A strange and wonderful board
On 7/11/2008 bara wrote in from United States  (68.84.nnn.nnn)

ok Don...i rarely take people on their word, but you were right about these new torsion boards....it's an odd feel..it doesnt really "bounce" when youre not moving...and when you are, and you turn hard, it doesnt feel like it's going to go in the direction you want, but this board turns fast and it springs back to center almost immediately...it's a different feel...and i know people who hear about it wont understand what i mean, but anybody who wants to ride this deck at any race you see me at, just ask.....hands down the best board i've ever ridden...i'm no Mithell or Mollica....or Barker or Pirnack for that matter...but this board will bring me closer to them no doubt....wonder what Fadell will say about it when he gets here...

Missing gear
On 7/9/2008 Cat wrote in from United States  (76.126.nnn.nnn)

I think a better way to go about it is to put a shout out to the person or persons responsible for the theft of Zak's stuff.

Return everything, no questions asked, remain anonymous.
They may be more likely to respond.

It sounds to me like like someone Zak knows.
Anyone who has ever been to Zak's house knows how out of the way & secluded it is. There are only about 4 houses on the whole block AND it's a dead end street.
Just seems awfully fishy to me it would be a random thing.

I'll chip in $100.00 for info leading to the safe return of all gear.

Thanks
On 7/9/2008 Zak Maytum wrote in from United States  (67.173.nnn.nnn)

Wow. Thank you so much Donald. I really appreciate your generous offer. I'm just bummed I won't be able to get another board like that magic cbark-shaped rocka' thing if mine doesn't show up.

I am at a disadvantage for Hood River, (good thing I wasn't planning on morrow bay) but Dave Pirnack, Martin Reaves, Gary Fluitt, Cbark, and Chris Pappas have all loaned me enough gear to put together 2 boards which I will try to get dialed in the next week. The good news is, I will still be racing on Pavels. The bad news is, I won't be racing on G.O.G.s.

Thanks,
~Zak~

DAMN SUCKERS
On 7/9/2008 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (88.77.nnn.nnn)

just got word on the maytum incident.
maybe these guys read here too...

ok.... listen up:

besides the theft you took away stuff from zak he needs to compete with at the next races.
you took more than a monetary value away from him.
zak is used to riding just these boards and he has a great disadvantage now when he goes to the next races, skating on stuff he is NOT used to.

know what?

throw it back into his garden at night be cool

no matter where this stuff shows up later.you will be tracked down and then the trouble starts.
just imagine having cbark, mitch or dave d or pappas knocking at your front door.

you don't wanna have that for sure.

so AGAIN please be cool about the stuff and give it back to zak

there are ways to do that anonymously

Hot-diggity-ding-dang-dong, that is quick work, Boardmeister. I sure that the board will be equally as rapid. Provided that it beats Pelle into a whimpering heap then I won't mind when it turns up. I need a bit of discipline, so make me wait and send it via Michael. He's happy for that to be the case. Means that he can taunt me with my own purchase and turn me into his skate slave.

By the way, are there any black Homers knocking around?
Think I need to add one to the gimp collection.

Sam

i have always thought carlin was cool, and have heard and seen alot of him,but not that whole routine, watched just about all of it. Not to pile on to to that izzard chap, but, he does that "i'm confused thing" sort of a degenerous thing, but he's(they're) not confused it's a routine an act sort of the same everynight(give or take) for weeks, months on end for different audiences, practiced and rehearsed, how can i act confused as funny as possible, tweaking the timing sculpting the sentence structure, imagine the making of that act,it's annoying.Carlin is amazing,i can only imagine there are cues or some sort of teleprompters ,,,but whew that opening bit is mind boggling, i'm sure i've heard it before, but thanks for bringing it back to the forefront.
