Wait the sleds are called Rodels? you cant pick up girls with a line like "hey baby check out my Rodel" so much for ice luge.
I kidd, thats actually pretty neat. If there was a track near me i'd for sure give it a try.

Huge difference:
Ice Rodel
Naturbahn Rodel
Similar drive hight. The former has internal handles for chassis twisting to affect direction whilst also using the fins up front, the latter relies more upon external hand leverage(ie: dragging one behind on the turning side, a bit like a slide skater). Every single rodel, like slalom skateboards, runs differently.

Adam, if you've ever been down flumes at a swimming pool then you have the general idea. Pretty easy. Like slalöm skating, the difficult bit is working out how and where to shave time. The course forces you in one direction! We were using naturbahn luges for open track. These are slightly slower than ice bahn luges and track straighter because of their edges. But get a line wrong and you track right out of the course! Bang splat. Sheepish bruised Brit. Leave a corner slightly early and sight up for the next corner seems to be the key.
If you get the chance, then give it a go. After your first run you'll forget about the fear and be pushing to lower your times.

Sam how hard is ice luge if you have never done it on an ice track? is it fairly easy to learn?

... nice starting ramp indeed. what i always thought after these controversial 6-wheeler discussions ... what do the officials think - ARE THREE WHEELS ALLOWED IN THE NEAR FUTURE ????
and it has already his own form of transportation and enough space for other wheels and stuff ... think about it

Had some good start ramps last week in Igls, Innsbruck:
After a bit of bobsleigh and luge we did some hardcore tray racing. Here's one of the schoolkids in dodgy compression clothing.
Did him no favours. My jumbo cords and Aran jersey beat his time by 2.5 secs, setting the season best time of 1'20." It was a small event.
Dings? Of course I crashed the frigging luge. And yes, it was on Turn 10 for the techheads amongs you. Furthermore, I spent half the time wondering, "How would Kowalski go faster?" Blimmin skate thoughts.

Zak, for the heads up on the deck!
I'm not betting anything, but I can tell you that the Dubester is the fastest guy to ever come out of Florida. Peace.

lol i can tell you now nothings going to happen in march. WE will be lucky if we get some dry roads. I do know for sure that we will have the boardmeeting again this year. Maybe we could do an outlaw the same weekend.
If you have never seen or heard of the boardmeeting its a sight to see. 200+ riders just ripping through downtown toronto in a flash riot. Last year was a blast. B.c does a similar ride called the seawall cruise.

Dont get too excited yet, we still dont have ramps or a full timer system yet.
We have been thinking about throwing a few events. I know this season we are for sure doing a slide school and a few freeride Dh things.

Really Wax? I would bet all my money and my left nut on Dubester. I don't know much about Adam, but from riding with dubes, I know that he is definitely the best DH skater I know. Proably one of the top 10 riders in the world.

Women like Cat and Lynn and Laura are all shining examples of what women in skateboarding can accomplish and i dont think people have the right to put them down for that, nor should somebody have the right to put you down for being "big boned".

I will be sending bushings tomorrow or the next day. I have about 40 ready to go. (If you think that's enough) I'll also send a couple modified trucks that I've been working with. I've got some ball pivot indys and som spherical bearing paris trucks cut down. Distribute them to team members who need better trucks. Basically, anyone who is still rolling trackers deserves one of these instead.
Also, If it's not too much trouble, one of my team riders would like to place an order for a SPEEDBOAT. He's definitely the best Downhill skater I know and one of the two fastest people on the planet right now (75.6 mph). Look for his results after next weekends race in California. He sould dominate. We are also planning on an attemp to got 110 mph car assisted. If we do it, he'll be on the cover of concrete wave. Could be on it with a pavel right?
