some GREAT prizes. Those guys are very supportive in the skate community. We think, if you look, you'll find they are sponsoring races across the board (no pun intended). Let's do our part to support them. Thanks to Mike from Backbone Longboards for coming out with swag and Stoke. A big hand to the DHB for making this jam happen. No single person made this happen (It takes a village... of idiots).
