In case anyone is interested...and sadly I am, copyright in a film expires 70 years after the end of the year in which the death occurs of the last to survive of the principal director, the authors of the screenplay and dialogue, and the composer of any music specially created for the film, and I can't wait that long!

Speaking of Skateboard Kings (as some people were earlier), I need a copy of it fairly urgently for research purposes and I haven't seen the thing for about five years. Can anybody help?
I’ve recently been approached by somebody who has been offered the rights to release Skateboard Kings commercially on VHS and DVD here and in the US. As it has been so heavily bootlegged (and plans are afoot for the BBC to screen it again), I was wondering if there was still a market for it. Would those of you who already have copies actually fork out for an official release if it ever became available? I’d be interested to hear your opinions.

Great day at Brands on Sunday, thanks to Chris, Simon, Smokestack and everybody else who helped out sorting things out to make it possible. I had a super if somewhat varied day, doing the high speed ambulance run with Chris (I'll get a flashing light fitted to my car for the next comp) and saw some good Porshe racing on the race track and even managed to skate down the hill without falling.
Did Michael Dong get a prize for winning? Don't think so and it didn't matter, everybody had a fantastic time and as in the old days the reward for skating was skating.

Ross, I got a copy as well on Saturday, after Skateboard Kings (excellent film as good if not better than Dogtown the Movie) finishes wind it on a little bit and The Search For Animal Chin is on there too!!

There's half a pic of me there as well, shame really as I had the best shirt of the day by far (which should make up for my lack of skating due to a sodding great insect bite that made my right leg next to useless). The best thing about the day was that my kids want to go back! A special thanks to the guy I got 'Skateboard Kings' off of, far better than the normal Sat night TV.

Alec, Bloody hell, there's an embarasing pic of me on the MAS site...
I'll see you at Guildford some time, we're there by 9 most saturday mornings, though we'll probably be traveling further fairly often during the summer. It's worth getting there early as the most oldschool/longboard fun is carving the banks, ramps and bumps on the street course until the kickflippers turn up and reduce the place to several straight back and forth lines...

The oxford tube bus stops at the wattlington exit of the m40, but it is a few miles from there to wattlington itself.

its not easy on public transport. the village is really in the middle of nowhere. the nearest train station is henley, but reading and maidenhead are close by. buses are non-existent as far as i'm aware. it is very easy to get to from the M40 however...

Thanks to everyone for Brands. I'm with Mog on this one, I learnt more at Brands than before and thanks to Chris for the advice on the course. It turned me from a whinger thinking I could not do it, to having a great day.
I would also like to thank all the parents that had kids help out on the cone marshalling. It is a job no one likes doing but makes the day a whole lot smoother.
Chris get better soon.

Chris, sorry to hear your slam was that serious, mend quickly.
Simon, well done for running a great days racing, I was glad to be involved, even with the dodgy batteries!
Thanks to Michael Stride for the kids prizes and some impressive racing (even though that badger kept moving your cones, mate!)

How easy would it be to make an afternoon there, from London, using public transport?
I've taken my son to Romford a couple of times, and he enjoys it, but he's not a terribly confident skater and the terrain at Romford is a bit "full on". Sounds like he might well appreciate Watlington...

A Great day out, we arrived just after 9AM and stayed until 6PM, I got burned, luckily my wife had caked the kids in sun cream before we left.
I was the fat bloke, wimping out by sticking to a 32x10 BDS rather than riding my Longboard for most of the day.
Jack (8) was the kid pulling various slides on his shortboard and almost pumping enough to forever carve on his slalom setup.
Mikey (6) spent most of his time rolling in and out of the micro bowl. I was amazed, he was demanding to go home by 11.30 but after skating with other kids and getting a little more nerve he lasted the whole day, I had to drag them both away.
Well done Luke and the other guy (sorry I forgot your name) who organised it. Anyway, we're all up for making the trip from Guildford again soon, maybe late afternoon/early evening on a sunday, it'd be great to meet up with some of the same people again.

Well, what can I say but................FUN,.FUN,FUN.
I've been to a lot of comps at Brands over the years (many,many,many years) but yesterday was definetly the most fun one ever.
Highlights...
Seeing people who have only heard about the hill and then seeing it for the first time with a look of awe, and in some cases sheer fear!
Stride, going bull's out.
Two, great new friends from across the pond, Micheal, Richy and Maria, I salute you for giving so much time and effort to those that didn't really want to go that mad for their first time on the hill. The advice you gave both the Newcomer's and us Older boys was invaluable and will be remembered for years to come I'm sure.
Smokestack, so sorry you couldn't race, but what a great job as the course official.....three cheers I say!
Richy, Micheal, thank you for your display of how to ride my favourite hill, and so convincingly.
Thanks also to Terry, Nutsack and Chris for all your help.
Chris, get well soon mate.
